Abstract:We proposed and studied the sensing properties based on the surface plasmon resonance technology in a hollow prism. The ATR spectra of the RI of liquid from 1.30 to 1.38 is calculated by using the light source of 532nm, the corresponding angular resolution is about 21.25°/RIU. The highest angular resolution of 34.44°/RIU is got at a thickness of 40nm for the silver film. This configuration can be used as bio-chemical sensor based on sensing RI change to measure the concentration of NaCl solution.
