Abstract:•rs2736100/rs2736098 SNPs are not significantly associated with renal cell carcinoma risk.•rs2736100-CC/CA and rs2736098-AA predicts shorter survival of renal cell carcinoma.•Patients carrying both rs2736100-CC/CA and rs2736098-AA had shortest survival.•High TERT expression predicted shorter survival of renal cell carcinoma.
