Abstract:We present the laser performance of Nd:CTGS piezoelectric crystal at 1066 nm in continuous wave and passively Q-switched regimes. Maximum single pulse energy was 47.62 μJ at 21.63 kHz with pulse duration of 26.69 ns.

Abstract:Diode-pumped continuous-wavelength and passively Q-switched laser with a novel Nd:CTGS crystal were reported. In continuous-wave operation, maximum output power of 3.5 W was obtained with slope efficiency of 38.6%. With Cr4+:YAG as the saturable absorber, passively Q-switched 1065 nm laser with high power and high energy were demonstrated. Maximum output power was 1.6 W with slope efficiency of 21.2%. Minimum pulse width of 8.4 ns was obtained with pulse repetition rate of 33.1 kHz, corresponding to maximum pulse energy of 45.7 mu J and peak power of 5.4 kW.

Abstract:We systematically investigated a laser diode (LD) pumped Nd:GYSO (Nd3+:Gd0.6Y1.4SiO5) laser. The output power of the continuous wave laser was as high as 3.5 W with a slope efficiency of 31.8%. In the Q-switched operation; the laser exhibited dual-wavelengths output (1073.6 nm and 1074.7 nm) synchronously with a Cr4+:YAG as the saturable absorber (SA). Additionally, a passively mode-locked laser was demonstrated using a semiconductor SA mirror with a maximum average output power of 510 mW at a central wavelength of 1074 nm, while the pulse width of the laser was as short as 5 ps. Our experiment proved that the Nd:GYSO mixed crystal was a promising material for a solid-state laser.

Abstract:We report on the continuous wave (CW) and passive Q-switching performance of a high-power diode-pumped Nd:GGG laser. A CW output power of 7.20 W was obtained under an absorbed pump power of 14.97 W, which gives a slop efficiency of 52.7%. With a Cr4+ doped yttrium aluminum garnet crystal as the saturable absorber, the shortest passively Q-switched pulse width, largest pulse energy, and highest peak power achieved were 7.7 ns, 126.25 μJ, and 15.5 kW, respectively.

Abstract:A diode-pumped acousto-optically (AO) Q-switched 1066 nm laser with a novel Nd:CdTaO4 crystal was demonstrated for the first time to the best of our knowledge. The optimization selection of output coupler was carried out in the continuous-wave (CW) operation. After that the pulsed Nd:CdTaO4 laser performances using different modulation repetition rates of 10 kHz and 20 kHz were investigated. Abstract:A diode-pumped Cr4+:YAG passively Q-switched 1066 nm Nd:GdTaO4 laser was demonstrated for the first time to the best of our knowledge. The crystal characteristics of Nd:GdTaO4 was presented. A maximum output power of 3.03 W was obtained at an absorbed pump power of 12.6 W in the continuous-wave (CW) operation, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 28%. The pulsed Nd:GdTaO4 laser performance was investigated theoretically and experimentally. After optimization selection of Cr4+:YAG saturable absorbers, at an absorbed pump power of 12.6 W, the obtained minimum pulse width was similar to 22 ns with the pulse repetition frequency of 65 kHz, and the single pulse energy and peak power were estimated to be 18.1 mu J and 0.79 kW, respectively. Abstract:A diode-pumped passively Q-switched 1065 nm laser with a novel Nd:Gd0.89La0.1NbO4 mixed crystal was demonstrated for the first time to the best of our knowledge. First, the crystal characteristics were investigated. In the continuous-wave (CW) operation, when the absorbed pump power was 12.24 W, the maximum CW output power of 3.06 W was obtained with the optimum transmission (20%) of the output plane coupler. In the passively Q-switched situation, when Cr4+:YAG crystal with an initial transmission of 90% served as the Q-switched saturable absorber, the maximum repetition rate, pulse peak power and minimum pulse width were 24.5 kHz, 1.13 kW and 32 ns, respectively, at the absorbed pump power of 12.24 W. Abstract:The performance of continuous wave (CW) and passively Q-switched Nd:GYSGG lasers was investigated for the first time. The CW output powers of 4.2W with dual wavelength of 1058.4nm and 1061.5nm were obtained under the diode pump power of 17W with slope efficiencies of 26%. By using Cr4+:YAG wafer as saturable absorber, Q-switching operation was performed and the short pulse with pulse width of 6.6ns was obtained with the peak power of 9.97kW.

Abstract:A novel pulsed 1065 rim Nd:GdLaNbO4 laser using 2D material molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as saturable absorber was demonstrated for the first time to our best knowledge. The characteristic of 2D MoS2 nanosheet was examined firstly. Then, the continuous wave output power was tested and corresponding intensity distribution and beam quality factors were measured and calculated, respectively. Through adding of MoS2 nanosheet, the obtained shortest pulse duration, highest repetition rate and peak power were 0.59 mu s, 112 kHz and 1.90 W, respectively.

Abstract:The continuous wave and pulsed laser performances of a laser-diode-end-pumped c-cut Nd:Lu0.1Y0.9VO4 crystal have been demonstrated for the first time. The small emission cross section and appropriate upper level lifetime result in the c-cut Nd:Lu0.1Y0.9VO4 crystals having excellent pulsed laser performance. When the pulse repetition rate was 6.4 kHz, the shortest pulse width, the largest pulse energy and the highest peak power were found to be 1.9 ns, 104.7 μJ and 55.1 kW, respectively, using a Cr4+:YAG crystal as the saturable absorber. These results were much better than those for an a-cut Nd:Lu0.1Y0.9VO4 crystal under the same conditions.

Abstract:Passively Q-switched green output with Cr 4+ :YAG as saturable absorber and PPMgLN as the frequency doubling crystal was realized in a compact diode end-pumped Nd:YVO 4 laser. The green light output power, pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power with three Cr 4+ :YAG of different initial transmissions were investigated. The maximum average output power was 1.2 W at the pump power of 4.0 W and the maximum conversion efficiency was 30% with the Cr 4+ :YAG of 90% initial transmission. The maximum pulse energy and minimum pulse width were 10.9 μJ and 12 ns with the Cr 4+ :YAG of 75% initial transmission.

Abstract:A diode-pumped passively Q-switched 1066 nm laser with Nd:GGG crystal was demonstrated. The maximum output power was 4.5 W under the absorbed pump power of 12.56 W, with a slope efficiency of 40% in the continuous-wave (CW) operation. The characteristics of the passively Q-switched Nd:GGG laser with the Cr4+:YAG saturable absorbers were researched. When the Cr4+:YAG crystal with the initial transmission (T-0) of 85% at 1.06 pm was placed in the cavity, the maximum repetition rate and the minimum pulse width were 6.7 kHz and 28.7 ns, respectively.

Abstract:The lasing characteristics of Nd,Mg:LiTaO3 crystal is demonstrated in this paper. The continuous wave laser spectra can be tuned from 1079.8 nm to 1083.1 nm and 1089.6 nm to 1093.2 nm. Abstract:A diode-pumped acousto-optically (AO) Q-switched 1066 laser with a novel Nd:Gd0.69Y0.3NbO4 crystal under 879 nm pumping was demonstrated for the first time. In CW operation, the maximum output power of 7.5 W was obtained with a slope efficiency of 37.6%. The different modulation repetition rates from 5 kHz to 30 kHz in the pulsed Nd:GdYNbO4 laser were investigated. At an absorbed pump power of 7.44 W and a repetition rate of 10 kHz, the pulse width and peak power were 17.8 ns and 6.75 kW, respectively. We also got the highest repetition rate 61.214 kHz of this new mixed crystal.

Abstract:We demonstrate for the first time a Cr 4+ :YAG passively Q -switched 1066 nm pulse-burst laser under 879 nm direct pump with a novel Nd:Gd 0 . 69 Y 0 . 3 NbO 4 crystal. The output laser characteristics with different pump repetition rates and different Cr 4+ :YAG initial transmission are studied. Without the Cr 4+ :YAG, we obtain a maximum output energy of 2.55 mJ at an absorbed pump energy of 5.79 mJ with the highest 48% slope efficiency. The pulse-burst laser contains a maximum of 7 pulses for a Cr 4+ :YAG initial transmission of 55% and a pump repetition rate of 1 kHz. The single-pulse energy and narrowest pulse width reach 160 μ J and 5.5 ns at 38.2 kHz, with a peak power of 32 kW.

Abstract:We report on a diode end-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG ceramic laser. By using a Cr4+:YAG single crystal with an 80% initial transmission as the saturable absorber, stable Q-switched pulses with a 126-μJ pulse energy, a 12-ns pulse width, and an 8.4-kHz pulse repetition rate have been obtained. The Q-switching performance of the laser under different saturable absorption strengths and output couplings was experimentally investigated.

Abstract:A slab laser based on Nd:CTGS crystal was reported for the first time. With a quasi-continuous wave semiconductor laser as the pump source, the maximum average output power reached 7.01 W, with a wavelength of 1064.5 nm, a single-pulse energy of 35 mJ, and a slope efficiency of 31%. Using a Cr4+:YAG crystal as the saturable absorber, the maximum average output power was 2.52 W, corresponding to a single-pulse energy of 1.26 mJ, a pulse duration of 37.2 ns, and a peak power reaches 33.9 kW. This work provides a good way to obtain pulsed slab lasers with simple structure and excellent performance, which are expected to be utilized in many fields like the photovoltaic industry, glass processing, tool manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and scientific research.

Abstract:In this paper, a diode-pumped continuous-wave and passively Q-switched 1.06μm laser with gain medium of ceramic was demonstrated. Laser output characteristics using Nd:YAG ceramics with different doping concentrations of 1.0%, 2.0%, and 4.0% were studied. A maximum output power of 7.74W with optical efficiency of 51.6% was obtained through the optimization of the coupler's transmission. By using Cr4+:YAG crystals with initial transmissions of 80% and 90% as saturable absorbers, the pulsed ceramic Nd:YAG laser performance was investigated.
