Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to investigate interval-valued intuitionistic uncertain linguistic multi-attribute group decision making with incomplete weight information and interactive conditions. In order to obtain the comprehensive attribute values of alternatives, the induced generalized Shapley interval-valued intuitionistic uncertain linguistic hybrid Choquet averaging (IGS-IVIULHCA) operator is defined, which globally considers not only the importance of elements and the ordered positions but also their correlations. Based on gray relational analysis (GRA) method, models for the optimal fuzzy measures are constructed. Then, a new decision approach is developed, which considers the interactive characteristics between elements in a set. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the proposed approach and demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.

Abstract:Intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs) are very suitable to be used for depicting uncertain or fuzzy information. Motivated by the idea of power aggregation [R.R. Yager, The power average operator, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics-Part A 31 (2001) 724–731], in this paper, we develop a series of operators for aggregating IFNs, establish various properties of these power aggregation operators, and then apply them to develop some approaches to multiple attribute group decision making with Atanassov’s intuitionistic fuzzy information. Moreover, we extend these aggregation operators and decision making approaches to interval-valued Atanassov’s intuitionistic fuzzy environments.

Abstract:Integration plays a very important role in the fusion methods. In this paper, we put forward the subtraction and division definite integrals based on the fuzzy measure and the admissible order for aggregating not only discrete but also continuous correlative intuitionistic fuzzy information. These definite integrals are implemented by constructing the integrands and the integral limits respectively, and based on which an approach to multi-criteria decision making with correlative intuitionistic fuzzy information is developed. Finally, an illustrative example involving technology improvement of Midwest American Manufacturing Corp is employed to verify the practicality and effectiveness of our approach.

Abstract:The intuitionistic fuzzy multiple attribute decision making problems are investigated, where the attribute values are given as real numbers and the decision makers have preference information on attributes. The provided preference information is expressed in the form of intuitionistic judgment matrix or incomplete intuitionistic judgment matrix. Some concepts, such as intuitionistic judgment matrix, consistent intuitionistic judgment matrix, incomplete intuitionistic judgment matrix, and consistent incomplete intuitionistic judgment matrix, are introduced. Then, two models are established for multiple attribute decision making based on intuitionistic judgment matrix and incomplete intuitionistic judgment matrix, respectively, and a model is established for multiple attribute group decision making based on intuitionistic judgment matrices and incomplete intuitionistic judgment matrices. Furthermore, an approach is developed to multiple attribute decision making based on different intuitionistic preference structures. The method does not need to unify different preference structures and can derive the optimal weight vector from the established model directly, which can avoid losing or distorting the original preference information in the process of unifying the structures. Finally, the developed approach is applied to the evaluation of the competence of enterprise technology innovation in Jiangsu province.

Abstract:In this paper we present a new approach to solve multi-attribute decision making problems in intuitionistic fuzzy environment. This approach is based on a new ranking method of intuitionistic fuzzy sets, in which the evaluated values (in the form of intervals) of the same alternative with different attributes are considered as one unified entity. According to people's intuition, the ranking method proposed in this paper is mainly grounded on a revised score function and a revised accuracy function of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Different from the traditional methods, in this new approach, the degree of membership, the degree of nonmembership and the degree of hesitation are considered with various importance in reflecting the true image of the respective alternative. Furthermore, an optimization model is established to estimate the relative degree of importance of each quantity. Finally, two practical examples are provided to illustrate our approach.

Abstract:With respect to intuitionistic fuzzy information, this paper presents the induced intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid weighted Einstein aggregation I-IFHWEA operator and the induced intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid geometric Einstein aggregation I-IFHGEA operator, which overcome the drawback in the existing reference. To deal with the situations where elements in a set are correlative, the induced intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid Shapley weighted Einstein aggregation I-IFHSWEA operator and the induced intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid Shapley geometric Einstein aggregation I-IFHSGEA operator are defined, which can be seen as an extension of some intuitionistic fuzzy operators based on additive measures. When the information about the weight vector is partly known, models based on the relative projection are established, by which the optimal fuzzy measure can be obtained. After that, an approach to multi-attribute group decision making under intuitionistic fuzzy environment is developed, and an illustrative example is provided to demonstrate its practicality and feasibility.

Abstract:Since intuitionistic fuzzy set only deals with uncertainty but not periodicity, therefore to overcome, this situation complex intuitionistic fuzzy set is a better tool that deals with both uncertainty and periodicity. Also, Bonferroni mean operator has the advantage of considering interrelationships between parameters, but it deals with only the crisp data. Recently, to deal with fuzzy data, many extensions of Bonferroni operators have been developed. Motivated by the CIFS and BM operators, in this paper, we proposed some Dombi Bonferroni mean operators to deal with CIF information. Dombi Bonferroni mean operators are special cases of general T-conorm and T-norm, which have the advantage of good flexibility with a general parameter. We proposed the complex intuitionistic fuzzy Dombi Bonferroni mean (CIFDBM) operator, complex intuitionistic fuzzy Dombi weighted Bonferroni mean (CIFDWBM) operator, complex intuitionistic fuzzy Dombi geometric Bonferroni mean (CIFDGBM) operator, and complex intuitionistic fuzzy Dombi weighted geometric Bonferroni mean (CIFDWGBM) operator. Some properties of the developed operators are discussed in detail, and different cases are investigated. Moreover, a multicriteria group decision-making (MCGDM) method is developed based on the proposed aggregation operators. Finally, a numerical example of information security management evaluation is given in order to demonstrate the application and effectiveness of the proposed approach. A comparative study is also conducted in order to show the advantage of the developed method.

Abstract:Because of the complexity of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set, there are few literatures investigating the additive consistency of the interval-valued intuitionistic preference relation. This paper proposes a group decision making approach with interval-valued intuitionistic preference relations. Firstly, two additive reciprocal fuzzy preference relations and two fuzzy non-preferred relations are obtained by dividing an interval-valued intuitionistic preference relation in order to avoid the operations of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. Here, the fuzzy non-preferred relation is interpreted as the non-preferred intensity of one alternative over another one. Moreover, the rational concept of additive consistency of interval-valued intuitionistic preference relation is defined. Secondly, optimizing models to derive priority weight vector from interval-valued intuitionistic preference relation are constructed. In particular, the priority weight vector is in terms of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, which is rational under the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment. Thirdly, an extended approach to address group decision making (GDM) problems is proposed. Each individual expert’s consistency index is applied to measure his/her degree of importance. Finally, an illustrative example of supplier selection is provided to illustrate the proposed approach addressing GDM problems. The feasibility to derive priority weight vector in terms of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers using the developed approach is verified. And the proposed approach is compared with the other conventional existing ones to show its advantages.

Abstract:There exists little investigation on multiattribute decision making under intuitionistic fuzzy environments although both crisp and fuzzy multiattribute decision making have achieved a great progress. In this paper, multiattribute decision making problems using intuitionistic fuzzy sets are investigated and the TOPSIS is further extended to develop one new methodology for solving such problems. In this methodology, an interval fractional programming model is constructed on the basis of the relative closeness coefficient using the TOPSIS. Comprehensive evaluation of each alternative, which may be described as an intuitionistic fuzzy set or interval number, is calculated using two auxiliary mathematical programming problems derived from the interval fractional programming model proposed in this paper. Optimal degrees of membership for alternatives are calculated to determine their ranking order using the concept of likelihood based on the ranking method of interval numbers. Implementation process of the method proposed in this paper is illustrated with a numerical example.

Abstract:The concept of intuitionistic fuzzy sets is the generalization of the concept of fuzzy sets. The theory of intuitionistic fuzzy sets is well suited to dealing with vagueness. Recently, intuitionistic fuzzy sets have been used to build soft decision making models that can accommodate imprecise information, and two solution concepts about the intuitionistic fuzzy core and the consensus winner for group decision-making have also been developed by other researchers using intuitionistic fuzzy sets. However, it seems that there is little investigation on multicriteria and/or group decision making using intuitionistic fuzzy sets with multiple criteria being explicitly taken into account. In this paper, multiattribute decision making using intuitionistic fuzzy sets is investigated, in which multiple criteria are explicitly considered, several linear programming models are constructed to generate optimal weights for attributes, and the corresponding decision-making methods have also been proposed. Feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are illustrated using a numerical example.

Abstract:The superiority and inferiority ranking (SIR) method is a generation of the well-known PROMETHEE method, which can be more efficient to deal with multi-criterion decision making (MCDM) problem. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs), as an important extension of fuzzy sets (IFs), include both membership functions and non-membership functions and can be used to, more precisely describe uncertain information. In real world, decision situations are usually under uncertain environment and involve multiple individuals who have their own points of view on handing of decision problems. In order to solve uncertainty group MCDM problem, we propose a novel intuitionistic fuzzy SIR method in this paper. This approach uses intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators and SIR ranking methods to handle uncertain information; integrate individual opinions into group opinions; make decisions on multiple-criterion; and finally structure a specific decision map. The proposed approach is illustrated in a simulation of group decision making problem related to supply chain management.

Abstract:In multiple attribute group decision making, the weights of decision makers are very crucial to ranking results and have gained more and more attentions. A new approach to determining experts’ weights is proposed based on the TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) method in intuitionistic fuzzy setting. The weights determined by our method have two advantages: the evaluation value has a large weight if it is close to the positive ideal evaluation value and far from negative ideal evaluation values at the same time, otherwise it is assigned a small weight; experts have different weights for different attributes, which are more appropriate for real decision making problems since each expert has his/her own knowledge and expertise. The multiple attribute intuitionistic fuzzy group decision making algorithm has been proposed which is suitable for different situations about the attribute weight information, including the attribute weights are known exactly, partly known and unknown completely. A supplier selection problem and the evaluation of murals in a metro line are finally used to illustrate the feasibility, efficiency and practical advantages of the developed approaches.

Abstract:In some actual decision-making problems, experts may be hesitant to judge the performances of alternatives, which leads to experts providing decision matrices with incomplete information. However, most existing estimation methods for incomplete information in group decision-making (GDM) neglect the hesitant judgments of experts, possibly making the group decision outcomes unreasonable. Considering the hesitation degrees of experts in decision judgments, an approach is proposed based on the triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs) and TODIM (interactive and multiple criteria decision-making) method for GDM and consensus measure. First, TIFNs are applied to handle incomplete information due to the hesitant judgments of experts. Second, considering the risk attitudes of experts, a decision-making model is proposed to rank alternatives for GDM with incomplete information. Subsequently, based on measuring the concordance between solutions, a consensus model is presented to measure the group's and individual's consensus degrees. Finally, an illustrative example is presented to show the detailed implementation procedure of the proposed approach. The comparisons with some existing estimation methods verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach for handling incomplete information. The impacts and necessities of experts' hesitation degrees are discussed by a sensitivity analysis.

Abstract:Intuitionistic fuzzy preference relation has turned out to be a powerful structure in representing the decision makers' preference information especially when the decision makers are not able to express their preferences accurately due to the unquantifiable information, incomplete information, unobtainable information, partial ignorance, and so forth. The aim of this paper is to develop some techniques for group decision making with intuitionistic fuzzy preference information. Based on the multiplicative consistency of intuitionistic fuzzy preference relation, three algorithms are proposed for intuitionistic fuzzy group decision making. In the case that the decision makers act as separate individuals, the priority vector of each decision maker can be derived directly from the individual intuitionistic fuzzy preference relation, after which an overall priority vector is obtained by synthesizing those individual priorities together. As for the scenario that the decision makers act as one individual, two different algorithms based on the multiplicative consistency are proposed to deal with this case. The main idea of the former procedure is firstly constructing a social intuitionistic fuzzy preference relation, while that of the later is building a fractional programming model. Some practical examples are given to demonstrate the developed algorithms.

Abstract:Multi-attribute decision making under uncertainty is a usual task in our daily life. In the decision making process, the decision information provided by the decision maker (or expert) over alternatives may take the form of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, and the weight information on attributes is usually incomplete. To this issue, we first transform the original decision matrix, whose elements are intuitionistic fuzzy numbers expressed by pairs of satisfaction degrees and dissatisfaction degrees, into its expected decision matrix, whose elements are composed of satisfaction degrees and hesitation degrees. We introduce the concept of dominated alternative, and give a method to identify the dominated alternatives. Then we develop an interactive method for eliminating any dominated alternatives by updating the decision maker's preferences gradually so as to find out the optimal one eventually. A further extension of the interactive method to interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy situations is given, and the solution process of this interactive method is shown in detail through an illustrative example.

Abstract:For problems in multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM), this paper defines intuitionistic interval numbers, and the operational laws and comparison method of it. Some intuitionistic interval information aggregation operators are proposed, such as intuitionistic interval weighted arithmetic averaging operator, intuitionistic interval weighted geometric averaging operator, intuitionistic interval ordered weighted averaging operator, intuitionistic interval heavy averaging operator and intuitionistic interval aggregating operator. Then, based on intuitionistic interval fuzzy information, a method is developed to handle the problems in MCGDM. In this method, by applying the knowledge level of the experts to the decision making problem, the model of maximizing comprehensive membership coefficient is constructed to determine the weights of decision makers. By calculating the distances to the ideal and negative ideal solutions, the comprehensive attribute values and the rank of the alternatives can be obtained. Finally, an example is provided to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:Multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM) problems are complex issues often faced by decision makers. In the decision making process, to deal with fuzziness and hesitation, the decision criteria provided by decision makers may take the form of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. In this paper, we propose an automatic ranking approach for MCGDM under an intuitionistic fuzzy environment. We first propose a new method for the construction of an intuitionistic fuzzy outranking relation to exploit a ranking problem. Then we extend the intuitionistic fuzzy ELECTRE III method to take into account group decision techniques and develop an automatic approach to achieving group opinion satisfaction, which can avoid forcing the decision makers to modify their decision matrices. Finally, a numerical example for supplier evaluation is provided to elucidate the details of the proposed method.

Abstract:The aim of this article is to investigate the approach to multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) with intuitionistic fuzzy information. We first introduce a deviation measure between two intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, and then utilize the intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid aggregation operator to aggregate all individual intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrices into a collective intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrix. Based on the deviation measure, we develop an optimization model by which a straightforward formula for deriving attribute weights can be obtained. Furthermore, based on the intuitionistic fuzzy weighted averaging operator and information theory, we utilize the score function and accuracy function to give an approach to ranking the given alternatives and then selecting the most desirable one(s). In addition, we extend the above results to MAGDM with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information.

Abstract:The multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problem with intuitionistic fuzzy information investigated in this paper is very useful for solving complicated decision problems under uncertain circumstances. Since experts have their own characteristics, they are familiar with some of the attributes, but not others, the weights of the decision makers to different attributes should be different. We derive the weights of the decision makers by aggregating the individual intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrices into a collective intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrix. The expert has a big weight if his evaluation value is close to the mean value and has a small weight if his evaluation value is far from the mean value. For the incomplete attribute weight information, we establish some optimization models to determine the attribute weights. Furthermore, we develop several algorithms for ranking alternatives under different situations, and then extend the developed models and algorithms to the MAGDM problem with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information. Numerical results finally illustrate the practicality and efficiency of our new algorithms.

Abstract:Intuitionistic fuzzy set was studied by many authors because it is a powerful technique to depict uncertainty, which is a set containing three functions: the membership function; the nonmembership function; and the hesitancy function. The aggregation of intuitionistic fuzzy values (IFVs) is of paramount importance in decision making. In this paper, we research IFVs aggregation problems, where there exist a prioritization relationship over the aggregated arguments. First, we propose the generalized intuitionistic fuzzy prioritized weighted geometric operator based on Archimedean t-conorm and t-norm. Then, some of its desirable properties and special cases are investigated in detail. Furthermore, a multicriteria group decision-making problems is formulated with IFVs using the proposed operator. Finally, the validity and applicability of the proposed method, as well as analysis of the comparison with different generator functions, are illustrated with a real example about talent introduction. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
