Abstract:In consideration of the action of centrifugal force, a method to analyze solid liquid two-phase fluid viscous flow on vane surface is given. As an example of real pump, the influence of vane curve on the dynamic properties of fluid is analyzed and explained theoretically, and is proved by contrast tests. It is clear that the influence has mainly three aspects including hydraulic efficiency, dynamic properties and theoretical delivery lift. The results give evaluated evidence of vane curve and require a method of rational vane curve. The conclusion has direct significance to typify and design for vane curve of solid liquid two-phase flow centrifugal pump in lower rotating rate.

Abstract:The abrasion phenomenon in the inner surface of the stator of a double acting vane pump(DAVP) is easily happened, especially in suction mineral oil area, when the pump is working. In order to solve the problem, the theoretical analysis is studied and the mathematical model is established in the paper. Therefore, the conclusions are reached as follows: the force applied on the vane of the DAVP set up along radius direction is less than that on the vane set up forward incline direction, at the same time, the abrasion of the inner surface of the stator is much smaller.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the analysis of running conditions and machining processes of conical cam with oscillating follower. We point out the common errors existing in the design and machining of the widely used plane expansion method of conical cam trough-out line. We show that the motion can be divided into two parts, i.e. the oscillating motion of oscillating bar and the rotary motion of oscillating bar relative to the conical cam. By increasing the rotary motion of oscillating bar, the motion path of tapered roller on oscillating bar (i.e. contour surface of conical cam) can be expanded on the cylinder. Based on these analyses, we present a creative and effective designing and machining method for 3D curve expansion of conical cam with oscillating follower.

Abstract:A novel algorithm based on envelop theory and B-rep modeling technique was proposed aiming at the difficulties of swept volume solid modeling for manufacturing.The algorithm was divided into four parts: analysis of trajectory curves including trajectory discretization and reference frame establishment,extraction of swept profiles including evaluation of velocity vectors on revolution generators and calculation of swept profiles at each discretized position,generation of envelop surfaces including the grouping and lofting of swept profiles,and construction of swept volume solids including the combination of swept envelop surface with the ingress and egress surfaces.Experimental results show that the presented algorithm is simpler,more efficient and accurate than other methods.

Abstract:To study the fluid character of axial piston pump,a mathematical model of flow condition in piston chamber was developed with compressibility of fluid oil.The model was further improved by analysis of movement model of piston,cross area of valve plate,throttle coefficient,flow loss inside pump,etc.Besides,the model of whole piston pump with its hydraulic system was developed with lamped parameter method.A simulation system was built by using Matlab based on the mathematical pump model.A visual graphical user interface was established to automatically analyze the relation between pump geometric structure,working conditions,system parameters and flow conditions of pump.The flow conditions of the pump were tested by using pump flow ripple test rig.It is shown that the pressure pulsation and flow ripple results calculated by the mathematical model agree well with the experimental results.The analytical error can be controlled within 5%.It can be concluded that the developed mathematical model has high precision and can accurately predict the fluid character of axial piston pump.

Abstract:The derivation process of tooth profile equation of cycloidal pump,theoretical simulation and experimental analysis of static characteristics were introduced.The conversion method was used to obtain the tooth profile curve equation of cycloidal pump.A cycloidal pump was processed by using the tooth profile equation with design parameters.The static characteristics of the cycloidal pump were analyzed by theory and experiment in the low pressure.The results show that the tooth profile equation and simulation model of cycloidal pump are valid.

Abstract:NURBS curve is applied to model and machine of integral impeller to get better smooth streamline in this work. In order to get high precision surface modeling of impeller, complex surface modeling method for impeller is studied through inputting NURBS curves and surfaces obtained by MATLAB into CAXA Manufacturing Engineer, which solves the problem that cannot be designed NURBS curve and surface directly in the CAD software. Grooving and expanding groove tool paths are obtained according to the NURBS curve of top curve and root curve, and its interpolation step size and the row spacing are determined according to the curvature of the curve and interpolation period. Meanwhile, five-axis side milling method is used to achieve the vane finish machining, and streamline processing method is adopted to realize the finish machining of the channel. All work is verified in a virtual simulation system of 5MC850-C machining center, and these simulation results show that machining accuracy error of the impeller is between − 0.007 and 0.012 mm, meeting tolerance range of the impeller design.

Abstract:Pneumatic dual reciprocating bellows pump has been widely used in chemical transportation due to its good sealing and anticorrosion performances. Nevertheless, the large outlet pulsation limits its performances on precise transportation and control of the fluid. Although the design of employing flexible linkage between the bellows has been proposed as an effective solution for this shortcoming, the design, manufacture, and control of the pump also become much more complicated. This paper presents a mathematical model to formulate the effects of structural, geometric, and control parameters to the output pulsation of pneumatic dual reciprocating bellows pump with flexible linkage. It is a dynamic model unifying several sub-models expressing the pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical parts in the pump, respectively. To ensure the accuracy, some special experiments are also employed to identify some key parameters in the model that cannot be determined directly. In addition, finite difference method is employed to solve the nonlinear equations. The model is well verified by comparing its computation results with experimental data. We believe that this study is valuable for guiding the design of pneumatic dual reciprocating bellows pump and optimizing its output pulsation.

Abstract:The vane tip profile contacted with the inner wall of the stator is a key point in designing the rotary vane compressor.The vane tip profile design,matched with the stator profile,closely connected with the essential parameters is presented with the geometric theory of calculus ensuring the reliability of the rotary vane compressor.The theoretical calculation basis is provided for the design of the rotary vane compressor with high efficient compression and the design theory of the rotary vane compressor is broadened.Computer simulation and test demonstrate that the new vane has a better meshing characteristic,which eliminates the scraping between the vane tip and the cylinder and partial abrasion conditions completely,and leads to sliding uniformly.The shape of the vane tip profile ensures the reliability of the seal between the vane tip and the inner wall of the stator;the vane tip profile is simple,and easy to machine.When the vane is meshed with inner wall of the stator,the front and rear transitional arcs smoothly connected with the main vane profile can not only avoid to form a cutting edge shape,but also benefit to form oil membrane.The precision requirement of manufacture and assembly of stator,rotor,vane and rotor slot is reduced.

Abstract:To study the hydrodynamic performance of SPG50-200 type vertical canned motor pump for the basis of hydraulic model optimizing,commercial CFD software was used to simulate the internal flow in canned motor pump.The 3D modeling method and simulation method of flow field were introduced.Velocity of flow and pressure distributing in the pump were analyzed,and the hydraulic performance of the pump was predicted based on the results of flow simulation which were compared with the experiment results,the influence of the shape of volute cross-section on the performance curve was investigated,the application prospects of the pump was introduced.It has certain significance guidance for improving the performance of the pump.[Ch,11 fig.1 tab.9 ref.]

Abstract:The mathematical model of direct-drive compressor valve in topology was conducted using varia-ble density method in order to improve discharge volume, efficiency and reliability of direct-drive compres-sor. The exhaust valve was optimized in topology. The structure parameter was ascertained based on topology results. The force of exhaust valve was analyzed. The vibration mode of direct-drive compressor valve was analyzed in ANSYS. Results show that the ON-OFF frequency is much less than inherence fre-quency and the valve can not resonate by mode simulation. The stress and the displacement distribution of direct-drive compressor valve were deduced. Stress and distortion trend accorded with the practice by stress and distortion simulation. The mathematical model of the process of valve was presented. The motion rule of valve was simulated. ON-OFF of valve is in gear, which show the rationality and efficiency of the method.

Abstract:As one significant component in high-speed rotary compressors, sliding vane undergoes complex motions within the vane slot. The requirements for high-performance compressors result in the applications of low-viscosity lubrication techniques and high working frequency, thus worsening the operation conditions of the vane. To investigate the service performance of the sliding vane, a new tribo-dynamic model considering groove distribution and multi-body coupling is established in this study. Based on the solution with the modified extended backward differentiation formulae (MEBDF), the tribo-dynamic behaviors of the vane-related friction pairs are revealed. After comparison, the optimal scheme of the vane width is determined as 3.188 mm, with which the maximum wear load of the vane slot on the suction side is reduced obviously and the wear volume changes little. With the conical structure scheme of Lcs=1.5mm and hcs=1μm , the maximum wear load of the vane slot can be greatly reduced, thus increasing the wear uniformity. To improve the operation performance of the vane-slot conjunction, the lower suction pressure is suggested. This work provides comprehensive information for manufacturers to understand the working state of the sliding vane and conduct the optimal design.

Abstract:This paper proposes a new type of curve, an elliptical roulette, which it initially applies to rotary lobe pumps. Once the new rotor profile has been mathematically modeled using the principle of gearing, equations can be derived to assess the presence or absence of undercutting in the tooth profile. The effect of the new profile properties on pumping performance is evaluated using a specially developed three-dimensional fluid analysis model. The proposed curve is tested using six novel rotor profiles based on the elliptical axial ratio parameter λ (a shorter axis divided by a larger axis). These six new cases and a traditional case are analyzed under the same volume and clearance conditions and their differences compared. The results show that a smaller elliptical axial ratio design produces better flow characteristics. In particular, an elliptical axial ratio smaller than 0.6 not only achieves high discharge efficiency but allows vibration and noise to be controlled by the flow rate fluctuation coefficient, which approximates the traditional indicator. The proposed curve can thus serve as a useful reference for pump or rotary fluid machine design.

Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures

Abstract:To increase the accuracy of an analytic method based on the concentrated-mass approach for solving the mechanical operating modal characteristics of complete impellers and impellers with balancing holes in a centrifugal-pump rotor system, we establish a mathematical model and a three-dimensional simulation model for a double-supported three-stage centrifugal-pump rotor system. By comparing the modal results obtained from the two models, we propose a mathematical model that integrates the optimization of mass-distribution methods and bending stiffness correction coefficients, and we derive an optimized mathematical model for rotors with balancing holes. The effectiveness of the optimized mathematical model is validated via three-dimensional simulation, and the influence of balancing holes on the wet modes is analyzed. The results show that the wet natural frequencies are lower than the dry ones and that the wet natural frequencies obtained from analytical calculations are consistently higher than those obtained from three-dimensional simulation results. The optimized mathematical model significantly improves the accuracy of the wet modal characteristics for both complete impellers and impellers with balancing holes, with the errors in the low-order natural frequencies reduced by more than 50%. Under the same hole spacing, the natural frequencies of the three-stage centrifugal pump rotor system decrease with increasing hole diameter slightly. Under the same hole diameter, the natural frequencies of the rotor system increase slightly with the hole spacing. The effect of stiffness changes caused by balancing holes on the natural frequencies is larger than the effect of mass changes.

Abstract:Abstract This paper presents a new rotor profile of roots vacuum pump composed of arc, involute and cycloid.It’ s whole tooth profile which is described exactly by combining the meshing principle of gears with parameter equation. The performance of meshing of two rotors is improved without profile interference and packet gas, which are the problems of conventional involute profiles. The work provides new theoretical basis for digital design of new rotor profile, its meshing analysis, dynamic emulation, kinematics and dynamics analysis.

Abstract:The development of high-performance mass spectrometer and vacuum coating technology has placed higher demand on the vacuum level of turbomolecular pumps (TMPs), which are required to possess a greater compression ratio and faster pumping speed. There exists a relation of "as one falls, another rises" between the compression ratio and the pumping speed when traditional improvement methods are used. How to simultaneously increase the compression ratio and pumping speed is a very important question for the high-end turbomolecular pumps. In this study, on the basis of a parallel blade and thin gas aerodynamic model, several types of curved blade are presented to improve the pumping performance of TMPs. The comparison results show that the positive quadratic surface exhibited a better pumping performance than the other curved blades. After that, a hybrid optimization method based on a support vector machine (SVR) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) are proposed to obtain the structural parameters of the rotor blade for the highest pumping speed and maximum compression ratio. The optimization results show that, compared with the parallel blades, the compression single-stage blade row with quadratic surface structure was able to increase the maximum compression ratio by 10.35% and the maximum pumping speed factor by 4.61%. In addition, the intermediate single-stage blade row with quadratic surface structure increased the maximum compression ratio by 9.15% and the maximum pumping speed factor by 2.53%.
