Many sparse-based and low-rank methods have demonstrated their effectiveness in this application. However, exploiting sparsity or low-rankness alone may limit the performance due to the loss of the priors. In this abstract, in the context of machine learning, we present a novel simultaneous sparse and low-rank framework for random noise suppression in prestack seismic data. In order to capture as many effective priors of the useful signals as possible, a sparse transform scheme with joint low-rank regularization is applied in this patch-based framework. The sparse transform scheme is used to explore local sparsity whereas the low-rank regularization is to explore non-local self-similarities. We apply our method to the field prestack Common-Reflection-Point (CRP) gathers, and the denoised results show that the proposed method can preserve more useful structures, have more accurate amplitude and remain less random noise, which indicates that our method is more effective in comparison with the K-SVD method and the group low-rank approximation method.
