The Treatment of Total Hip Replacement with Thrombocytopenia: Report of 29 Cases

Abstract:Objective: To study how the patients receiving total hip replacement are affected by thrombocytopenia and explore the treatment.Method:From 1997.10 to 2001.10,29 patients with thrombocytopenia receiving total hip replacement were analyzed.Result:The increasment of Harris scores of the patients with thrombocytopenia were similar as the patients without throbomcytopenia.Transfusion volume of blood and platelet of patients with platelet count less than 50×10 9/L were significantly greater than 50~79×10 9/L and 80~99×10 9/L groups.The blood loss and transfusion of blood and platelet of the patients with platelet count 50～79×10 9/L seemed greater than 80~99×10 9/L group.Conclusion:The thrombocytopenia will not affect the function recovery.But the transfusion volume of blood and platelet of patients with platelet count less than 50×10 9/L are significantly greater than those of patients with platelet count greater than 50×10 9/L.If there is enough platelet support during operation,the perioperative period will be safe for patients with thrombocytopenia.
