The protective effect of Shenfu Injection against myocardium ischemia reperfusion injury in open heart surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass：a systematic review and Meta analysis

Abstract:Objective To systematically evaluate the protective effect of Shenfu Injection (SFI) against myocardium is-chemia reperfusion injury in open heart surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Methods An extensive search was performed within the Cochrane library, PubMed, MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINK, Wanfang Data, CBM, VIP up to January 2014. The included studies were evaluated strictly. RevMan 5.2 was used for data analysis. Results Seven randomized controlled trails (RCTs) were discovered. Comparisons of the SFI group and the control group, SFI combined with routine treatment showed better effect on CK-MB [W MD=-23.86, 95%CI (-29.58,-18.14), P<0.000 01], LDH [W MD=-103.31, 95%CI (-143.70,-62.92), P<0.000 01], cTnⅠ[W MD=-0.18, 95%CI (-0.19,-0.16), P<0.000 01], automatic rebeating after operation [OR =4.52, 95%CI (1.91, 10.66), P=0.0006]. Conclusion SFI has a certain protective effect against myocardium IRI. However, further rigorously designed RCTs are warranted because of insufficient methodological rigor in the majority of included trials.
