Abstract:The metabolic response to dietary fat intake and its relation with metabolic syndrome (MetS) remains unclear. Here, we identified dietary fat related signature metabolites and characterized their associations with MetS prevalence. We enrolled 236 participants from the Precision Nutrition and Food Safety for Dietary Prevention of Chronic Disease study in China. Nontargeted metabolomics was conducted to investigate plasma metabolome. The signature metabolites in relation to dietary fat intake were assessed using elastic net regression with a 10-fold cross-validation. We identified multi-metabolite profiles comprising of 28, 19, 23, 31, and 25 metabolites, which were robustly correlated with dietary intake of saturated fatty acids, monounsaturated fatty acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), n - 3 PUFAs, and n - 6 PUFAs, respectively (r = .47-.54; p < .001). After adjustment for potential risk factors, metabolic signatures of PUFAs and n - 3 PUFAs were inversely associated with 31% and 48% lower MetS prevalence, respectively. Dietary intake of n - 3 and n - 6 PUFAs ameliorates key metabolites involved in the glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism, arginine biosynthesis, and tricarboxylic acid cycle. Our findings revealed plasma metabolic signatures characterizing dietary fat intake and supported the beneficial role of PUFAs especially n - 3 PUFAs in MetS prevention.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE Circulating microRNAs show cross-sectional associations with overweight and obesity. Few studies provided data to differentiate between a snapshot perspective on these associations versus how microRNAs characterize prodromal risk from disease pathology and complications. This study assessed longitudinal relationships between circulating microRNAs and weight at multiple time-points in the Diabetes Prevention Program trial. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS A subset of participants (n=150) from the Diabetes Prevention Program were included. MicroRNAs were measured from banked plasma using a Fireplex Assay. We used generalized linear mixed models to evaluate relationships between microRNAs and changes in weight at baseline, year-1, and year-2. Logistic regression was used to evaluate whether microRNAs at baseline were associated with weight change after 2 years. RESULTS In fully adjusted models that included relevant covariates, seven miRs (i.e., miR-126, miR-15a, miR-192, miR-23a, and miR-27a) were statistically associated with weight over 2 years. MiR-197 and miR-320a remained significant after adjustment for multiple comparisons. Baseline levels of let-7f, miR-17, and miR-320c were significantly associated with 3% weight loss after 2 years in fully adjusted models. DISCUSSION This study provided evidence for longitudinal relationships between circulating microRNAs and weight. Because microRNAs characterize the combined effects of genetic determinants and responses to behavioral determinants, they may provide insights about the etiology of overweight and obesity in the context or risk for common, complex diseases. Additional studies are needed to validate the potential genes and biological pathways that might be targeted by these microRNA biomarkers and have mechanistic implications for weight loss and disease prevention.

Abstract:SummaryObjectiveObesity is a metabolic disease. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms linking metabolic profiles and weight gain are largely unknown.MethodsHere, we used semi‐targeted metabolomics to assay 156 metabolites selected from 25 key metabolic pathways in plasma samples from 300 non‐smoking healthy women identified from Mano‐A‐Mano, the Mexican American Cohort study. The study subjects were randomly divided into two cohorts: training (N = 200) and testing (N = 100) cohorts. Linear regression and Cox proportional hazard regression were used to assess the effect of body mass index (BMI) at baseline on metabolite levels and the effects of metabolites on significant weight gain during a 5‐year follow‐up.ResultsAt baseline, we observed 7 metabolites significantly associated with BMI in both training and testing cohorts. They were Methyl succinate, Asparagine, Urate, Kynurenic acid, Glycine, Glutamic acid, and Serine. In further analysis, we identified 6 metabolites whose levels at baseline predicted significant weight gain during 5‐year follow‐up in both cohorts. They were Acetylcholine, Leucine, Hippuric acid, Acetylglycine, Urate, and Xanthine.ConclusionsThe findings establish the baseline metabolic profiles for BMI, and suggest new metabolic targets for researchers attempting to understand the molecular mechanisms of weight gain and obesity.

Novel Interactions Between Circulating microRNAs and Gut Microbiota Composition in Human Obesity.

Abstract:Abstract Background: Unbalances in microRNAs (miRNA) and gut microbiota patterns have been proposed as putative factors concerning onset and development of obesity and other metabolic diseases. However, the determinants that mediate the interactions between miRNAs and the gut microbiome impacting on obesity are scarcely understood. Thus, the aim of this article was to investigate possible interactions between circulating miRNAs and gut microbiota composition in obesity. Method: The analyzed sample comprised 78 subjects with obesity [cases, body mass index (BMI): 30 – 40 kg/m 2 ] and 25 eutrophic individuals (controls, BMI £ 25 kg/m 2 ). The expression of 96 miRNAs was investigated in plasma of all individuals using miRCURY LNA miRNA Custom PCR Panels (Exiqon). Bacterial DNA sequencing was performed following the Illumina 16S protocol. The FDR (Benjamini-Hochberg test, q- value ) correction was used for multiple comparison analyses. Results: A total of 26 circulating miRNAs and 12 bacterial species were found differentially expressed between cases and controls. Interestingly, an interaction among three miRNAs (miR-130b-3p, miR-185-5p, and miR-21-5p) with Bacteroides eggerthi, and BMI levels was evidenced (r 2 = 0.148, P= 0.004). Those miRNAs that correlated with obesity-associated gut bacteria abundance are known to regulate target genes that participate in metabolism-related pathways, such as fatty acid degradation, carbohydrate digestion and absorption, insulin signaling, and glycerolipid metabolism. Conclusion: This study characterized an interaction between the abundance of 4 bacterial species and 14 circulating miRNAs in relation to body adiposity. Moreover, the current study also suggests that miRNAs may serve as a communication mechanism between the gut microbiome and human hosts. Clinical trial registration : clinicaltrials.gov (reg. no. Abstract:Infant consumption of human milk (HM) is associated with a reduced risk of overweight and obesity, but the reasons for this relationship are not completely understood. There is emerging evidence that micro RNAs (miRNAs) regulate infant development and metabolism, but the associations between HM miRNAs and infant growth remain poorly understood. We examined the relationship between HM miRNA consumption and infant obesity in 163 mother–infant dyads to determine (1) if miRNA profiles differentiate infants with obesity, and (2) if individual miRNAs accurately predicted infant obesity status at one year of age. Infant obesity was categorized as weight-for-length (WFL) Z scores or conditional weight gain (CWG) in the 95th percentile. HM miRNA profile was associated with infant age (r2 = 6.4%, p = 0.001), but not maternal obesity status (r2 = 1.5%, p = 0.87) or infant weight status (WFL Z-score) at birth (r2 = 0.6%, p = 0.4), 1 month (r2 = 0.5%, p = 0.6), or 4 months (r2 = 0.8%, p = 0.2). Nine HM miRNAs were associated with either 12-month CWG or 12-month WFL Z scores. Among these 9 miRNAs, miR-224-5p remained significant in a logistic regression model that accounted for additional demographic factors (estimate = −27.57, p = 0.004). These findings suggest involvement of HM miRNAs and particularly miR-224-5p in infant growth, warranting further investigation. To our knowledge, this is the largest study of HM miRNAs and early-life obesity and contributes to the understanding of the relationship between HM miRNAs and infant growth.

Abstract:mircoRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles on regulation of gene expressions. Aberrant expression of miRNAs was involved in various biological and pathological processes, including tumorigenesis of breast cancer. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were implicated in altered expression or biological functions of mature miRNAs. To explore the relevance of miRNA polymorphisms and female physiological characteristics to breast cancer risk, SNPs located within hsa-miR-605 (rs2043556), hsa-miR-149 (rs2292832), hsa-miR-27a (rs895819), hsa-miR-196a-2 (rs11614913) and hsa-miR-618 (rs2682818) were selected, and their associations with breast cancer risk were analysed. In addition, associations between physiological characteristics-related factors and breast cancer risk were estimated too. We found that the ones with menarche age less than 16 years had increased breast cancer risk (OR = 2.10, 95% CI: 1.23-3.60). Marginally significant association between rs11614913 CT/CC genotypes and reduced breast cancer risk was observed (OR = 0.65, 95% CI: 0.40-1.06), while no significance was detected about the other miRNA polymorphisms. We concluded that menarche at less than 16 years old increased breast cancer risk, while the genetic variants in miR-196-a-2 might decrease the risk.
Identification of Serum Circulating MicroRNAs as Novel Diagnostic Biomarkers of Gastric Cancer

Abstract:Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the leading causes of cancer-associated deaths worldwide. Due to the lack of typical symptoms and effective biomarkers for non-invasive screening, most patients develop advanced-stage GC by the time of diagnosis. Circulating microRNA (miRNA)-based panels have been reported as a promising tool for the screening of certain types of cancers. In this study, we performed differential expression analysis of miRNA profiles of plasma samples obtained from gastric cancer and non-cancer patients using two independent Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets: GSE113486 and GSE124158. We identified three miRNAs, hsa-miR-320a, hsa-miR-1260b, and hsa-miR-6515-5p, to distinguish gastric cancer cases from non-cancer controls. The three miRNAs showed an area under the curve (AUC) over 0.95 with high specificity (>93.0%) and sensitivity (>85.0%) in both the discovery datasets. In addition, we further validated these three miRNAs in two external datasets: GSE106817 [sensitivity: hsa-miR-320a (99.1%), hsa-miR-1260b (97.4%), and hsa-miR-6515-5p (92.2%); specificity: hsa-miR-320a (88.8%), hsa-miR-1260b (89.6%), and hsa-miR-6515-5p (88.7%); and AUC: hsa-miR-320a (96.3%), hsa-miR-1260b (97.4%), and hsa-miR-6515-5p (94.6%)] and GSE112264 [sensitivity: hsa-miR-320a (100.0%), hsa-miR-1260b (98.0%), and hsa-miR-6515.5p (98.0%); specificity: hsa-miR-320a (100.0%), hsa-miR-1260b (100.0%), and hsa-miR-6515.5p (92.7%); and AUC: hsa-miR-320a (1.000), hsa-miR-1260b (1.000), and hsa-miR-6515-5p (0.988)]. On the basis of these findings, the three miRNAs can be used as potential biomarkers for gastric cancer screening, which can provide patients with a higher chance of curative resection and longer survival.

Abstract:Although insulin resistance (IR) is a key pathophysiologic condition underlying various metabolic disorders, impaired cellular glucose uptake is one of many manifestations of metabolic derangements in the human body. To study the systems-wide molecular changes associated with obesity-dependent IR, we integrated information on plasma proteins and microRNAs in eight obese insulin-resistant (OIR, HOMA-IR > 2.5) and nine lean insulin-sensitive (LIS, HOMA-IR < 1.0) normoglycemic males. Of 374 circulating miRNAs we profiled, 65 species increased and 73 species decreased in the OIR compared to the LIS subjects, suggesting that the overall balance of the miRNA secretome is shifted in the OIR subjects. We also observed that 40 plasma proteins increased and 4 plasma proteins decreased in the OIR subjects compared to the LIS subjects, and most proteins are involved in metabolic and endocytic functions. We used an integrative -omics analysis framework called iOmicsPASS to link differentially regulated miRNAs with their target genes on the TargetScan map and the human protein interactome. Combined with tissue of origin information, the integrative analysis allowed us to nominate obesity-dependent and obesity-independent protein markers, along with potential sites of post-transcriptional regulation by some of the miRNAs. We also observed the changes in each -omics platform that are not linked by the TargetScan map, suggesting that proteins and microRNAs provide orthogonal information for the progression of OIR. In summary, our integrative analysis provides a network of elevated plasma markers of OIR and a global shift of microRNA secretome composition in the blood plasma.

Abstract:Background: Obesity is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases; however, in obese heart failure (HF) patients live longer than lean HF patients, this observation is known as obesity paradox. MicroRNAs (miRs) regulate processes involved in both cardiac remodeling and obesity. Objective: We investigated whether the levels of circulating miRs in HF patients are influenced by obesity. Methods: In this case–control study, twenty HF patients (10 obese and 10 lean) and 10 healthy control individuals were analyzed using Affymetrix GeneChip miRNA 4.0 Array following manufacturer's instruction. Raw data was normalized using the Robust Multiarray Average method, batch effect was adjusted with Surrogate Variable Analysis, pairwise differential expression analysis was carry-out with Limma R package, and miRPath v3.0 was used to interrogate pathways enriched for the dysregulated miRNAs based on validated targets from Tarbase v7.0 and KEGG pathways annotation database. Bioinformatics and statistical analysis were performed using R and a p-value <0.01 was considered significant. Results and conclusions: We discovered a set of 36 and 48 miRNAs that were differentially expressed in obese HF and lean HF, respectively, in relation to controls. Thirteen miRNAs were commonly dysregulated in both HF groups. In addition, we found hsa-miR-451a to be up-regulated in obese HF in relation to controls, as well as to lean HF patients, suggesting that obesity may accentuate its dysregulation. On the other hand, hsa-miR-4738-5p, hsa-miR-1260a, and hsa-miR-98-5p were differentially expressed in lean HF in relation to both remaining groups. Pathways enrichment analysis suggested that hsa-miR-451a regulates genes from the mTOR signaling pathway (p=0.002), whereas hsa-miR-1260a modulates Hippo (p=0.02) and AMPK (p=0.03) signaling pathways, all of which have been previously related to cardiac hypertrophy. Further investigation and validation of their targets may contribute to a better understanding of the obesity paradox.

Abstract:Background Skeletal muscle mass wasting almost invariably accompanies bone loss in elderly, and the coexistence of these two conditions depends on the tight endocrine crosstalk existing between the two organs, other than the biomechanical coupling. Since the current diagnostics limitation in this field, and given the progressive population aging, more effective tools are needed. The aim of this study was to identify circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) as potential biomarkers for muscle mass wasting in post‐menopausal osteoporotic women. Methods One hundred seventy‐nine miRNAs were assayed by quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction in plasma samples from 28 otherwise healthy post‐menopausal osteoporotic women (73.4 ± 6.6 years old). The cohort was divided in tertiles based on appendicular skeletal muscle mass index (ASMMI) to better highlight the differences on skeletal muscle mass (first tertile: n = 9, ASMMI = 4.88 ± 0.40 kg·m−2; second tertile: n = 10, ASMMI = 5.73 ± 0.23 kg·m−2; third tertile: n = 9, ASMMI = 6.40 ± 0.22 kg·m−2). Abstract:Objective: In previous epigenome-wide association studies, Hypoxia inducible Factor 3 Alpha Subunit (HIF3A) DNA methylation has been reported to be associated with body mass index (BMI) and weight change. However, none of these studies have included Mexican Americans. Methods: In the current study, we assessed levels of HIF3A methylation in 927 Mexican American women identified from Mano-A-Mano, the Mexican American Cohort study. Results: Significantly higher methylation levels at three CpG sites (position 46801557, 46801642, and 46801699) were observed in obese women compared to non-obese women (P < 0.05). Furthermore, we found that elevated methylation levels at those three CpG sites were associated with significant weight gain (P < 0.05), defined as an increase in BMI by at least one category between the baseline and the followup, with a median follow-up time of 39 months. Then, using pre-diagnostic blood DNA samples, we found increased DNA methylation at CpG 46801642 to be associated with a 1.35-fold increased risk of breast cancer (Hazard Ratio (HR) = 1.35, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 1.02, 3.01), with a median follow-up time of 127 months. Using the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) data, we further found that levels of HIF3A were significantly higher-methylated and down-regulated in breast tumor than in normal tissues (P < 1 x 10(12) for both). Conclusion: Thus, our results provide evidence to support the role of HIF3A in obesity, weight gain, and the development of breast cancer. (c) 2020 Asia Oceania Association for the Study of Obesity. Abstract:Obesity is a complex condition that is characterized by excessive fat accumulation, which can lead to the development of metabolic disorders, such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and cardiovascular diseases. Evidence is accumulating that circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) act as a new class of endocrine factor. These miRNAs are released by many types of tissue, including adipose tissues. miRNAs might serve as endocrine and paracrine messengers that facilitate communication between donor cells and tissues with receptor cells or target tissues, thereby potentially having important roles in metabolic organ crosstalk. Moreover, many miRNAs are closely associated with the differentiation of adipocytes and are dysregulated in obesity. As such, circulating miRNAs are attractive potential biomarkers and hold promise for the development of miRNA-based therapeutics (such as miRNA mimetics, anti-miRNA oligonucleotides and exosomes loaded with miRNA) for obesity and related disorders. Here we review the latest research progress on the roles of circulating miRNAs in metabolic organ crosstalk. In addition, we discuss the clinical potential of circulating miRNAs as feasible biomarkers for the assessment of future risk of metabolic disorders and as therapeutic targets in obesity and related diseases.
Circulating MicroRNA Responses between ‘High’ and ‘Low’ Responders to a 16-Wk Diet and Exercise Weight Loss Intervention

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Interactions between diet, physical activity and genetic predisposition contribute to variable body mass changes observed in response to weight loss interventions. Circulating microRNAs (c-miRNAs) may act as 'biomarkers' that are associated with the rate of change in weight loss, and/or play a role in regulating the biological variation, in response to energy restriction.OBJECTIVE: To quantify targeted c-miRNAs with putative roles in energy metabolism and exercise adaptations following a 16 wk diet and exercise intervention in individuals with large (high responders; HiRes) versus small (low responders; LoRes) losses in body mass.METHODS: From 89 male and female overweight/obese participants who completed the intervention (energy restriction from diet, 250 kcal/d, and exercise, 250 kcal/d), subgroups of HiRes (>10% body mass loss, n = 22) and LoRes (<5% body mass loss, n = 18) were identified. From resting plasma samples collected after an overnight fast pre and post intervention, RNA was extracted, quantified and reverse transcribed. Thirteen c-miRNA selected a priori were analysed using a customised 96-well miScript miRNA PCR Array.RESULTS: Loss of body mass (-11.0 ± 2.3 kg vs. -3.0 ± 1.3 kg; P<0.01) and fat mass (-11.1 ± 2.6 kg vs. -3.9 ± 1.6 kg; P<0.01) was greater for HiRes than LoRes (P<0.001). Expression of c-miR-935 was higher in LoRes compared to HiRes pre- (~47%; P = 0.025) and post- (~100%; P<0.01) intervention and was the only c-miRNA differentially expressed at baseline between groups. The abundance of c-miR-221-3p and -223-3p increased pre- to post-intervention in both groups (~57-69% and ~25-90%, P<0.05). There was a post-intervention increase in c-miR-140 only in LoRes compared to HiRes (~23%, P = 0.016).CONCLUSION: The differential expression and responses of selected c-miRNAs in overweight/obese individuals to an exercise and diet intervention suggests a putative role for these 'biomarkers' in the prediction or detection of individual variability to weight loss interventions.

Abstract:Zinc exposure has been linked with disordered glucose metabolism and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) development. However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. We conducted population-based studies and in vitro experiments to explore potential role of miRNAs in zinc-related hyperglycemia and T2DM. In the discovery stage, we identified plasma miRNAs expression profile for zinc exposure based on 87 community residents from the Wuhan-Zhuhai cohort through next-generation sequencing. MiRNAs profiling for T2DM was also performed among 9 pairs newly diagnosed T2DM-healthy controls. In the validating stage, plasma miRNA related to both of zinc exposure and T2DM among the discovery population was measured by qRT-PCR in 161 general individuals derived from the same cohort. Furthermore, zinc treated HepG2 cells with mimic or inhibitor were used to verify the regulating role of miR-144-3p. Based on the discovery and validating populations, we observed that miR-144-3p was positively associated with urinary zinc, hyperglycemia, and risk of T2DM. In vitro experiments confirmed that zinc-induced increase in miR-144-3p expression suppressed the target gene Nrf2 and downstream antioxidant enzymes, and aggravated insulin resistance. Our findings provided a novel clue for mechanism underlying zinc-induced glucose dysmetabolism and T2DM development, emphasizing the important role of miR-144-3p dysregulation.

Abstract:The incidence of childhood obesity and metabolic syndrome has grown notably in the last years, becoming major public health burdens in developed countries. Nowadays, oxidative stress is well-recognized to be closely associated with the onset and progression of several obesity-related complications within the framework of a complex crosstalk involving other intertwined pathogenic events, such as inflammation, insulin disturbances, and dyslipidemia. Thus, understanding the molecular basis behind these oxidative dysregulations could provide new approaches for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of childhood obesity and associated disorders. In this respect, the transcriptomic characterization of miRNAs bares great potential because of their involvement in post-transcriptional modulation of genetic expression. Herein, we provide a comprehensive literature revision gathering state-of-the-art research into the association between childhood obesity, metabolic syndrome, and miRNAs. We put special emphasis on the potential role of miRNAs in modulating obesity-related pathogenic events, with particular focus on oxidative stress.

Circulating miRNAs as Biomarkers of Subclinical Atherosclerosis associated to Severe Obesity before and after Bariatric Surgery

Abstract:Introduction: severe obesity results in high cardiovascular risk, increasing morbidity and mortality. New and improved methods are needed to detect cardiovascular diseases rapidly in severe obesity. microRNAs (miRNAs) has shown promise as diagnostic tools. This study aimed to identify plasma miRNAs useful as biomarkers of cardiovascular risk (CVR) in people with severe obesity. Methods: The study included 66 people with severe obesity classified in groups with atheroma (n = 32) and free of plaques (n = 34). Plasma samples were collected 1 month before bariatric surgery and at 6 and 12 months of follow-up. Participants were screened for the levels of 188 miRNAs, and 24 promising candidates were individually validated by quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Results: After validation, 5 of the 24 miRNAs showed significant differences over time in both groups: miR-375 increased after bariatric surgery, whereas miR-144-5p, miR-20a-3p, miR-145-5p and miR-21-3p exhibited decreased expression after bariatric surgery. The expression of 3 of the 24 miRNAs also differed between patients with and without atheroma: subjects with plaque had lower miR-126 but higher miR-21-3p and miR-133a-3p. Only miR-133a-3p exhibited exceptional discriminatory ability between subjects with and without plaque (area under the curve, 0.90; 95% confidence interval, 0.81-0.99). Conclusion: A specific signature of c-miRNA comprising miR-375, miR-144-5p, miR-20a-3p, miR-145-5p and miR-21-3p may facilitate CVR monitoring after bariatric surgery. Furthermore, miR-21-3p, miR-126-3p and miR-133a-3p show potential as specific biomarkers for subclinical atherosclerosis, with miR-133a-3p potentially able to diagnose subclinical atherosclerosis early in severe obesity.

Abstract:Obesity is the most important risk factor for endometrial cancer (EC). This study demonstrated that specific microRNAs (miRNAs), significantly deregulated in obese EC patients, may modulate expression of genes involved in obesity‐related pathways. By restoring the physiological levels of these miRNAs, it would be possible to develop a complementary strategy for treating EC in obese patients, in addition to anti‐estrogenic, anti‐diabetic, and weight‐loss strategiesEndometrial cancer (EC) is the most prevalent gynecological cancer in high‐income countries. Its incidence is skyrocketing due to the increase in risk factors such as obesity, which represents a true pandemic. This study aimed to evaluate microRNA (miRNA) expression in obesity‐related EC to identify potential associations between this specific cancer type and obesity. miRNA levels were analyzed in 84 EC patients stratified based on body mass index (BMI; ≥30 or <30) and nine noncancer women with obesity. The data were further tested in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) cohort, including 384 EC patients, 235 with BMI ≥30 and 149 with BMI <30. Prediction of miRNA targets and analysis of their expression were also performed to identify the potential epigenetic networks involved in obesity modulation. In the EC cohort, BMI ≥30 was significantly associated with 11 deregulated miRNAs. The topmost deregulated miRNAs were first analyzed in 84 EC samples by single miRNA assay and then tested in the TCGA dataset. This independent validation provided further confirmation about the significant difference of three miRNAs (miR‐199a‐5p, miR‐449a, miR‐449b‐5p) in normal‐weight EC patients versus EC patients with obesity, resulting significantly higher expressed in the latter. Moreover, the three miRNAs were significantly correlated with grade, histological type, and overall survival. Analysis of their target genes revealed that these miRNAs may regulate obesity‐related pathways. In conclusion, we identified specific miRNAs associated with BMI that are potentially involved in modulating obesity‐related pathways and that may provide novel implications for the clinical management of obese EC patients.
