Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of multiple solutions to the $L_{p}$-Minkowski problem. We prove if $p<-n$, then for any integer $N>0$, there exists a smooth positive function f on $\mathbb S^n$ such that the $L_{p}$-Minkowski problem admits at least N different smooth solutions. Under a local condition imposed on the potential, we relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum values. In the proofs we apply Szulkin and Weth's generalized Nehari manifold methods, penalization techniques and Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the following singular quasilinear equation, where , $0<\beta <n$ , and f has critical exponential growth at infinity. We establish a compactness lemma for functional and develop some delicate analyses to deal with non-standard difficulties caused by singular term and the compactness issue. We introduce some natural assumptions on the nonlinearity f and obtain the existence of Mountain-pass type solution and ground state solution for above equation. Moreover, two distinct solutions, one has positive energy while the other one has negative energy, are established for the above equation with a perturbation.</n\)<>

Abstract:This paper is concerned with a class of nonhomogeneous quasilinear elliptic system driven by the locally symmetric potential and the small continuous perturbations in the whole-space $\mathbb{R}^N$. By a variant of Clark's theorem without the global symmetric condition and a Moser's iteration technique, we obtain the existence of multiple solutions when the nonlinear term satisfies some growth conditions only in a circle with center 0 and the perturbation term is any continuous function with a small parameter and no any growth hypothesis.

Abstract:We prove the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial weak solutions for the following (p 1 (x), p 2 (x))‐Laplacian equation involving variable exponents: . Using Ricceri's variational principle, we show the existence of at least three weak solutions for the problem. We also apply the variational method and genus theory to establish the existence of infinitely many solutions. Then, we prove the closedness of the set of eigenfunctions, such that p(x) ≡ p.

Abstract:We will prove multiplicity results for the mixed local-nonlocal elliptic equation of the form \begin{eqnarray} \begin{split} -\Delta_pu+(-\Delta)_p^s u&=\frac{\lambda}{u^{\gamma}}+u^r \text { in } \Omega, \\u&>0 \text{ in } \Omega,\\u&=0 \text { in }\mathbb{R}^n \backslash \Omega; \end{split} \end{eqnarray} where \begin{equation*} (-\Delta )_p^s u(x)= c_{n,s}\operatorname{P.V.}\int_{\mathbb{R}^n}\frac{|u(x)-u(y)|^{p-2}(u(x)-u(y))}{|x-y|^{n+sp}} d y, \end{equation*} and $-\Delta_p$ is the usual $p$-Laplace operator. Under the assumptions that $\Omega$ is a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ with regular enough boundary, $p>1$, $n> p$, $s\in(0,1)$, $\lambda>0$ and $r\in(p-1,p^*-1)$ where $p^*$ is the critical Sobolev exponent, we will show there exist at least two weak solutions to our problem for $0<\gamma<1$ and some certain values of $\lambda$. Further, for every $\gamma>0$, assuming strict convexity of $\Omega$, for $p=2$ and $s\in(0,1/2)$, we will show the existence of at least two positive weak solutions to the problem, for small values of $\lambda$, extending the result of \cite{garaingeometric}. Here $c_{n,s}$ is a suitable normalization constant, and $\operatorname{P.V.}$ stands for Cauchy Principal Value.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish existence of infinitely many weak solutions for a class of quasilinear stationary Kirchhoff‐type equations, which involves a general variable exponent elliptic operator with critical growth. Precisely, we study the following nonlocal problem: where Ω is a bounded smooth domain of , with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions on ∂ Ω, the nonlinearity is a continuous function, is a function of the class is a continuous function, whose properties will be introduced later, λ is a positive parameter and . We assume that , where is the critical Sobolev exponent. We will prove that the problem has infinitely many solutions and also we obtain the asymptotic behavior of the solution as λ → 0 + . Furthermore, we emphasize that a difference with previous researches is that the conditions on a (·) are general overall enough to incorporate some interesting differential operators. Our work covers a feature of the Kirchhoff's problems, that is, the fact that the Kirchhoff's function M in zero is different from zero, it also covers a wide class of nonlocal problems for p ( x ) > 1, for all . The main tool to find critical points of the Euler–Lagrange functional associated with this problem is through a suitable truncation argument, concentration‐compactness principle for variable exponent found in Bonder and Silva (2010), and the genus theory introduced by Krasnoselskii. The result of this paper extends or complements, or else completes recent papers and is new in several directions for the stationary Kirchhoff equations involving the p ( x )‐Laplacian type operators.

Abstract:We study the multiplicity of concentrating solutions to the nonlinear fractional Kirchhoff equation ( ε ^2sa+ε ^4s-3b∫ _ℝ^3|(-Δ )^s/2u|^2dx) (-Δ )^s u+V(x)u=f(u) in ℝ^3, where ε >0 is a positive parameter, (-Δ )^s is the fractional laplacian with s∈ (3/4,1), a,b are positive constants, and V is a positive potential such that inf _∂ΛV>inf _ΛV for some open bounded subset Λ⊂ℝ^3. We relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where V attains its minimum in Λ . The proof is based on the Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.

For a suitable function f ( x ) , we establish the existence of multiple solutions by using the Nehari manifold and fibering maps. Moreover, we regard b > 0 as a parameter to obtain the convergence property of solutions for the given problem as b ↘ 0 + by the mountain pass theorem and Ekeland's variational principle.

The authors extend part of the Crandall-Rabinowitz bifurcation theory to this problem. Typical examples are checked in detail and multiplicity of the solutions are illustrated. Then the stability for the associated parabolic equation is considered and a Fujita-type result is presented.

Abstract:We investigate the multiplicity of solutions for a quasilinear scalar field equation with a nonhomogeneous differential operator defined by \begin{eqnarray} Su:=-\mbox{div}\left\{\phi \left(\frac{u^{2}+|\nabla u|^{2}}{2}\right)\nabla u\right\}+\phi\left (\frac{u^{2}+|\nabla u|^{2}}{2}\right)u, \end{eqnarray} where $\phi:[0,+\infty)\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ is a positive continuous function. This operator is introduced by C. A. Stuart [Milan J. Math. 79 (2011), 327-341] and depends on not only $\nabla u$ but also $u$. This particular quasilinear term generally appears in the study of nonlinear optics model which describes the propagation of self-trapped beam in a cylindrical optical fiber made from a self-focusing dielectric material. When the reaction term is concave-convex nonlinearities, by using the Nehari manifold and doing a fine analysis associated on the fibering map, we obtain that the equation admits at least one positive energy solution and negative energy solution which is also the ground state solution of the equation. We overcome two main difficulties which are caused by the nonhomogeneity of the differential operator $S$: (i) the almost everywhere convergence of the gradient for the minimizing sequence $\{u_{n}\}$; (ii) seeking the reasonable restrictions about $S$.

In this paper, we concern some qualitative properties of the following [math]-Laplacian equations with convolution term: − Δpu − ΔNu + V (εx)(|u|p−2u + |u|N−2u) = [|x|−μ ∗ F(u)]f(u),x ∈ RN,u ∈ W1,p(RN) ∩ W1,N(RN), x ∈ RN, where [math] is a positive parameter, [math], [math], [math], [math] and [math] satisfies the critical exponential growth. By using the variational methods and the penalization method, we prove the existence of solutions for the above equations which concentrates at a local minimum of [math] in the semi-classical limit as [math]. Moreover, we obtain the multiplicity of solutions for the above equations by the Morse theory.
