Abstract:<p>By using two highly reactive tellurium precursors Te-DMF and Te-DMAC (DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide, DMAC = N,N-dimethylacetamide) as tellurium sources, three organic hybrid indium-tellurides featuring one-dimensional chains were solvothermally synthesized, namely [Hpip]2[In(en)3][In5Te10] (1), [HDBU][InTe(Te2)] (2), [Hmd][InTe2] (3) (en = ethylenediamine, pip = piperazine, DBU = 1,8-diazabicyclo-[5.4.0]undec-7-ene, md = 2-methyl-1,3-diazinane). In particular, compound 1 shows an unique right-handed double helical [In5Te10]<em>n</em>5<em>n-</em> chain. It is worth noting that the two highly reactive tellurium precursors Te-DMF and Te-DMAC are crucial to the synthesis of 1-3, since no crystals can be isolated when replacing Te-DMF and Te-DMAC with tellurium powder. We believe that these soluble tellurium precursors could act as ideal tellurium sources for the preparation of new organic hybrid metal tellurides.</p>
