Suppose that the non- negative continuous potential V represents a potential well with the bottom V-1 (0) and f is an element of C(R, R) satisfies certain assumptions. We obtain the existence of ground state solutions by using the variational methods. Moreover, the concentration behavior of the ground state solutions as lambda -> infinity is also worth considering.

Abstract:We are concernedwith the following Kirchhoff-type equation with exponential critical nonlinearities -(a + b integral(R2) |del u| (2)dx) Delta u + (h(x) + mu V(x))u = K (x)f(u) in R-2,R- where a, b, mu > 0, the potential V has a bounded set of zero points and decays at infinity as |x|(-gamma) with gamma epsilon (0, 2), the weight K has finite singular points and may have exponential growth at infinity. By using the truncation technique and working in some weighted Sobolev space, we obtain the existence of a mountain pass solution for mu > 0 large and the concentration behavior of solutions as mu -> + infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following Kirchhoff type problem{−(a+b∫R3|∇u|2dx)Δu+λV(x)u=|u|p−2uinR3,u∈H1(R3), where a>0 is a constant, b and λ are positive parameters, and 2<p<6. Suppose that the nonnegative continuous potential V represents a potential well with the bottom V−1(0), the equation has been extensively studied in the case 4≤p<6. In contrast, no existence result of solutions is available for the case 2<p<4 due to the presence of the term (∫R3|∇u|2dx)Δu. By combining the truncation technique and the parameter-dependent compactness lemma, we prove the existence of positive solutions for b small and λ large in the case 2<p<4. Moreover, we also explore the decay rate of the positive solutions as |x|→∞ as well as their asymptotic behavior as b→0 and λ→∞.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study the following Kirchhoff-type equation {-(a + b integral(R3)vertical bar del u vertical bar(2)dx)Delta u + V(x)u = f(u), x is an element of R-3; u is an element of H-1(R-3), where a>0 and b>0 are constants. Suppose that the nonnegative continuous potential V is not an asymptotic constant at infinity, and f satisfies some relatively weak conditions in the absence of the usual Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz type condition or monotonicity condition on f(t)/t(3). The result of this paper can be applied to the case where f(t) = vertical bar t vertical bar(p-2)t with 2 < p <= 4. By using some new techniques and subtle analysis, we prove that the above problem admits at least one ground state solution. It is worth mention that our result generalize those obtained in Li and Ye [Existence of positive ground state solutions for the nonlinear Kirchhoff type equations in R3. J Differ Equ. 2014;257:566-600], Tang and Chen [Ground state solutions of Nehari-Pohozaev type for Kirchhoff-type problems with general potentials. Calc Var Partial Differ Equ. 2017;56:110-134], Guo [Ground states for Kirchhoff equations without compact condition. J Differ Equ. 2015;259:2884-2902] and some other related literatures. In particular, we give a proof for the Pohoaev type identity associated with the above equation, when V is unbounded.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of Kirchhoff type equations with concave and convex nonlinearities and steep potential well. Firstly, we obtain a positive energy solution u_b,λ^ + by a truncated functional. Furthermore, the concentration behavior of u_b,λ^ + is also explored on the set V −1 (0) as λ → ∞. Secondly, we also give the existence of a negative solution u_b,λ^ - via Ekeland variational principle. Finally, we show a nonexistence result of the nontrivial solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the nonlinear Kirchhoff type equation with a steep potential well - ( a + b∫_ℝ^3|∇ u|^2dx)Δ u + λ V(x)u = f(u) in ℝ^3, where a, b > 0 are constants, λ is a positive parameter, V ∈ C (ℝ 3 , ℝ) is a steep potential well and the nonlinearity f ∈ C (ℝ, ℝ) satisfies certain assumptions. By applying a sign-changing Nehari manifold combined with the method of constructing a sign-changing ( PS ) C sequence, we obtain the existence of ground state sign-changing solutions with precisely two nodal domains when λ is large enough, and find that its energy is strictly larger than twice that of the ground state solutions. In addition, we also prove the concentration of ground state sign-changing solutions.

By adopting a sign-changing Nehari manifold and parameter perturbation technique, we obtain the existence of least energy sign-changing solutions for lambda large and b small, and also show that its energy is strictly larger than two times the ground state energy. Abstract:The existence of positive solutions for Kirchhoff type problem with multiple critical nonlineari-ties was investigated by using variational method.Firstly,it was proved that the energy functional pos-sessed mountain pass geometry and got a (PS)c sequence.Then,it was demonstrated that the (PS)c se-quence contained strong convergent subsequence through the boundedness of the (PS)c sequence,the non triviality of weak limit,and the property of radial symmetry space.Therefore,the energy functional has at least one nontrivial critical point and the problem has at least one nontrivial solution.Consequent-ly,it is achieved that the nontrivial solution is positive.

Abstract:This article is about the following Kirchhoff-Schrodinger-Poisson system with steep potential well {-(a+b integral R-3|del u|(2)dx)triangle u + lambda V(x)u + mu phi(x)u = f(x,u)+h(x)|u|(alpha) in R-3, -triangle phi=u(2), in R-3, (1.1) where a,b,lambda > 0 are constants, mu > 0, and 0 < alpha < 1,f is an element of C(R(N)xR,R). By using the variational principle, we overcome the difficulties caused by Poisson's term and obtain system (1.1) that has two nontrivial solutions under certain assumptions. Moreover, we study the concentration of solutions and obtain new conclusions of system (1.1). Finally, we present the case where the solution to system (1.1) does not exist.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the following nonlinear problem of Kirchhoff type with critical Sobolev exponent: where a, b > 0 are constants. Under certain assumptions on the sign‐changing function f(x,u), we prove the existence of positive solutions by variational methods. Our main results can be viewed as a partial extension of a recent result of He and Zou in [Journal of Differential Equations, 2012] concerning the existence of positive solutions to the nonlinear Kirchhoff problem where ϵ > 0 is a parameter, V (x) is a positive continuous potential, and with 4 < p < 6 and satisfies the Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz type condition.
