Abstract:An aphid-derived isolate of the entomophthoralean fungus,Zoophthora anhuiensis(Li) Humber,F97029,was bioassayed against the green peach aphid,Myzus persicae at 20℃ and 12:12 (L:D). Exposing 3-day-old nymphs (52~86 nymphs perdose) under spore shower of 7 dosages ranged from 0.4 to 10.4 spores / mm2, the resulting data fit well with time-dose-mortality model.Based on the estimates of hme-and dose-effect parameters for the model, the values of LD50 were estimated as 34.8, 8.7, 1 .5,0.7 and 0.4 spores/mm2 3~ 7 d after exposure, respectively, the LT50 was in a range of 2.9~ 6.0 d at the dosages used.It was observed that infection occurred rapidly by examining inoculated aphids treated with 0.1% chlorothalonil solution at varying intervals after inoculahon. At 15~ 20℃ and 12:12 (L:D), infection rate was 42%~ 58% and 44%~74% within 2 and 4h, and exceeded 90% 6h afterinoculation at dosages of 0.7~1.8 spores/mm2; 57%~67%, 77%~86%, and 78%~90% within 1, 2, and 4h at 6.9~ 9.0 spores/mm2, respectively.High dosages (49.9~54.8 spores/mm2) even resulted in infection rate of 90% within 1h after inoculation. The virulence of the isolate tested in this study was 28~117 times of thosepreviously reported for Zoophthora isolates against aphids.
