Abstract:In this paper, a novel framework of the 3D reconstruction of buildings is proposed, focusing on remote sensing super-generalized stereo-pairs (SGSPs). As we all know, 3D reconstruction cannot be well performed using nonstandard stereo pairs, since reliable stereo matching could not be achieved when the image-pairs are collected at a great difference of views, and we always failed to obtain dense 3D points for regions of buildings, and cannot do further 3D shape reconstruction. We defined SGSPs as two or more optical images collected in less constrained views but covering the same buildings. It is even more difficult to reconstruct the 3D shape of a building by SGSPs using traditional frameworks. As a result, a dynamic multi-projection-contour approximating ( DMPCA) framework was introduced for SGSP-based 3D reconstruction. The key idea is that we do an optimization to find a group of parameters of a simulated 3D model and use a binary feature-image that minimizes the total differences between projection-contours of the building in the SGSPs and that in the simulated 3D model. Then, the simulated 3D model, defined by the group of parameters, could approximate the actual 3D shape of the building. Certain parameterized 3D basic-unit-models of typical buildings were designed, and a simulated projection system was established to obtain a simulated projection-contour in different views. Moreover, the artificial bee colony algorithm was employed to solve the optimization. With SGSPs collected by the satellite and our unmanned aerial vehicle, the DMPCA framework was verified by a group of experiments, which demonstrated the reliability and advantages of this work.

Abstract:The surround-view module is an indispensable component of a modern advanced driving assistance system. By calibrating the intrinsics and extrinsics of the surround-view cameras accurately, a top-down surround-view can be generated from raw fisheye images. However, poses of these cameras sometimes may change. At present, how to correct poses of cameras in a surround-view system online without re-calibration is still an open issue. To settle this problem, we introduce the sparse direct framework and propose a novel optimization scheme of a cascade structure. This scheme is actually composed of two levels of optimization and two corresponding photometric error based models are proposed. The model for the first-level optimization is called the ground model, as its photometric errors are measured on the ground plane. For the second level of the optimization, it's based on the so-called ground-camera model, in which photometric errors are computed on the imaging planes. With these models, the pose correction task is formulated as a nonlinear least-squares problem to minimize photometric errors in overlapping regions of adjacent bird's-eye-view images. With a cascade structure of these two levels of optimization, an appropriate balance between the speed and the accuracy can be achieved. Experiments show that our method can effectively eliminate the misalignment caused by cameras' moderate pose changes in the surround-view system. Abstract:Some errors in derivation of the correspondenceless approach of quadric curve based stereo are corrected; and the existence of the solution for the reconstruction of curve are addressed. In order to determine a unique solution, a unique matching theorem are proposed using a trinocular vision setup. Finally some experiments with scenes of mechanical parts are described. It demonstrated that planar curve objects can be reconstructed completely, correctly and quickly by using this approach.
