Abstract:In order to explore the value of detection of serum CA19-9,CA72-4 and MG7-Ag in patients with gastric cancer after operation,170 patients with stage Ⅲ gastric cancer underwent radical gastrectomy were followed up.Serum levels of CA19-9,CA72-4 and MG7-Ag in patients were examined preoperatively and every 2 months postoperatively. The diagnostic imaging such as X-ray,computed tomography(CT) and ultrasonography were carried out in all patients regularly. The patients suspected with the regional recurrence also had gastroscopy examination. The results showed that recurrence of gastric cancer was observed in 101 patients(blood source recurrence 83,regional recurrence 18).The positive rate of CA19-9,CA72-4 and MG7-Ag in patients with recurrence was 62.4%,67.3%,59.4%respectively.The positive rate of combined detection of CA19-9,CA72-4 and MG7-Ag was 95.0%.All of these values were significantly higher than those of preoperative results(48.5%,51.5%,57.0% and 76.4% respectively),except for MG7-Ag.These tumor markers were detected positively between 14 months before recurrence detected by diagnostic imaging and 4 months after detected by diagnostic imaging(mean of 4.2±2.5 months before detection by diagnostic imaging). The detection of serum CA19-9,CA72-4 and MG7-Ag might be regarded as clinical significance for predicting and monitoring the recurrence of gastric cancer after operation, and CA19-9 can be used as an independent predict prognostic factor.
