Abstract:Objective:To investigate the treatment of purulent arthritis with debridement under arthroscopy and continuous short term lavage with a fast flow after operation Method:Sixteen patients with purulent arthritis were treated by debridement under arthroscopy and continuous lavage after operation from October 2000 to October 2002 Result:Cases were followed up ranged from 10 to 34 months All cases were cured without relapse,with 13 of the cases excellent,2 fair and 1 poor The average treatment time were 7 1 days Conclusion:Selection of continuous short term lavage with or without debridement under arthroscopy based on different pathological stages has good therapeutic effect on purulent knee arthritis It costs less hospital time and provides better recovery,it is supposed to be a better therapentic method than those used previously
