Abstract:A one-pot synthesis of substituted pyridines via a cascade reaction of 2-azido-24-dienoates with alpha-diazocarbonyl compounds and triphenylphosphine is reported. The process involves a Staudinger-Meyer reaction, a Wolff rearrangement, ail aza-Wittig reaction, and an electrocyclic ring- closure. The procedure is general and efficient. The substrates are readily available.

Abstract:The synthesis of polyfunctionalized pyrroles via the cascade reactions of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and two molecules of ethyl secondary amines has been realized via simple iodine catalysis in the presence of Dess-Martin periodinane (DMP). The formation of the target pyrrole products involves the formation of one new C-C and two new C-N bonds via the major functionalization of six C(sp3)-H bonds, presenting a highly novel and efficient synthetic protocol toward pyrrole scaffolds.

Abstract:A novel palladium-catalyzed cascade allylic amination/intramolecular hydroamination/isomerization process of protected enynol 1 and primary amine 2 has been explored, which constructs the important 1,2,5-trisubstituted pyrroles. Abstract:A palladium-catalyzed C-H functionalization/intramolecular asymmetric allylation cascade of N-sulfonyl benzamides with 1,3-dienes has been developed. In the presence of a chiral pyridine-oxazoline ligand, this protocol enables the synthesis of chiral 3,4-dihydroisoquinolones in yields of up to 83% with enantioselectivities of up to 96%, using environmentally friendly air as the terminal oxidant.

Abstract:A highly efficient cascade sequence for syntheses of 2,3-disubstituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines with exclusive regioselectivity in moderate to excellent yields has been developed. This cascade was initiated through propargylation of 2-aminopyridines at pyridine-nitrogen with propargyl alcohol derivatives using Cu(II)-Pybox as catalyst and followed by an intramolecular cyclization and isomerization. Besides 2-aminopyridine, less reactive 2-aminopyrimidine, 2-aminopyrazine and 3-aminopyridazine were also suitable in this cascade.

Abstract:A rapidly and highly efficient protocol for the synthesis of pharmaceutically interesting functionalized 2-amino-3,5-dicyano-4H-pyran derivatives had been developed by using commercially available and very cheap zinc acetate as the catalyst malononitrile and cyanochalcone as raw materials.The influence of catalysts,solvents,reaction time and temperature,and molarity of the raw materials on yields were studied.The major advantages of this methodology were excellent yield,low temperature,and the use of an inexpensive catalyst.

Abstract:A novel one-pot protocol for the synthesis of valuable 3,4-dihydropyridin-2-ones from the condensation of aldehyde with cyanoacetamide and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in the presence of imidazole was developed. A series of aldehydes and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds were employed to examine the scope of substrates for this protocol. This reaction proceeded through the formation of one ring and four new bonds (two C?C, one C?N, one C?C) via the sequence involving Knoevenagel condensation, Michael addition and intramolecular cyclization with moderate to excellent yields. All new compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS.

Abstract:A cascade Wolff rearrangement and double N‐acylation reaction has been developed for the synthesis of fused pyrimidinediones in one‐pot under air. These reactions were performed with α‐diazoketones and 2‐aminopyridines or 3‐aminopyrazoles under catalyst‐ and additive‐free conditions. The protocol avoided traditional purification procedures, such as organic solvent extraction and column chromatography. The synthesis of biologically active molecules and gram‐scale experiment demonstrated the potential applications of this reaction.
