Abstract:Soil organic matter is an important component of soil, and its spatiotemporal dynamics is of great significance for precision agriculture as well as global sustainable development. Visible and near-infrared reflectance (VIS - NIR) spectroscopy provides an efficient method to estimate the soil organic content (SOC) quickly and effectively. In this study, the quantitative relationships between the VIS-NIR and SOC were explored using Partial Least Square Regression (PLSR). The performances of four data preprocessing methods including Standard Normal Variate (SNV), Multiplicative Scatter Correction (MSC), De-trend and Savitzky-Golay (SO) Smoothing were compared. Results indicated that PLSR models with De-trend pretreatment held the best accuracy, in which the spectral bands of 450-619 nm, 760-909 nm, 1968-2001 nm were especially important for estimating SOC.
