Abstract:A highly facile and efficient approach to synthesize fused azoacridone derivatives containing various functional groups has been developed. This reaction starts with a substitution reaction between the corresponding benzoic acids and pyrimidines, followed by POCl3-mediated cyclization reaction. The desired pure fused azoacridones were afforded in high yields.

Abstract:A facile preparation of 3-aminofuran derivatives via multicomponent reactions of thiazole carbenes, aldehydes, and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) is reported. In this process, the thiazole carbenes, generated in situ from thiazolium salts, reacted with aldehydes and DMAD at -78 to 0 degrees C in CH2Cl2 to afford the substituted furans in moderate to good yields. Eight substituted thiazolium salts were employed as carbene precursors in the reaction. Besides aryl aldehydes, alpha beta-unsaturated aldehydes, aliphatic aldehydes, and arenedial were also investigated and found to be applicable to this reaction.

Abstract:A convenient and effective protocol has been proposed for the synthesis of chromeno[2,3-b]pyridine derivatives via the CF3SO3H-catalyzed annulation of substituted 2-amino-3-formylchromones and various 1-(methylthio)-2-nitroenamine derivatives.
