Abstract:This research uses case study method to trace the development trajectory of a Chinese private enterprise,which diversifies its activities in multiple industries over the last 20 years.It aims to understand how organizations benefit from a type of supra-planning-‘buju',identified asa logical sequence of actionsin regards to building an ego-centered social network which is different from strategic planning.The mechanism of‘buju'is such that the way of balancing closure networks and loose networks and reproducing guanxi works in the process of the co-construction of social networks and business opportunities,so as to achieve adaptations to the complex environments.
