Influence of Natural Disasters on People's Behaviors

Abstract:Natural disasters not only have various impacts on people's life and production but also influence behaviors of people. During the over 2000 years from the time when China was unified in Qin Dynasty to the downfall of Qing Dynasty, thousands of peasant wars broke, each of which can be attributed to a deep-rooted social reason. But looking through the history, we may find that many of these peasant wars broke out during the period of natural disasters. With plenty of historical evidence, this article shows that natural disasters are the direct reason that touches off peasant wars. It also puts forward a few thought-provoking ideas in hopes that we can learn a lesson from the history.
