We first establish the local well-posedness for the weakly dissipative $\mu$HS equation by Kato's semigroup theory. Then, we derive the precise blow-up scenario for strong solutions to the equation. We first derive global existence for strong solutions to the system with smooth approximate initial data. Then, we show that the limit of approximate solutions is a global weak solution of the two-component $\mu$-Hunter-Saxton system.

Abstract:The global weak solutions for the Degasperis–Procesi equation with weakly dissipative term are investigated. Provided that u0∈H1(R), y0=(1−∂x2)u0∈M(R), suppy0−⊂(−∞,x0) and suppy0+⊂(x0,∞), the existence and uniqueness of global weak solutions for the equation are shown to be true in the space Wloc1,∞(R+×R)∩Lloc∞(R+;H1(R)).

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional MHD system with magnetic diffusion. It was proved that the MHD equations have a unique global strong solution around the equilibrium state $(0, e_1)$. Furthermore, the $L^2$ decay rate of the velocity and magnetic field is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that the existence and uniqueness of globally weak solutions to the Cauchy problem for the weakly dissipative Camassa-Holm equation in time weighted H-1 space. First, we derive an equivalent semi-linear system by introducing some new variables, and present the globally conservative solutions of this equation in time weighted H-1 space. Second, given a globally conservative solution, we introduce a set of auxiliary variables tailored to this particular solution, and prove that these variables satisfy a particular semilinear system has a unique solution. In turn, we get the uniqueness of the conservative solutions in the original variables. Finally, we show that the peakon solutions are conservative weak solutions in H-1.

Abstract:We establish the existence of weak global solutions of the half-wave maps equation with the target $S^2$ on $\mathbb{R}^{1+1}$ with large initial data in $\dot{H}^1 \cap \dot{H}^{\frac{1}{2}}(\mathbb{R})$. We first prove the global well-posedness of a regularized equation. Then we show that the weak limit of the regularized solutions is a weak solution of the half-wave maps equation as the regularization parameter $\varepsilon \rightarrow 0$.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the quantum MHD equations with both the viscosity coefficient and the magnetic diffusion coefficient are depend on the density. we prove the global existence of weak solutions and perform the lower planck limit in a 3-dimensional torus for large initial data. The global existence is shown by using Faedo-Galerkin method and weak compactness techniques for the adiabatic exponent $\gamma>1$.

Abstract:For the Cauchy problem with a kind of non-smooth initial data for weakly linearly degenerate hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with the linear damping term, we prove the existence and uniqueness of global weakly discontinuous solution u = u(t, x) containing only n weak discontinuities with small amplitude on t ≥ 0, and this solution possesses a global structure similar to that of the similarity solution $u = U(\frac{x}{t})$ of the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem. As an application of our result, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of global weakly discontinuous solution, continuous and piecewise C 1 solution with discontinuous first order derivatives, of the flow equations of a model class of fluids with viscosity induced by fading memory.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the Cauchy problem of the incompressible Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations in the periodic space domain TN, where N≥2. After a suitable randomization to the initial data, we obtain the almost sure existence of global weak solutions with the initial data in Hs(TN), s∈(−1,0). Specially, the global weak solution is unique when N=2.

Abstract:In this paper we prove an existence theorem of global smooth solutions for the Cauchy problem of a class of quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear dissipative terms under the assumption that only the C-0-norm of the initial data is sufficiently small, while the C-1-norm of the initial data can be large. Abstract:In this paper, we study the global existence of weak solutions to the Cauchy problem of the three-dimensional equations for compressible isentropic magnetohydrodynamic flows subject to discontinuous initial data. It is assumed here that the initial energy is suitably small in L2, and that the initial density and the gradients of initial velocity/magnetic field are bounded in L∞ and L2, respectively. This particularly implies that the initial data may contain vacuum states and the oscillations of solutions could be arbitrarily large. As a byproduct, we also prove the global existence of smooth solutions with strictly positive density and small initial energy.
