Abstract:In 1982, Durnberger proved that every connected Cayley graph of a finite group with a commutator subgroup of prime order contains a hamiltonian cycle. In this paper, we extend this result to the infinite case. Additionally, we generalize this result to a broader class of infinite graphs $X$, where the automorphism group of $X$ contains a transitive subgroup $G$ with a cyclic commutator subgroup of prime order.

Abstract:We prove that if Cay(G;S) is a connected Cayley graph with n vertices, and the prime factorization of n is very small, then Cay(G;S) has a hamiltonian cycle. More precisely, if p, q, and r are distinct primes, then n can be of the form kp with k < 32 and k not equal to 24, or of the form kpq with k < 6, or of the form pqr, or of the form kp^2 with k < 5, or of the form kp^3 with k < 3.

Abstract:- We propose the correspondence between the Hamiltonian cycle (HC) problem in graph theory and the quantum Z2 lattice gauge theory (QZ2LGT) defined on the lattice dual to that graph. For the QZ2LGT, when the coupling parameter g is less than the critical value gc, the ground state is a superposition of all configurations with closed strings of same spins, which can be obtained by using an adiabatic quantum algorithm. A subsequent search for a HC among those closed strings solves the original HC problem. The method is demonstrated for random samples of small graphs.

Abstract:An oriented graph is an orientation of a simple graph. In 2009, Keevash, Kühn and Osthus proved that every sufficiently large oriented graph $D$ of order $n$ with $(3n-4)/8$ is Hamiltonian. Later, Kelly, Kühn and Osthus showed that it is also pancyclic. Inspired by this, we show that for any given constant $t$ and positive integer partition $n = n_1 + \cdots + n_t$, if $D$ is an oriented graph on $n$ vertices with minimum semidegree at least $(3n-4)/8$, then it contains $t$ disjoint cycles of lengths $n_1,\ldots , n_t$. Also, we determine the bounds on the semidegree of sufficiently large oriented graphs that are strongly Hamiltonian-connected, $k$-ordered Hamiltonian and spanning $k$-linked.

Abstract:A mixed dihedral group is a group H with two disjoint subgroups X and Y , each elementary abelian of order , such that H is generated by , and . In this paper, we give a sufficient condition such that the automorphism group of the Cayley graph is equal to , where A ( H , X , Y ) is the setwise stabiliser in of . We use this criterion to resolve a question of Li et al. (J Aust Math Soc 86:111-122, 2009), by constructing a 2-arc-transitive normal cover of order of the complete bipartite graph and prove that it is not a Cayley graph.

Abstract:Finding general conditions which ensure that a graph is Hamiltonian is a central topic in graph theory. An old and well known conjecture in the area states that any $d$-regular $n$-vertex graph $G$ whose second largest eigenvalue in absolute value $\lambda(G)$ is at most $\frac{d}{C}$, for some universal constant $C>0$, has a Hamilton cycle. In this paper, we obtain two main results which make substantial progress towards this problem. Firstly, we settle this conjecture in full when the degree $d$ is at least a small power of $n$. Secondly, in the general case we show that $\lambda(G) \leq \frac{d}{C(\log n)^{1/3}}$ implies the existence of a Hamilton cycle, improving the 20-year old bound of $\frac{d}{ \log^{1-o(1)} n}$ of Krivelevich and Sudakov. We use in a novel way a variety of methods, such as a robust Pósa rotation-extension technique, the Friedman-Pippenger tree embedding with rollbacks and the absorbing method, combined with additional tools and ideas. Our results have several interesting applications, giving best bounds on the number of generators which guarantee the Hamiltonicity of random Cayley graphs, which is an important partial case of the well known Hamiltonicity conjecture of Lovász. They can also be used to improve a result of Alon and Bourgain on additive patterns in multiplicative subgroups.

This conjecture has recently been settled for graphs defined by intersecting set systems, which feature prominently throughout combinatorics. In this expository article, we retrace these developments and give an overview of the many different ingredients in the proofs.

Abstract:The characterization of distance-regular Cayley graphs originated from the problem of identifying strongly regular Cayley graphs, or equivalently, regular partial difference sets. In this paper, a classification of distance-regular Cayley graphs on dicyclic groups is obtained. More specifically, it is shown that every distance-regular Cayley graph on a dicyclic group is a complete graph, a complete multipartite graph, or a non-antipodal bipartite distance-regular graph with diameter $3$ satisfying some additional conditions.

Abstract:Recently, several works by a number of authors have provided characterizations of integral undirected Cayley graphs over generalized dihedral groups and generalized dicyclic groups. We generalize and unify these results in two different ways. Firstly, we work over arbitrary non-abelian finite groups admitting an abelian subgroup of index 2. Secondly, our main result actually characterizes integral mixed Cayley graphs over such finite groups, in the spirit of a very recent result of Kadyan--Bhattarcharjya in the abelian case.

Abstract:The finite dihedral group generated by one rotation and one flip is the simplest case of the non-Abelian group. Cayley graphs are diagrammatic counterparts of groups. In this paper, much attention is given to the Cayley graph of the dihedral group. Considering the characteristics of the elements in the dihedral group, we conduct the model of discrete-time quantum walk on the Cayley graph of the dihedral group by special coding mode. This construction makes Fourier transformation be used to carry out spectral analysis of the dihedral quantum walk, i.e. the non-Abelian case. Furthermore, the relation between quantum walk without memory on the Cayley graph of the dihedral group and quantum walk with memory on a cycle is discussed, so that we can explore the potential of quantum walks without and with memory. Here, the numerical simulation is carried out to verify the theoretical analysis results and other properties of the proposed model are further studied.

Abstract:We prove that for every $\varepsilon > 0$ there exists $n_0=n_0(\varepsilon)$ such that every regular oriented graph on $n > n_0$ vertices and degree at least $(1/4 + \varepsilon)n$ has a Hamilton cycle. This establishes an approximate version of a conjecture of Jackson from 1981. We also establish a result related to a conjecture of Kühn and Osthus about the Hamiltonicity of regular directed graphs with suitable degree and connectivity conditions.

Abstract:A Cayley graph of a group H is a finite simple graph Γ such that its automorphism group Aut(Γ) contains a subgroup isomorphic to H acting regularly on V(Γ), while a Haar graph of H is a finite simple bipartite graph Σ such that Aut(Σ) contains a subgroup isomorphic to H acting semiregularly on V(Σ) and the H-orbits are equal to the partite sets of Σ. It is well-known that every Haar graph of finite abelian groups is a Cayley graph. In this paper, we prove that every finite non-abelian group admits a non-Cayley Haar graph except the dihedral groups D6, D8, D10, the quaternion group Q8 and the group Q8×Z2. This answers an open problem proposed by Estélyi and Pisanski in 2016.

Abstract: The Hamiltonian cycle (HC) problem in graph theory is a well-known NP-complete problem. We present an approach in terms of $\mathbb{Z}_2$ lattice gauge theory (LGT) defined on the lattice with the graph as its dual. When the coupling parameter $g$ is less than the critical value $g_c$, the ground state is a superposition of all configurations with closed strings of spins in a same single-spin state, which can be obtained by using an adiabatic quantum algorithm with time complexity $O(\frac{1}{g_c^2} \sqrt{ \frac{1}{\varepsilon} N_e^{3/2}(N_v^3 + \frac{N_e}{g_c}}))$, where $N_v$ and $N_e$ are the numbers of vertices and edges of the graph respectively. A subsequent search for a HC among those closed-strings solves the HC problem. For some random samples of small graphs, we demonstrate that the dependence of the average value of $g_c$ on $\sqrt{N_{hc}}$, $N_{hc}$ being the number of HCs, and that of the average value of $\frac{1}{g_c}$ on $N_e$ are both linear. It is thus suggested that for some graphs, the HC problem may be solved in polynomial time. A possible quantum algorithm using $g_c$ to infer $N_{hc}$ is also discussed.
