Abstract:Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio is a collection of classical Chinese short stories created by Pu Songling, a Qing Dynasty novelist in China. It is known as a representative work of ancient Chinese classical short stories. Since its inception, it has been loved by the public and subsequently translated into multiple languages, spreading overseas. The English version of Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, translated by British sinologist Minford in 2006, was published by Penguin Publishing, a leading publishing house in the UK, and is listed as one of the Penguin Classic series. This article will analyze the unique translation behavior of Minford's translation from the perspective of Bourdieu's sociological theory. In Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, Pu Songling portrays a series of ugly female characters, such as Lin Shi, Lv Wubing, Qiao Nu, etc. Although these women are not beautiful in appearance, they possess a beautiful mind of wisdom, kindness, and righteousness. Pu Songling used the method of comparing beauty and ugliness to describe them, greatly enhancing the artistic charm of Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, while expressing his own ideals and reflecting his unique aesthetic pursuit of progressive women's views.

Abstract:As we all know, in "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio", Pu Songling gave a large description about love story. During a long period of time, many researchers and critics analyzed the female images and their view of marriage. There are three crucial stages of researches with many critics speaking highly of the view of marriage from the females in "Strange Stories From a Chinese Studio", especially when it comes to females' bold courtship and free marriage. The third stage of research, that is, since the nineties, however, the questions of the female images in the book started rising among the researchers. And not only that, even Pu Songling's psychology has been taken into consideration. Based on this point of view, I hope to re-analyze the female images in "Strange Stories From a Chinese Studio" with different angels, also with consideration of author's psychology. By starting with the well-known chapters, this paper won't lay one-sided emphasis on "free", "progressive" to analyze the females, but with the expectation that readers can truly realize how hard and miserable the females are at that time.

Abstract:Caizijiaren - style novels and the Strange Stories from a Lonely Studio, rising in the early Qing Dynasty, created a large number of female figures. By describing their violation of normal standard and carrying forward female talents, the author expre'ssed their strong discontent with the traditional feudal ethics, and reflected their wishes to free themselves at that time. The difference is that caizijiaren - style novels tend to describe talented females in their dream, categorization in their figures, simplicity in their character, lack of hard basis of life. However, the strange stories form Chinese studio described carefully and vividly about talented females in reality.

Abstract:Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio is one of the brilliant classical Chinese short stories in which females are described from the male perspective. The work presents diverse images of females who are not male private property or accessories any longer. As daughters, wives and mothers, they express the strong sense of feminism in a patriarchal society. The paper explores the images of five typical females from daughterhood, wifehood and motherhood based on Pu Songling’s description. These independent and avant-garde female images are the projection of Pu’s subconscious, which illustrates his advanced thought and reveals the social value of female.

Abstract:The object of this study is ancient Chinese literature, and its subject is the depiction of female characters in the literary works of Ancient China. The following research methods were chosen: meaningful analysis of specific female images in ancient Chinese literature; a comparative analysis of the typical characters of female characters, a comparative historical analysis of the images of women in literary works of various periods in the development of Ancient China, a historical analysis of the influence of literary works on the formation of female self-awareness. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that it is an analysis of female images in the literature of Ancient China from various points of view: in terms of historical development, terms of typical characters, and in terms of influence on modern women. Based on the results of the work done, the following conclusions are drawn: female images in Chinese literature have rapidly transformed as Chinese society has developed. The courageous and determined characters of literature have helped real Chinese females to boost their self-confidence to start fighting for their rights.

But with the advent of economic globalization, cultural output also become a part of the communication of civilization, there is no denying that many foreigners to China still have a misunderstanding, the translation of Chinese women literature image more easily moving heart, able to produce lasting to foreign audiences and subtle role, affecting people abroad for China’s views and cognition. Abstract:The object of this article is the image of "new woman" in Russian and Chinese literature. The subject of the study is the correlation between the characters of two heroines, Zijun and Marianna, who are the bearers of a new female identity, in the story "Mourning the Dead" by Lu Xun and the novel "Virgin Soil" by I. S. Turgenev. The aim of the study is to identify the main factors that determined different outcomes of the storyline of these characters, despite the similarity of their fates. In order to achieve the set goal, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: 1) to reveal the personality of the two characters by analyzing their life path, as well as the beginning and end of their respective love; 2) to analyze the author's intention based on the socio-historical context of the period of creation of these two works. The following methods were used during the study: comparative method, method of holistic analysis of a literary work, as well as cultural-historical method. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the article is the first attempt to compare Lu Xun's short story "Mourning the Dead" with I. S. Turgenev's novel " Virgin Soil ", with special attention paid to the opposite denouement of the stories of Zijun and Marianna. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that the outcome of the fates of these heroines is directly related to their perceptions of their own lives and love, which are conditioned, in turn, by the different intentions of the authors regarding the logic of the development of their characters. The scientific significance of the study lies in the fact that the data obtained not only reveal the ideas about the image of the "new woman" in general, but also contribute to a deep comparative understanding of the analyzed books, which can contribute to the field of comparative literary studies between Russia and China.

Abstract:This article is a study of female images in modern Chinese literary works. The author analyzes the evolution of representations of women in modern Chinese literature and their important role in the democratization of society. Through an examination of the works of authors such as Lu Xun, Lao She, Chen Zhongshi, Yu Hua and others, the article reveals diverse aspects of women's experiences, including social injustice, discrimination and exploitation. In addition, the author highlights the influence of literature in shaping public opinion about the role and rights of women, and discusses possible paths towards creating a more equal and inclusive society in the future. The subjects of the study are the works of modern Chinese writers and the female images of these literary works. The main research materials are the modern Chinese literary works of various genres and movements, including novels, short stories, poems and essays. Research methods – analysis of literary sources on the research topic, comparative analysis, content analysis, interpretation of texts, historical method. The purpose of the study is to analyze and evaluate ideas about female characters in modern Chinese literary works, taking into account their influence on the processes of democratization of society. The scientific novelty of this study lies in the fact that it represents an initial research look at female images in modern Chinese literature and their influence on the processes of democratization of society. The work is based on the analysis of contemporary literary works and includes the study of various aspects of women's experience in the context of Chinese culture and society. As a result of the study, new trends and patterns in the representation of female characters will be identified, as well as new approaches to understanding and solving the problems of gender inequality and social discrimination in Chinese society will be formulated.
The Origins of Female Figures in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio

Abstract:There are something in common between PU Song ling's wife and the female figures of his novel: they are all good at housekeeping, with inner directed, capable of sacrifice , with stronger ability to exist than males. Directly coming from Pu's ideal and his concern for and understanding of females , these female figures transcend to some degree the limits of family ethic, and highlight the feminine identity of females but not their identity of wife or motherhood. PU Song ling distributed in his full strength all the virtues ,such as beauty, youth, freedom ,and even his humor and poetics to females, but only admiration left to males.

Abstract:In this work is studied the image of a female as a literary character in the stories of the Ukrainian writer Lesya Ukrainka’s (1871-1913) and Turkish writer Suad Derviş’s (1905–1972). For this purpose, for female images are analyzed in to the focus called works of Lesya Ukrainka's “What a Pity” (“Жаль”), “The City of Sorrow” (“Місто смутку”), “Loud Strings” (“Голосні струни”) and works of Suad Derviş “A Thief”, “The City I Passed Through”, “The Funeral”. The aim of the study is to analyze the dominant female images in the stories of Ukrainian and Turkish authors of the late XIX – first half of the XX century. Analysis of the stories of Ukrainian writer Lesya Ukrainka and Turkish writer Suad Dervis allows realizing the task of gender representation, including common types of female images, which became fundamental in short epic genres of authors and identify distinctive cultural accents in authors’ works from different national literatures. In addition, the study attempts to compare the female characters in the stories of Ukrainian writer Lesya Ukrainka and Turkish writer Suad Dervis. The chosen approach allows a deeper understanding and study of such relations between them as: common – special – unique, panhuman – national. Common conceptual and methodological plane in research for phenomena being compared is genre (story), stylistic (modern and realistic works to be analyzed), thematic (social perspective) and typological (typology of female images in realistic prose) aspects.

Abstract:From Jin to Qing Dynasty of China, there are a large number of novels depicting human-ghost romance. In this literature, female images, femininity and gender relationship patterns reflect the patriarchal values of a specific historical period. Previous research on ancient Chinese female ghost novels often focused on their romantic story with a male human and the awakening consciousness of female, but the research on Character depiction of female ghost was very few. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the relationship between the image shaping of female ghosts and the values of contemporary Chinese ancient patriarchal society, existing in the stories of the ancient Chinese romances novels of Song, Yuan and Ming dynasty. Studies have suggested that the female ghosts in ancient Chinese "human-ghost romance" novels are essentially projections of the male author's ideals, reflecting the phallocentrism of ancient Chinese ghost fiction.

Abstract:The novels “Exiled Immortal” and “A Touch of Green” are included in Bai Xianyong’s novels The New Yorker and Taipei People, respectively. In Bai Xianyong’s works, the concern for women is a constant topic, and he transforms himself into a combination of rationality and sensibility, sculpts the contours of the times and society, and captures the image of women in the plot through the language and behavioral details between reality and fiction. The tragic dimension magnifies the existence of women, the ups and downs of fate, the sadness of a foreign land, or the loss of self as a way to think about the dilemma of women’s existence. This paper focuses on female tragedy from a three-dimensional perspective: the causes, the deep narrative techniques, and the tragic endings. The study seeks to deepen the understanding of the delicate sense of female tragedy in the writing of Bai Xianyong.

Abstract:In Strange Tales From Liaozhai,Pu Songling constructed a group of distinctive images of women.This article tries to redefine "the Pu's female images" from the reality and the illusion worlds created by Pu Songling,that is,the ordinary women in reality and the fox fairies,ghosts,flower-spirits etc.Through the analysis of these vivid female images and the pattern of the construction,this article concentrates on the text to contrast the roles played by the female characters and their unique personalities in their daily life and in their love and marriage.Compared with the male characters,Pu devotes more love to the female roles.The individualities and spirit of the female images declare the brand new mood of the society,and also reflect the female consciousness of Pu Songling.

Abstract:The article compares systematically the works of Russian rural prose school and Chinese Beijing school from the point of view of reflection of female image in the works, analyzes the similarities and differences between them, as well as the reasons for their emergence from the position of comparative literary typology, taking into account the ontology of creativity. The village is the land where Russian and Chinese cultures grew and flourished, and rural literature written in the village gained a high reputation in both Russia and China during the period of great social transformations. The subject of the study is the characteristics of women's images in Russian and Chinese literature. The aim of the work is to analyze and compare female images in authors from Russia and China. Research methods – analysis of literary sources on the topic of research. Results of the research: the study of literary works from Russia and China on the theme of rural life was carried out, the portrayal of the female image by the authors of the two countries was compared. Conclusion. The works show an attempt to transform society through the pursuit of traditional culture and morality, in order to achieve an ideal state of society, full of love and freedom. The similarity of national-cultural narratives, themes and artistic styles makes the works of the Russian rural prose school comparable to the works of the Chinese Beijing school of simple fiction, but the differences between the historical and cultural background, religious beliefs and poetic soil of Russia and China make the works of these two schools of writing somewhat different.

Abstract:The changing culture of the Desert in Western China is described in detail in Xuemo’s works. One of his novels, Into the Desert, focuses on two female characters, Ying’er and Lanlan, who are bartered into marriage because their families are poor. They come to believe that their hardships in life are due to their poverty and can be alleviated by running away to Salt Lake, a place in the northwestern region, will improve their lives. During this trip, they encounter, overcome and survive many perils. When they reach their destination and struggle to reach their goals, they come to realize that they are still ordinary mortal women who can be abused without mercy by others. They finally admit that against their wills, they and many other women are powerless and must submit to their predestinated fates. The broader implication of this story is that women live at the mercy of men as the ultimate victims. Into the Desert, describes this suffering and, in so doing, stresses that it needs to be alleviated, especially among the rural women now being trampled on repeatedly, by reforming the way of life is passed down from generation to generation.
