Abstract:A novel and highly efficient Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling of triarylbismuths with a variety of P(O)-H compounds has been developed that proceeds smoothly without exclusion of moisture or air and provides a general and powerful tool for the preparation of various valuable arylphosphonates, arylphosphinates, and arylphosphine oxides, with high atom-economy, operational simplicity of the procedure, and good to high yield. The coupling reaction is the first example of transition-metal-catalyzed C-P bond construction using triarylbismuth compounds as substrates. DFT calculations reveal that C-P bond formation is the rate-determing step.

Abstract:A highly efficient and environmentally-friendly base-mediated transition metal-free direct thiophlic catalytic approach has been reported for the synthesis of S-benzhydryl-phosphorothioates by reacting phosphite nucleophiles with diarylmethanethione. A wide variety of thioketones were coupled with different phosphite derivatives to provide the corresponding phosphorothioates in good to excellent yields. The control experiments, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations relies on the regio-selective thiophilic addition of phosphite nucleophile via umpolung protocols.

Abstract:The direct synthesis of organic phosphorus compounds from white phosphorus (P4) is a longstanding challenge in organic synthesis. Here, we present a novel visible light‐induced three‐component functionalization reaction that integrates P4, disulfide compounds, and N‐hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI) esters to produce alkyl‐substituted phosphonodithioates in a one‐pot process. Using 2,4,5,6‐tetrakis(carbazol‐9‐yl)‐1,3‐dicyanobenzene (4CzIPN) as a photocatalyst, blue LEDs (456 nm) as the light source, and N,N‐diisopropylethylamine (DIPEA) as the reducing agent in an acetone‐toluene solvent system, this method achieves moderate to good yields of structurally diverse phosphonodithioates. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions, ensures complete conversion of P4, avoids chlorination, and uses inexpensive, readily available starting materials, offering potential for large‐scale applications.

Abstract:A new method for copper-catalyzed P-C bond formation through reaction of phosphorus nucleophiles with diaryliodonium salts at room temperature is described. Most target products are obtained with this method in high yields within a short reaction time of 10 min. It can be easily adapted to large-scale preparations. When unsymmetrical iodonium salts are employed, nucleophilic substitution occurs preferentially on the sterically hindered aromatic ring or the more electron-deficient ring.

Abstract:Convenient, practical and economical phosphorylation of thiols has been achieved via halogen-and metal-free K2CO3-promoted aerobic oxidative cross-coupling of trialkyl phosphites, dimethyl phenylphosphonite, or methyl diphenylphosphinite with thiophenols using air as the oxidant at room temperature. This transformation provides a straightforward route to the construction of phosphorus-sulfur bonds with wide functional group compatibility, which affords phosphorothioates in up to 94% yield.

Abstract:A copper-catalyzed three-component reaction involving cyclic carbonates, elemental sulfur, and H-phosphonates is presented. It proceeds with excellent yields and provides an attractive approach for the construction of valuable trisubstituted allenyl phosphorothioates using a one-step strategy. Abstract:The various alpha-aminophosphonates have been prepared from tertiary aromatic and aliphatic amines with P(O)H compounds via a tertbutyl hydroperoxide mediated cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction, eliminating the need for transition-metal catalysts. The oxidation of tertiary amine by tert-butyl hydroperoxide generates an iminium cation intermediate. A further addition of P(O)H compound to iminium cation gives the desired product.

Abstract:Comprehensive Summary A transition‐metal‐free one‐pot direct synthesis of tetrathiophosphates (R 1 S) 2 P(S)SR 2 from white phosphorus (P 4 ), through intermediate sodium alkyltetrathiophosphates (R 1 S) 2 P(S)SNa, is presented. In the presence of NaSH, various disulfides such as diaryl disulfidbges and dialkyl disulfides are easily coupled with P 4 to give sodium alkyltetrathiophosphates (R 1 S) 2 P(S)SNa in almost quantitative yield, which react with alkyl halides in one pot to generate (R 1 S) 2 P(S)SR 2 . Furthermore, S ‐(2‐cyanoethyl)‐substituted tetrathiophosphates (R 1 S) 2 P(S)SCH 2 CH 2 CN are successfully designed as a kind of tetrathiophosphorylation reagent to react with diaryl iodonium salts involving deprotection‐dealkylation process.

Abstract:A general and convenient double addition of phosphine oxides to isothiocyanates is described. It is a practically useful protocol for the construction of bisphosphinoylaminomethanes. The reaction can be carried out smoothly under metal- and solvent-free conditions. It also features a broad substrate scope, simple operation and purification. A possible mechanism involving a tandem double nucleophilic addition/H2S elimination/in situ imine reduction process is proposed.

Abstract:Chiral organophosphorus compounds possessing a P-stereogenic center have been widely used as agricultural chemicals, pharmaceuticals, organocatalysts, and ligands for transition-metal catalysis. P-Stereogenic intermediates bearing a tert -butyl(methyl)phosphino group are important for the preparation of several commonly used diphosphine ligands. However, previously reported synthetic methods used hazardous starting materials and are difficult to operate. In order to overcome these limitations, a new and convenient synthesis for a number of P-stereogenic intermediates possessing a tert -butyl(methyl)phosphino group has been developed. The reported route relies on an air- and moisture-stable secondary phosphine oxide prepared from a readily available starting material, trichlorophosphane.
