Abstract:Epoxidation of propylene to make propylene oxide catalyzed by μ-oxo-bismetalloporphyrins is investigated.The results indicate that the reaction temperature,reaction time,molar ratio of acraldehyde to propylene,and concentration and type of catalysts have significant effects on the reaction.The appropriate reaction conditions are as follows:100℃,1.5 h,500 rpm for stirring velocity,n (acraldehyde) ∶n (propylene)=0.625,catalyst concentration at 9.72×10-5mol％.The central metal and substituent group ofμ-oxo-bismetalloporphyrins also have influence on catalytic activity.The catalytic activity order of different substituent group of μ-oxo-bismetalloporphyrins are —OCH3 ＞—H＞—F.With different central metal,the catalytic activity order are Fe＞Cu.Of which the best catalytic result is given by [T(p-OCH3) PPFe] 2 O,with the yield,selectivity and conversion rate being 27.31％,93.95％ and 29.06％ respectively.

Abstract:A new catalytic system for oxidation of alcohols with oxygen catalyzed by N -hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI) combined with HNO 3 and CuBr 2 has been developed. This system can effectively catalyze oxidation of primary benzylic alcohols to corresponding aldehydes with high selectivities (up to 100 %). A mechanism for the oxidation of alcohols catalyzed by NHPI/HNO 3 /CuBr 2 is proposed.

Abstract:Ni（OAc）2 combined with pyridine and tert-Butylhydroperoxide（TBHP） affords selective catalytic aerobic oxidations of benzylic C-Hs and alcohols under mild conditions（80~90 ℃,O2 0.1 MPa）.The effects of ligand,solvent,temperature and the nature of the peroxide additives were investigated to give an optimised oxidation protocol for these compounds.In the oxidation of the benzylic C-Hs,a high ketone/alcohol selectivity were obtained.Ni（III） was detected by ESR,and the mechanism was verified.Competition experiments revealed that formation of the carbonyl compounds is not a result of further oxidation of the alcohols.It is suggested that ketone are a product of metal-catalysed decomposition of the hydroperoxide.

Abstract:A metal free highly efficient and concise oxidative-coupling ether formation between 1,3-diarylallylic sp 3 C-H and aliphatic alcohols promoted by 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanoquinone (DDQ) is reported. This system is also applied to form C-S bonds from 1,3-diarylpropylene and thiols/thiophenols. The corresponding diarylallyl ethers/thioethers are obtained in good yields.

Abstract:Abstract An aryl iodide catalyzed intramolecular oxidative transformation of diphenylpropanamide derivatives is described that can readily afford the C–N/C–O coupling products in a single step. The speed of the 1,3-aryl iodide migration process determines the diversity of target compound generation in this reaction. This straightforward approach can be performed with the use of inexpensive and readily available catalyst, transition-metal-free, mild conditions and good functional group tolerance.

Abstract:C-O bond cleavage of allylic alkyl ether was realized in a Pd-catalyzed hydrogen-bond-activated allylic alkylation using only alcohol solvents. This procedure does not require any additives and proceeds with high regioselectivity. The applicability of this transformation to a variety of functionalized allylic ether substrates was also investigated. Furthermore, this methodology can be easily extended to the asymmetric synthesis of enantiopure products (99% ee).

Abstract:Deoxygenative difunctionalization of carbonyls represents a convenient route to construct complex molecules considering the readily available aldehyde and ketone compounds. The present approaches typically rely on strategies via carbene, carbanion, or carbocation equivalents. Herein, combined with dual nickel/photoredox catalysis regime, we developed a strategy through a radical intermediate to achieve the deoxygenative arylboration of aldehydes. Compared with the known patterns of carbon–oxygen (C–O) bond transformations, this coupling of C-OBPin unit opens a direction for this chemistry. A wide variety of substrates bearing a diverse set of functional groups were compatible with this method under very mild conditions (visible light, ambient temperature, no strong base) to afford the benzylic boronic esters, which have important versatilities in organic synthesis.

Abstract:The formation of aldehydes and ketones via selective oxidation of alcohols is an essential transformation in organic synthesis. However, the usually harsh reaction conditions using toxic metal catalysts or corrosive reagents lead to undesired side products and wastes. Environmentally friendly and mild reaction conditions using metal-free catalysts remain a huge challenge. Herein, we report the use of a thiophene-based covalent triazine framework (CTF) as pure organic and visible-light-active photocatalyst for the selective oxidation of alcohols at room temperature. Molecular oxygen was activated as a clean and selective oxidant. The high selectivity and efficiency of the pure organic photocatalyst could be demonstrated and were comparable to those of the state-of-art metal or nonmetal catalytic systems reported.

Abstract:Organohalides are found to be effective catalysts for dehydrative O-alkylation reactions between alcohols, providing selective, practical, green, and easily scalable homo- and cross-etherification methods for the preparation of useful symmetrical and unsymmetrical aliphatic ethers from the readily available alcohols. Mechanistic studies revealed that organohalides are regenerated as reactive intermediates and recycled to catalyze the reactions.

Abstract:A very simple bishydrazone-type ligand, glyoxal bis(phenylhydrazone) (L1), was found to effectively promote the CuI-catalyzed O-arylation of phenols with aryl bromides. This cross-coupling reaction proceeded in acetonitrile at 60-80 degrees C in the presence of K3PO4 as base. A diverse array of phenols and bromoarenes was employed as Substrates to afford diaryl ethers in good to excellent yields, and some base-sensitive groups, such as ester, aldehyde, and ketone groups, can survive under the mild reaction conditions. Abstract:Aerobic epoxidation of tertiary allylic alcohols remains a significant challenge. Reported here is an efficient and highly chemoselective copper-catalyzed epoxidation and semipinacol rearrangement reaction of tertiary allylic alcohols with molecular oxygen. The solvent 1,4-dioxane activates dioxygen, thereby precluding the addition of a sacrificial reductant.

Abstract:A new method for intermolecular sp3-sp3 C-C bond formation between primary aliphatic alcohol and olefin by use of a RhCl(PPh3)3 (cat.)/BF3.OEt2 (2.5 equiv)/BuBr (0.5 equiv)/toluene system was first disclosed, which possessed quite significant utilities for organic synthesis, especially for that of secondary alcohols. The most significant aspect is the discovery that rhodium-catalyzed C-H bond activation of alcohols is feasible under Lewis acid-promoted conditions.

Abstract:Couplings between (hetero) aryl chlorides and phenols can be effectively promoted by CuI in combination with an N-aryl-N'-alkyl-substituted oxalamide ligand to proceed smoothly at 120 degrees C. For this process, N-aryl-N'-alkyl-substituted oxalamides are more effective ligands than bis(N-aryl)-substituted oxalamides. Awide range of electron-rich and electron-poor aryl and heteroaryl chlorides gave the corresponding coupling products in good yields. Satisfactory conversions were achieved with electron-rich phenols as well as a limited range of electron-poor phenols. Catalyst and ligand loadings as low as 1.5 mol% are sufficient for the scaled-up variants of some of these reactions.

Abstract:A cobalt-catalyzed selective dioxygenation of styrenes with N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI) was developed using molecular oxygen as the terminal oxidant. Alcohol and ketone products can be selectively formed from identical substrates by catalyst control. The reaction was applicable to a broad range of styrenes and exhibited good functional group tolerance. It provided a method for preparation of 1,2-diol or α-hydroxyketone derivatives.
