Abstract:The fact of being in the U. S. yet writing in Chinese results in a dual nature of the for Chinese literature in the U. S. On the one hand, Chinese literature in the U. S. is an alien to the English literature in the U. S. , and on the other hand, it is an alien to the Chinese literature in China. Such a duality results in a position and point of view of an alien for Chinese literature in the U. S. Moreover, following the shift from the pursuit of essentialism to rebuilding a new identity, identity anxiety in the Chinese literature in the U. S. gradually dissolved.
