Abstract:Intensive blood pressure (BP) control in healthy older adults with hypertension significantly reduces the risk of mild cognitive impairment but not dementia, a large randomised US study has shown.1 Study participants are now being followed up for any reductions in dementia.Hypertension has previously been identified in observational studies as a potentially modifiable risk factor for mild cognitive impairment and dementia.
