Abstract:A novel three-component stereoselective synthesis of (E)-4-alkene 1,3-diketones from lithium selenolates, 1-(1-alkynyl)cyclopropyl ketones, and aldehydes is reported. This reaction afforded the products in moderate to good yields with the formation of a new C-Se single bond, a new C-C double bond, and a new C-O double bond.

Abstract:A homo-Michael addition reaction of lithium selenolates with 1-(1-alkynyl)cyclopropyl ketones and the subsequent reaction with electrophiles such as PhSeBr, NFSI and NCS is reported. Based on the nature of electrophiles, this reaction may afford highly substituted 1,2-allenyl ketones or furans (E(+) = PhSe(+)) and 2-alkynyl ketones (E(+) = F(+), Cl(+), active halides) as the final products, respectively.

Abstract:AbstractThe organolithium compounds, 1,4‐dilithio‐1,3‐diene and 1‐lithio‐1,3‐diene derivatives, show unprecedented reaction patterns with organic substrates. The 1,4‐dilithio‐1,3‐dienes react with aldehydes or ketones via deoxygenation of the C=O moieties to afford cyclopentadiene derivatives; pyridine derivatives are obtained in excellent yields when these organolithium reagents are treated with nitriles. In addition to novel reaction patterns, the experimental results have demonstrated that both the mono‐ and the dilithio reagents are synthetically useful building blocks. Abstract:An interesting sequential three-component reaction provides a facile synthesis of selenium/sulfur-substituted 3-oxabicyclo[4.2.0]octa-1(8),5-diene and tetrahydro-1H-isochromene from lithium alkylselenolates or alkylthiolates, 1-alkynylphosphine oxides, and aldehydes. The sequential reaction proceeds via a conjugate addition/condensation/elimination process to form the allene intermediate, which subsequently underwent [2 + 2] or [4 + 2] cyclization reaction to afford bicyclic frameworks.
