Development on Geographical Information Science

Abstract:This paper is summarized on geographical information science. Since 1995, geographers have studied and applied 3S (Remote Sensing, Global Positioning System and Geographical Information System). Since 1998, a part of geographers have studied digital earth. Since 2000, a part of geographers have studied earth observation system. In the world, someone is using "geographical information science" magazine ; someone is using "spatial information technique ". Authors have researched and lectured geographical information science, geographical information system, and GPS more than 10 years. Put forward outer space information and geographical information network system, which is an open complexity information giant system. We also have suggested a newly geographical information system. In adding, we have advanced outer space-earth-human-computer system to develop human and earth relationship. This paper discusses the geographical information science, which is a very important support for information society with sustainable development. Finally, this paper points out the future direction and foreground of geographical information science.
