A clinic strain of Acinetobacter baumannii which produces OXA-23 carbarpenase and PER-1 type ESBLs

Abstract:Objective To analyze the cause of Acinetobacter baumannii resisting to β-Lactam and the ability of the resistant gene transferring to other bacteria. Methods Isoelectric focusing electrophoresis and three-dimensional test were used to analyze and classify the β-Lactamases. Proper primers were used to do PCR and the variable region of integron was amplified and TA-clone to vector pUC-mT, TA-cloning and PCR products were sequenced subsequently. Results Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolate No.148 harbor a bla OXA-23 gene and a class A β-lactamases gene bla VEB-1 and accA4 cassette. Conclusion An Acinetobacter baumannii which produces OXA-23 carbarpenase and PER-1 type ESBLs was detected.
