Abstract:We consider the Lane-Emden system-$\Delta$u = |v| p-1 v,-$\Delta$v = |u| q-1 u in R d. When p $\ge$ q $\ge$ 1, it is known that there exists a positive radial stable solution (u, v) $\in$ C 2 (R d) if and only if d $\ge$ 11 and (p, q) lies on or above the so-called Joseph-Lundgren curve introduced in [5]. In this paper, we prove that for d $\le$ 10, there is no positive stable solution (or merely stable outside a compact set and (p, q) does not lie on the critical Sobolev hyperbola), while for d $\ge$ 11, the Joseph-Lundgren curve is indeed the dividing line for the existence of such solutions, if one assumes in addition that they are asymptotically homogeneous (see Definition 1 below). Most of our results are optimal improvements of previous works in the litterature.

Abstract:We consider the following slightly supercritical problem for the Lane-Emden system with Neumann boundary conditions: \begin{equation*} \begin{cases} -\Delta u_1=|u_2|^{p_\epsilon-1}u_2,\ &in\ \Omega,\\ -\Delta u_2=|u_1|^{q_\epsilon-1}u_1, \ &in\ \Omega,\\ \partial_\nu u_1=\partial_\nu u_2=0,\ &on\ \partial\Omega \end{cases} \end{equation*} where $\Omega=B_1(0)$ is the unit ball in $\mathbb{R}^n$ ($n\geq4$) centered at the origin, $p_\epsilon=p+\alpha\epsilon, q_\epsilon=q+\beta\epsilon$ with $\alpha,\beta>0$ and $\frac1{p+1}+\frac1{q+1}=\frac{n-2}n$. We show the existence and multiplicity of concentrated solutions based on the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction argument incorporating the zero-average condition by certain symmetries. It is worth noting that we simultaneously consider two cases: $p>\frac n{n-2}$ and $p<\frac n{n-2}$. The coupling mechanisms of the system are completely different in these different cases, leading to significant changes in the behavior of the solutions. The research challenges also vary. Currently, there are very few papers that take both ranges into account when considering solution construction. Therefore, this is also the main feature and new ingredient of our work.

Abstract:To our knowledge, this paper is the first attempt to consider the stable solution and extremal solution for the fractional $p$-Laplacian equation: $(-\Delta)_p^s u= \lambda f(u),\; u> 0 ~\text{in}~\Omega;\; u=0\;\text{in}~ \mathbb{R}^N\setminus\Omega$, where $p>1$, $s\in (0,1)$, $N>sp$, $\lambda>0$ and $\Omega$ is a bounded domain with continuous boundary. We first construct the notion of stable solution, and then we prove that when $f$ is of class $C^1$, nondecreasing and such that $f(0)>0$ and $\underset{t\to \infty}{\lim}\frac{f(t)}{t^{p-1}}=\infty$, there exists an extremal parameter $\lambda^*\in (0, \infty)$ such that a bounded minimal solution $u_\lambda$ exists if $\lambda\in (0, \lambda^*)$, and no bounded solution exists if $\lambda>\lambda^*$, no $W_0^{s,p}(\Omega)$ solution exists if in addition $f(t)^{\frac{1}{p-1}}$ is convex. Moreover, this family of minimal solutions are stable, and nondecreasing in $\lambda$, therefore the extremal function $u^*:=\underset{\lambda\to\lambda^*}{\lim}u_\lambda$ exists.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the critical Lane-Emden system \begin{align*} \begin{cases} -\Delta u=K_1(y)v^p,\quad y\in \mathbb{R}^N,&\\ -\Delta v=K_2(y)u^q,\quad y\in \mathbb{R}^N,&\\ u,v>0, \end{cases} \end{align*} where $N\geq 5$, $p,q\in (1,\infty)$ with $\frac{1}{p+1}+\frac{1}{q+1}=\frac{N-2}{N}$, $K_1(y)$ and $K_2(y)$ are positive radial potentials. Under suitable conditions on $K_1(y)$ and $K_2(y)$, we construct a new family of solutions to this system, which are centred at points lying on the top and the bottom circles of a cylinder.

Abstract: We study the Lane-Emden system $$\begin{cases} -\Delta u=v^p,\quad u>0,\quad\text{in}~\Omega, -\Delta v=u^q,\quad v>0,\quad\text{in}~\Omega, u=v=0,\quad\text{on}~\partial\Omega, \end{cases}$$ where $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^2$ is a smooth bounded domain. In a recent work, we studied the concentration phenomena of positive solutions as $p,q\to+\infty$ and $|q-p|\leq \Lambda$. In this paper, we obtain sharp estimates of such multi-bubble solutions, including sharp convergence rates of local maxima and scaling parameters, and accurate approximations of solutions. As an application of these sharp estimates, we show that when $\Omega$ is convex, then the solution of this system is unique and nondegenerate for large $p, q$.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study the Liouville property for the Lane–Emden equation involving the regional fractional Laplacian (−Δ)Ωsu+Vu=h1up+h2in Ω,u=0on ∂Ω, where s∈(0,1) , p >0, h1,h2 are nonnegative functions and Ω⊂RN−1×[0,+∞) with N≥2 , is an unbounded domain satisfying Ωt:={x′∈RN−1:(x′,t)∈Ω} with t≥0 having an increasing monotonicity, that is, Ωt⊂Ωt′ for t′≥t . The potential V(x′,t) decays as t→+∞ . The properties of the limit domain Ω∞:=limt→∞Ωt in RN−1 play an important role to obtain the nonexistence of positive solutions for semilinear elliptic equations with the regional fractional Laplacian. For s∈(0,12] , we provide a surprising nonexistence result if Ω∞ is bounded. This particular phenomenon occurs because of the peculiar properties of the regional fractional Laplacian with the order s∈(0,12] .

Abstract:In this paper, we study then early critical Lane-Emden equations { -Delta u=up-epsilon in Omega, u>0 in Omega, u=0 on partial derivative Omega,where Omega subset of R(N)with N >= 3,p=N+2N-2and epsilon>0 is small.Our main result is that when Omega is a smooth bounded convex domain and the Robin function on Omega is a Morse function, then for small epsilon the equation(& lowast;) has a unique solution, which is also non degenerate.As for non-convex domain, we also obtain exact number of solutions to(& lowast;) under some conditions .In general, the solutions of (& lowast;) may blow-up at multiple points a1,<middle dot><middle dot><middle dot>,a k of Omega as epsilon -> 0.In particular, when Omega is convex, there must be a unique blow-up point(i.e. k=1).In this paper, by using the local Pohozaev identities and blow-up techniques even having multiple blow-up points(non-convex domain),we can prove that such blow-up solution is unique and non degenerate. Abstract:In this paper, we study the local behavior of nonnegative solutions of fractional semilinear equations (−∆)u = u with an isolated singularity, where σ ∈ (0, 1) and n n−2σ < p < n+2σ n−2σ . We first use blow up method and a Liouville type theorem to derive an upper bound. Then we establish a monotonicity formula and a sufficient condition for removable singularity to give a classification of the isolated singularities. Abstract:This paper is devoted to investigate the existence and multiplicity of the normalized solutions for the following fractional Schrodinger equation: {(-Delta)(s)u + lambda u = mu vertical bar u vertical bar(p-2)u + vertical bar u vertical bar(2s)*(-2)u, x is an element of R-N, (P) u > 0, integral(RN) vertical bar u vertical bar(2)dx = a(2), where 0 < s < 1, a, mu > 0, N >= 2, and 2 < p < 2(s)*. We consider the L-2 -subcritical and L-2-supercritical cases. More precisely, in L-2 -subcritical case, we obtain the multiplicity of the normalized solutions for problem (P) by using the truncation technique, concentration-compactness principle, and genus theory. In L-2 -supercritical case, we obtain a couple of normalized solution for (P) by using a fiber map and concentration-compactness principle. To some extent, these results can be viewed as an extension of the existing results from Sobolev subcritical growth to Sobolev critical growth.

By using the method of moving spheres, we obtain the classification results of the solutions in the system.

For sign-coupled systems, these components are of changing and synchronized sign. The approach combines sub-supersolutions method and Leray–Schauder topological degree involving perturbation argument.

Abstract:Point singularities of solutions to the classical Lane-Emden-Serrin equation have a polyhomogeneous asymptotic expansion whose logarithmic corrections are determined by a first order ODE. Surprisingly, we are able to discover such an ODE for the fractional Lane-Emden-Serrin equation, and therefore give a short classification for the precise local behavior of its solutions up to the second order involving a double logarithm. This seems to be the first time that a nonlocal equation is associated to a genuinely local ODE in one dimension. New non-existence, existence and multiplicity results for the corresponding Dirichlet problem are also discussed. Moreover, we construct complete $s$-fractional Yamabe metrics in $\mathbb{R}^n$ which are singular along a smooth submanifold of dimension $(n-2s)/2$, via direct integral asymptotic analysis with global geometric weights. This covers the missing borderline case as suggested by the deep work of Schoen and Yau. While such dimension is maximal in the class of distributional solutions, we conjecture the existence of complete metrics, understood in a suitably generalized sense, with prescribed singularities of strictly higher dimensions.
