Abstract:The character and difficulty of distribution power network planning is how to deal with its uncertainty, which was studied separately in different stages such as in load flow. Fuzzy theory is applied to whole process of distribution power network planning with taking several uncertain factors into consideration, such as load pattern, investment and price level. A methodology for fuzzy load prediction, fuzzy power flow calculation and fuzzy optimization is presented. Based on describing both load and power flow with L-R type of fuzzy variables, a brief and practical method is developed, i.e. the left boundary, right boundary and medium value of load prediction are used to calculate the corresponding values of power flow. This method is not feasible in transmission network planning, however, adaptable in distribution power network planning. Examples show that robust planning schemes can result from the fuzzy planning.

Abstract:The urban drainage system is complex. Flux and water lever of the system are affected by the people behaviors, rain and some other unpredicted factors such as channel leakage. But Sewage overflow may happen with improper control policy. And the system has the potential of saving power So a design of sewage pumping station fuzzy controller based on improved genetic algorithms is proposed And the mathematical model based on energy and network pollution minimizing is presented Improved genetic algorithms acquire the fuzzy rules of the fuzzy controller and optimize parameters. The design of fuzzy controller has been proved to have good robust with simulating calculation. Combining of the method proposed in this article with VVVF is more advanced than the traditional method with constant rate. Water level can keep unvarying at aimed water level and achieve that flux in equal flux out. It could achieve the double-optimal control goal of energy and pollution minimizing. Through simulating experiment, the system has good applied value.

Three fuzzy power flow models, nonlinear, linearized and multi-linearization fuzzy power flow model, are introduced. The solution algorithms are also described. Abstract:The method of fuzzy power flow analysis is extended from DC model to AC one, and the nonlinear, linear and multi-linear models are constructed to obtain the possibility distribution of load flow efficiently in accordance with the corresponding fuzzy sets theory including the /spl lambda/ - level set characteristic of fuzzy number operations and decompose theorem. Some technical problems, such as the solution for the nonlinear fuzzy power flow, the solution of possibility distribution for the linear fuzzy power flow and the selection of linearization point, et al., are studied further. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed models and methods have been demonstrated on the corresponding numerical results.

Abstract:While the fuzzy power flow is based on fuzzy set theory and has no standard solution till now,the credibility theory,a mathematical branch in the study of fuzzy phenomenon,provides the axiomatic foundation for fuzziness.A general fuzzy power flow algorithm is developed based on credibility theory.The algorithm can not only give the possibility distribution of the power flow results,their expected values and variances,but also calculate the expected values of overloaded equipment's graveness and the system risk.On the one hand,the calculation results of fuzzy power flow can be analyzed and compared directly by the algorithm with improved practicability.On the other hand,it has solid mathematical theory foundation and can be adopted as a benchmark testing method for the power flow.Numerical tests on a 6-node system and an actual regional power grid verify the feasibility and effectiveness of this algorithm.
Fuzzy Modelling and Solution of Load Flow Incorporating Uncertainties of Wind Farm Generation

Abstract:The intermittent and fluctuant nature of wind generation is posing great new issues and challenges to the planning and operation of interconnected power systems with high penetration of grid-connected wind farms. In this paper,the probability theory and fuzzy sets theory are employed to carry out systematic and thorough studies on power system fuzzy load flow calculation incorporating uncertainties of wind farm generation. The Weibull distribution curve with specified parameters is simulated as the wind speed probability density distribution,and with the possibility/probability consistency principle(PPCP),the wind speed probability density distribution is first transformed to the wind speed possibility distribution. In accordance with simplified power-speed curve of squirrel cage induction generator (SCIG),the fuzzy model of SCIG power output is then built. The proposed fuzzy model is linearized further for simplicity. The sensitivity analysis based method is also employed to carry out the possibility distribution of fuzzy load flow solutions. Numerical results based on a modified IEEE 14-bus system demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed models and methods.

Abstract:In this paper, the probability theory and fuzzy sets theory were employed to carry out the studies on power system load flow analysis with consideration of wind generation uncertainties. Based on the Possibility/Probability Consistency Principle, the original measurement based wind speed probability density distribution was transformed to the wind speed possibility distribution firstly. The fuzzy model of power output from squirrel cage induction generator (SCIG) was then built in accordance with a simplified power-speed curve of SCIG. The proposed fuzzy model was linearized further for simplicity. Abstract:Optimal power flow calculation, used to optimize specific aspects of power systems operations, usually employs standard mathematical programming techniques. These techniques are not suitable to handle many practical considerations encountered in power systems, including the uncertainty of the operating constraints. This paper presents the application of a fuzzy optimization technique to optimal power flow calculations. The developed method has been tested on a large-scale power system. Numerical results show that this method is promising for handling uncertain constraints in practical power systems.
Chaos Control Simulation of Freeway by Using T-S Fuzzy-neural Networks Based on Rough Sets

Abstract:The on-ramp chaos control problem of freeway was studied by using fuzzy-neural networks based on rough set theory. Based on the uncertainty characteristic of vehicle volume in freeway system, the thought was proposed to establish the knowledge base of the on-ramp intelligent chaos controller of freeway by using data mining technology. The T-S fuzzy- neural networks ramp controller was designed. The traffic density, upstream traffic volume and maximal Lyapunov exponents are the input variables and the red timing is the output variable of the controller The knowledge base of the chaos controller was established by using rough sets theory. The controller structure including the extracting of fuzzy rules was determined. The parameters of the fuzzy controller were optimized by using fuzzy-neural networks. The feasibility and validity of the method was demonstrated via the simulation experiment, which shows that the order motion can be realized, the traffic jam phenomena can be suppressed, and the freeway capacity can be enhaned by using the intelligent chaos controller.
Congestion evaluation from traffic flow information based on fuzzy logic

Abstract:In this paper, we present a new method to evaluate congestion from traffic flow information based on fuzzy logic. Level of congestion is considered as a continuous variable from free flow to traffic jam. After a simulation, we used adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system and trained a series of fuzzy logic rules, to estimate the congestion. As a result, general perception of judging congestion is recovered by the fuzzy system with basic traffic parameters.

Abstract:The article investigates the decentralized periodic dynamic event-based load frequency control problem for a class of multiarea nonlinear power systems with uncertain parameters. For overcoming the limitations on the knowledge of studied power systems, the interval type-2 (IT2) fuzzy model is synthesized by using local linear models relevant to some operation points. Under the IT2 fuzzy framework, the decentralized periodic dynamic event-based fuzzy control law is proposed to reduce the bandwidth burden of communication networks. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, a sufficient condition is presented such that closed-loop systems are exponentially stable with a given H-infinity performance. The existence condition of the controller gains and the triggering scheme's parameters is expressed in terms of matrix inequalities. The obtained results are extended to two situations, i.e., the decentralized periodic static event-based fuzzy control and the decentralized periodic sampling fuzzy control. Compared with the latter two control approaches, the developed decentralized periodic dynamic triggering strategy can provide the lowest communication frequency. Finally, the validity and superiority of the developed method are demonstrated by simulation results.

Abstract:This paper proposes a new probabilistic load flow method based on the first-order second-moment method. The proposed method aims to obtain the mean and standard deviation of load flow solution distributions considering various uncertainties in system operation. Power injection uncertainties including fluctuation of loads and unit outages are considered in the probabilistic load flow calculation. The performance of the proposed method is examined by comparing the results with those from Monte Carlo simulation using IEEE 9-bus and 118-bus test systems. A normalized accuracy and efficiency based procedure is developed for result analyses. Numerical tests demonstrate that the proposed method can obtain accurate results while reducing the computation time significantly.

Abstract:Based on description of stochastic events and fuzzy events using probabilistic method and fuzzy set theory,the evaluation method of fuzzy reliability in electric power network planning is presented.The stochastic change in operation states of equipment and network is described by probabilistic method.The fuzziness in parameters,state probabilistic of equipment and loads is described by fuzzy set.Fuzzy reliability indexes are obtained by means of fuzzy set calculation.The numerical example of IEEE\|24 buses reliability test system and Monte Carlo simulating indicates correctness and availability of the proposed approach.

Abstract:The extended Monte Carlo method is capable of translating the error in the probabilistic load flow into controllable parameters and retaining the power flow results already obtained with the sample size increased.The conventional method based on the Latin hypercube sampling is more efficient than simple random sampling,but still have two main drawbacks:firstly,the Latin hypercube sampling method is of low accuracy for its incapability of generating sampling sequences of low discrepancy,which constitutes the bottleneck of convergence;secondly,there is no suitable convergence criterion that can be adopted in the non-normal distribution scenarios.In order to overcome these two drawbacks,a probabilistic load flow method based on Sobol sequence is proposed.Furthermore,a convergence criterion based on non-parametric density estimator is employed.The simulation results on IEEE 30-bus system and IEEE 118 bus system demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.In contrast to the method based on Latin hypercube sampling,the proposed method is of high efficiency,accuracy and speed.And the adoption of the convergence criterion is more direct and flexible,and better able to guide the convergence in extended probabilistic load flow.

Abstract:Recently the traffic related problems have become strategically important, due to the continuously increasing vehicle number. As a result, microscopic simulation software has become an efficient method in traffic engineering for its cost-effectiveness and safety characteristics. In this paper, a new fuzzy logic based simulation software (FLOWSIM) is introduced, which can reflect the mixed traffic flow phenomenon in China better. The fuzzy logic based car-following model and lane-changing model are explained in detail. Furthermore, its applications for mixed traffic flow management in mid-size cities and for signalized intersection management assessment in large cities are illustrated by examples in China. Finally, further study objectives are discussed.

Abstract:The auto-recognition of traffic flow status is the foundation of advanced traffic management systems. In this paper, we first use rough set theory to obtain variables reflecting traffic flow characteristics and their corresponding weight coefficients. Then we apply those parameters to fuzzy logic recognition method in order to establish a traffic flow identification algorithm. The algorithm can be used to detect three traffic patterns: normal status, recurrent congestion and traffic incident. Finally, we apply FIR-IR curve to evaluate the performance of this algorithm with other two existing auto-recognition algorithms. The results show that the proposed algorithm has a better performance.

Abstract:Based on the theory of the fuzziness and stochastic finite element solution, a fuzzy monte carlo finite element solution was presented. Firstly, with the λ-cut set of the fuzzy set, fuzzy parameters in a fuzzy engineering structure were transformed into stochastic variables in the uniform distribution function. Secondly, the structure was solved by the monte carlo finite element method. Thirdly, according to the fuzzy expansion and decomposition theorem, the results of a fuzzy engineering structure were obtained. Finally, the sensitivity analysis was applied to reduce solution time. Numerical results of the fuzzy assembly flanged joint structure shown that the solution was efficient.

Abstract:Uncertainties in load and availability of generation were firstly expressed by trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, then a fuzzy linear programming model was established for minimizing the fuzzy load not supplied and was translated into a parametric linear programming model which can be solved by the extended Bland's anticycling dual simplex algorithm. A numerical example of 24 bus and 30 branch system was also given.

Abstract:A new algorithm for solving optimal power flow (OFF) problems is presented with minimizing polluting indexes. The purchase cost and the multiple polluting indexes are counted in the objective function. The problem is solved by an efficient interior point method through successive linear programming. An optimal solution to full extent close to the ideal solution in non-inferior solutions is found by using the concept of fuzzy nearness. Only minor modifications of the optimal power flow model are required to reduce three types of atmospheric pollutions produced by fossil-fired electric power plants without adding new equipments. IEEE 30 bus test system is run. The validity of the algorithm is illustrated by the numerical results.

Abstract:Load balancing is the process of improving the Performance of a parallel and distributed system through is distribution of load among the processors [1-2]. Most of the previous work in load balancing and distributed decision making in general, do not effectively take into account the uncertainty and inconsistency in state information but in fuzzy logic, we have advantage of using crisps inputs. In this paper, we present a new approach for implementing dynamic load balancing algorithm with fuzzy logic, which can face to uncertainty and inconsistency of previous algorithms, further more our algorithm shows better response time than round robin and randomize algorithm respectively 30.84 percent and 45.45 percent.
