Abstract:Six new oxygenated daphnane-type diterpenoids, trigoxyphins A-F (1-6), a phenanthrene-type diterpenoid, trigoxyphin G (7), and two known compounds were isolated from twigs of Trigonostemon xyphophylloides. Their structures were established using spectroscopic methods. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited strong cytotoxic activity against HL60 (IC(50): 0.27 and 0.49 microM) and A549 (IC(50): 7.5 and 4.9 microM) tumor cell lines, respectively.

Abstract:Two new daphnane diterpenoids, trigoxyphins J and K (1 and 2), and one new friedelane triterpene derivative, 3-O-benzoylpluricostatic acid (3), together with thirteen known terpenoids (4–16) were isolated from Trigonostemon xyphophylloides (Croiz.) L.K. Dai and T.L. Wu. Their structures were identified on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic data. All compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against K562, SGC-7901, and BEL-7402 tumor cell lines, respectively.

Abstract:Three highly oxygenated new diterpenes, trigochinins A-C (1-3) were isolated from Trigonostemon chinensis. Their structures with the absolute configuration were determined by a spectroscopic method, X-ray crystallography, and CD analysis. This study suggested the revision of the C-6 stereochemistry of trigonothyrins A-C reported quite recently. Compound 3 showed significant inhibition against MET tyrosine kinase activity with a IC(50) value of 1.95 microM.

Abstract:Nine new daphnane-type diterpenoids (1-9), named trigohownins A-I, and four known analogues were isolated from Trigonostemon howii. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive NMR and MS analyses. Trigohownins A (1) and D (4) exhibited moderate cytotoxic activity against the HL-60 tumor cell line, with IC50 values of 17.0 and 9.3 μM, respectively.

Abstract:Three new phenanthrenes, thrigonosomone A (1), 6,9-O-dedimethyltrigonostemone (2), and thrigonosomone B (3) were isolated from Trigonostemon lii. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Thrigonosomone A (1) possessed a novel seven-membered cyclic anhydride moiety, and its relative configuration was determined by chemical computation and ROESY experiment. The cytotoxicity of compounds 1–3 was also evaluated.

Abstract:AIM:To investigate the chemical constituents in the stems of Trigonostemon heterophyllus.METHOD:The chemical constituents were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel, Rp-18, and Sephadex LH-20, and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.RESULTS:Three compounds were isolated and identified as a new diterpene, trigonoheterene B (1), together with two known compounds, trigonostemone (2) and trigonochinene B (3).CONCLUSION:Compound 1 is new. Compounds 2 and 3 showed antibacterial activities.

Abstract:Five new diterpenes, trigonochinenes A-E (1-5), and two known ones, 3,4-seco-sonderianol (6) and 3,4-seco-sonderianic acid (7). were isolated from the aerial part of Trigonostemon chinensis. Compounds 1-4 possess a rare 3.4-seco-cleistanthanic skeleton, and compound 5 is a highly aromatized tetranorditerpene. Structures of these compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. The antimicrobial activities of compounds 1-7 were evaluated against a panel of bacteria and fungi.

Abstract:A phytochemical investigation of the alkaloid constituents from Trigonostemon filipes Y. T. Chang et S. L. Mo led to the isolation of two new indole alkaloids, trigonostemine G (1) and trigonostemone J (2), together with two known ones, trigonostemine A (3) and trigonostemine B (4). Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic methods. Compounds 1–4 exhibited moderate AChE inhibitory activity with inhibition ratio of 31.6, 31.7, 41.7, and 42.4%, respectively. In addition, compounds 1–2 showed weak cytotoxicity against K562 and BEL-7402 human cancer cell lines.

Abstract:A new stemodane diterpenoid, trigoheterone A (1), together with seven known diterpenoids, was isolated from the sterns and leaves of Trigonostemon heterophyllus. Their structures were established on the basis of extensive spectral analyses. All known compounds were isolated from the genus Trigonostemon for the first time. The cytotoxicities of all isolated compounds were evaluated against five cancer cell lines (HL-60, A549, SMMC-7721, MCF-7 and SW480). As a result, eight compounds exhibited significant inhibitory effects with IC50 values comparable to those of cisplatin.

Abstract:Objective To study the daphnane diterpenoids of Trigonostemon lutescens form Guangxi province.Methods The ethanol extract of T.lutescens was separated and purified by column chromatography,and the structures of the compounds were identified by physicochemical properties and spectral data.Results Twelve daphnane diterpenoids were separated and identified form T.lutescens as trigoxyphin A (1),3,16α-dihydroxy-kaurane (2),entkaurane-3,16α-diol (3),10,16α-dihydroxy-isokaurane (4),entkaurane-3,5,16α-triol (5),8α-hydroxy-3,4-secopimara-4,15(18)-diene-3-oic acid (6),8α-hydroxy-3,4-secopimara-4,15(18)-diene-3-oate (7),3,4-secopimara-4,8(9),15(18)-triene-3-acid-methyl ester (8),trigoflavidone A (9),clerodane-2,4,11-triene-17-acid methyl ester (10),3α-dihydroxy-kaurane-16-ene (11),and 13α-dihydroxy-kaurane-16-ene-18-acid methyl ester (12).Conclusion All these daphnane diterpenoids are first separated and identified form T.lutescens.
