A Empirical Analysis on the Competitiveness of Commercial Banks

Abstract:Since the reform and opening-up, the banking system og our country has already developed into such one with the central bank as the core, the state-run commercial bank as the backbone, and small and medium-sized shareholding banks in coexistence. With the accession to the WTO, the domestic and foreign commercial banks have launched the omni-directional competition. Because of their different competitiveness the banking of our country will be faced with enormous pressure and challenge. This paper makes an analysis on the overall competitiveness between domestic and foreign commercial banks, and puts forward the corresponding policy recommendations.
