Abstract:We show that weak Kahler-Einstein metrics on Q-Fano varieties are smooth orbifold metrics away from analytic subsets of complex codimension at least three. Our proof uses orbifold resolution of singularities.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that a sequence of weak almost Kahler-Ricci solitons under further suitable conditions converges to a Kahler-Ricci soliton with complex codimension of singularities at least 2 in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology. As a corollary, we show that on a Fano manifold with the modified K-energy bounded below, there exists a sequence of weak almost Kahler-Ricci solitons which converges to a Kahler-Ricci soliton with complex codimension of singularities at least 2 in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology.

Abstract:The conformai properties of complex Finsler metrics are studied. We first give a characterization of a compact complex Finsler manifold to be globally conformai Kahler. By considering the total holomorphic curvature and total Ricci curvature in the volume preserved conformal classes, we then study the variational properties of Kahler Finsler metrics. By studying the spectral properties of two average metrics, the stabilities of critical Kähler Finsler metrics are verified. Finally, a Yamabe type problem for mean holomorphic Ricci curvature is considered, and a partial existence result is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove an existence result for Kähler-Einstein metrics on $ \mathbb Q $-Fano compactifications of Lie groups by the variational method, provided their moment polytopes satisfy a fine condition. As an application, we prove that there is no $ \mathbb Q $-Fano $ {\rm SO}_4(\mathbb C) $-compactification which admits a Kähler-Einstein metric with the same volume as that of a smooth K-unstable Fano $ {\rm SO}_4(\mathbb C) $-compactification.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the interpolation-degneration strategy to study Kahler-Einstein metrics on a smooth Fano manifold with cone singularities along a smooth divisor that is proportional to the anti-canonical divisor. By interpolation we show the angles in (0,2�) that admit a conical Kahler-Einstein metric form an interval; and by degeneration we figure out the boundary of the interval. As a first application, we show that there exists a Kahler-Einstein metric on P 2 with cone singularity along a smooth conic (degree 2) curve if and only if the angle is in (�/2,2�). When the an- gle is 2�/3 this proves the existence of a Sasaki-Einstein metric on the link of a three dimensional A2 singularity, and thus answers a problem posed by Gauntlett-Martelli- Sparks-Yau. As a second application we prove a version of Donaldson's conjecture about conical Kahler-Einstein metrics in the toric case using Song-Wang's recent existence result of toric invariant conical Kahler-Einstein metrics.

Abstract:We prove that if $X$ is a compact complex analytic variety, which has quotient singularities in codimension 2, then there is a projective bimeromorphic morphism $f\colon Y\to X$, such that $Y$ has quotient singularities, and that the indeterminacy locus of $f^{-1}$ has codimension at least 3 in $X$. As an application, we deduce the Bogomolov-Gieseker inequality on orbifold Chern classes for stable reflexive coherent sheaves on compact Kähler varieties which have quotient singularities in codimension 2.

Abstract: This is the second of a series of three papers which provide proofs of results announced in arXiv:1210.7494. In this paper we consider the Gromov-Hausdorff limits of metrics with cone singularities in the case when the limiting cone angle is less than 2\pi. We show that these are in a natrual way projective algebraic varieties. In the case when the limiting variety and the limiting divisor are smooth we show that the limiting metric also has standard cone singularities.

Abstract:In the category of metrics with conical singularities along a smooth divisor with angle in (0, 2 pi), we show that locally defined weak solutions (C-1,C-1 solutions) to the Kahler-Einstein equations actually possess maximum regularity, which means the metrics arc actually Wilder continuous in the singular polar coordinates. This shows the weak Kahler-Einstein metrics constructed by Guenancia-Paun, and independently by Yao, are all actually strong-conical Kahler-Einstein metrics. The key step is to establish a Liouville-type theorem for weak-conical Kahler-Ricci flat metrics defined over C-n, which depends on a Calderon-Zygmund theory in the conical setting. The regularity of globally defined weak-conical Kahler-Einstein metrics is already proved by Guenancia-Paun using a different method.

Abstract:We exhibit families of Ricci-flat Kahler metrics on K3 surfaces which collapse to an interval, with Tian-Yau and Taub-NUT metrics occurring as bubbles. There is a corresponding continuous surjective map from the K3 surface to the interval, with regular fibers diffeomorphic to either 3-tori or Heisenberg nilmanifolds.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a complex projective variety with only canonical singularities and with trivial canonical bundle. Let $L$ be an ample line bundle on $X$. Assume that the pair $(X,L)$ is the flat limit of a family of smooth polarized Calabi-Yau manifolds. Assume that for each singular point $x \in X$ there exist a Kahler-Einstein Fano manifold $Z$ and a positive integer $q$ dividing $K_Z$ such that $-\frac{1}{q}K_Z$ is very ample and such that the germ $(X,x)$ is locally analytically isomorphic to a neighborhood of the vertex of the blow-down of the zero section of $\frac{1}{q}K_{Z}$. We prove that up to biholomorphism, the unique weak Ricci-flat Kahler metric representing $2\pi c_1(L)$ on $X$ is asymptotic at a polynomial rate near $x$ to the natural Ricci-flat Kahler cone metric on $\frac{1}{q}K_Z$ constructed using the Calabi ansatz. In particular, our result applies if $(X, \mathcal{O}(1))$ is a nodal quintic threefold in $\mathbb{P}^4$. This provides the first known examples of compact Ricci-flat manifolds with non-orbifold isolated conical singularities.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the behavior of Ricci flows on compact orbifolds with finite singularities. We show that Perelman's pseudolocality theorem also holds on orbifold Ricci flow. Using this property, we obtain a weak compactness theorem of Ricci flows on orbifolds under some natural technical conditions. This generalizes the corresponding theorem on manifolds. As an application, we can use K\"ahler Ricci flow to find new K\"ahler Einstein metrics on some orbifold Fano surfaces. For example, if $Y$ is a cubic surface with only one ordinary double point or $Y$ is an orbifold Fano surface with degree 1 and every singularity on it is a rational double point of type $\A_k (1 \leq k \leq 6)$, then we can find a KE metric of $Y$ by running K\"ahler Ricci flow.

Abstract:We show the optimal C1,1 regularity of geodesics in nef and big cohomology class on Kähler manifolds away from the non‐Kähler locus, assuming sufficiently regular initial data. As a special case, we prove the C1,1 regularity of geodesics of Kähler metrics on compact Kähler varieties away from the singular locus. Our main novelty is an improved boundary estimate for the complex Monge–Ampère equation that does not require strict positivity of the reference form near the boundary. We also discuss the case of some special geodesic rays.

Abstract:A construction of Kaehler-Einstein metrics using Galois coverings, studied by Arezzo-Ghigi-Pirola, is generalized to orbifolds. By applying it to certain orbifold covers of P^n which are trivial set theoretically, one obtains new Einstein metrics on odd-dimensional spheres. The method also gives Kaehler-Einstein metrics on degree 2 Del Pezzo surfaces with A_1 or A_2-singularities.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to establish a completely new partial regularity theory on certain homogeneous complex Monge-Ampere equations. Our partial regularity theory will be obtained by studying foliations by holomorphic curves and and their relations to homogeneous complex Monge-Ampere equations.
