Abstract:We obtain the full U group chiral Lagrangian to the order p(6) order, and check the existing results. We find one more linear relation in p(4) order at U group, and some more linear relations in p(6) order at SU group with tensor sources.

Abstract:We construct the full p(6) order chiral Lagrangians for the unitary group and special unitary groups, including n(f)-, three-and two-flavor cases, all bilinear currents (scalar, pseudoscalar, vector, axial-vector, and tensor currents), and theta parameter. The number of independent operators are 1391, 1326, and 969 for each of the flavor unitary groups. From these results, we find one extra linear relation among the traditional p(4) order low-energy constants under the U(3) group, and some more linear relations with tensor sources for the p(6) order low-energy constants in the special unitary groups. We develop a scheme to obtain the relations for the dependent operators in terms of independent operators.

This is a generalization of our previous work on calculating the p(4) order coefficients of the chiral Lagrangian in terms of the quark self-energy Sigma(p(2)). We show that most of our results are consistent with those we can find in the literature.

Abstract:The chiral Lagrangians for singly heavy baryons are constructed up to the O(p4) order. The involved baryons may be in a flavor antitriplet with spin 1/2 , a flavor sextet with spin 1/2 , or a flavor sextet with spin 3/2 when one considers three light flavors. For the relativistic version of Lagrangian, from O(p2) to O(p4) , there exist 48, 199, and 1242 independent terms in the SU(2) case and 59, 307, and 2454 independent terms in the SU(3) case, respectively. For the Lagrangian in the heavy-quark limit, from O(p2) to O(p4) , the numbers of independent terms are reduced to 16, 64, and 412 in the SU(2) case and to 17, 88, and 714 in the SU(3) case, respectively. We obtain the low-energy constant relations between the relativistic case and the heavy-quark case up to the O(p3) order. Abstract:In a wide class of holographic models described by the Yang-Mills and Chern-Simons terms, we derive all the ${\cal O}(p^6)$ Chiral Perturbation Theory low-energy constants. Various model-independent relations exist among the constants up to this order, generalizing the previously found relations at $p^4$ order. Some of them can be extended to relations between different amplitudes.

Abstract:We derive the order p 8 Lagrangian of odd intrinsic parity for mesonic chiral perturbation theory, and provide the resulting operator basis in the supplementary material. Neglecting the non-zero singlet trace, we find 999 operators for a general number of quark flavours N f , 705 for N f = 3 and 92 for N f = 2. Our numbers agree with those obtained through the Hilbert series approach in the literature. Including a singlet trace, as needed for the physical case of N f = 2, instead yields 1210 operators for a general N f , 892 for N f = 3 and 211 for N f = 2.

Abstract:We present the results of calculations of the $p^4$ and $p^6$ order low-energy constants for the chiral Lagrangian with tensor sources for both two and three flavors of pseudoscalar mesons. This is a generalization of our previous work on similar calculations without tensor sources in terms of the quark self-energy $\Sigma(p^2)$, based on the first principle derivation of the low-energy effective Lagrangian and computation of the low-energy constants with some rough approximations. With the help of partial integration and some epsilon relations, we find that some $p^6$ order operators with tensor sources appearing in the literature are related to each other. That leaves 98 independent terms for $n$-flavor, 92 terms for three-flavor, and 65 terms for two-flavor cases. We also find that the odd-intrinsic-parity chiral Lagrangian with tensor sources cannot independently exist in any order of low-energy expansion.

Abstract:The complete list of electroweak chiral Lagrangian for W', Z' and a neutral light higgs with symmetry SU(2)1 ⊗ SU(2)2 ⊗ U(1) is provided. The bosonic part is accurate up to order of p4, the matter part involving various fermion representation arrangements includes dimension three Yukawa type and dimension four gauge type operators. The universal mixings and masses of gauge bosons and fermions are given. Constraints from mass differences for K0−0, Bd0−d0, Bs0−s0 systems and indirect CP violation parameter |K| for K mesons are evaluated.

Abstract:Chiral perturbation theory systematically describes the low energy dynamics of meson and baryons using nonlinear Nambu-Goldstone fields. Using the Young tensor technique, we construct the pure mesonic effective operators up to $p^8$-order, one-to-one corresponding to contact amplitudes with the on-shell Adler zero condition. The off-shell external sources, non-vanishing under equation-of-motion conditions, are also added to the operator bases. We also show the invariant tensor bases using the Young tableau is equivalent to the trace bases with Cayley-Hamilton relations. Separated into different $CP$ eigenstates, at $\mathcal{O}(p^8)$ we obtain the operator lists of the 567 $C$+$P$+ operators, 483 $C$+$P$- operators, 376 $C$-$P$+ operators, and 408 $C$-$P$- operators for $SU(2)$ case, while there are 1959 $C$+$P$+ operators, 1809 $C$+$P$- operators, 1520 $C$-$P$+ operators, and 1594 $C$-$P$- operators for $SU(3)$ case, consistent with results using the Hilbert series.

Abstract:Chiral perturbation theory describes the low energy dynamics of mesons and baryons in terms of the nonlinear Goldstone boson and fermion degrees of freedom. Through the Young tensor technique, we construct the on-shell operator bases for the meson-baryon system up to $p^5$-order, using the chiral dimension power counting and heavy baryon expansion. For the Lorentz structure, additional treatments on off-shell external sources and operators with higher derivatives are necessarily considered, while for the internal structure, the invariant tensor basis is converted into the trace basis equivalently, and Cayley-Hamilton relations are utilized to classify different CP eigen-operators. Finally we present the complete operator set of $C$+$P$+, $C$+$P$-, $C$-$P$+, and $C$-$P$- eigen-operators at the $p^5$-order, and obtain the operator counting from the Hilbert series.

Abstract:In this paper, we carefully analyze the unitarity of the simplest Kazama–Suzuki model based on the noncompact group. The chiral ring structure in this N = 2 theory is clarified. In general, it is infinitely dimensional and innumerable. The primary chiral states belonging to the ring can be constructed by means of the direct products of the highest weight states of the coset SU(1,1)/U(1) and the scalar representation of U(1) for the fermions. The primary chird and anti-chiral states live individually in the positive discrete series D+ and negative discrete series D- of SU(1,1), respectively. With appropriate restrictions, this theory can be regarded as one at the fixed point of a Landau–Ginzburg theory, in which the superpotential is given by S12 in the fourteen exceptional singularities.

Abstract:Chiral perturbation theory in the two--flavour sector allows one to analyse Green functions in QCD in the limit where the strange quark mass is considered to be large in comparison to the external momenta and to the light quark masses m_u and m_d. In this framework, the low--energy constants of SU{2}_R \times SU{2}_L depend on the value of the heavy quark masses. For the coupling constants which occur at order p^2 and p^4 in the chiral expansion, we worked out the dependence on the strange quark mass at two--loop accuracy, and provided analogous relations for some of the couplings c_i which are relevant at order p^6. This talk comments on the methods used, and illustrates implications of the results obtained.

Abstract:The fermion four-point functions and condensates as the chiral symmetry order parameters are calculated analytically in U(1) gauge theory in the massless phase. It is shown that in leading order of the loop expansion of the effective action, there is a critical coupling for the nonperturbative parity-invariant chirality-changing four-fermion functions; this critical coupling however is the same as that for dynamical mass generation. Therefore there is no breaking of chiral symmetry through the condensation of four-fermion functions below the critical coupling for dynamical mass generation for the fermions.

Abstract:The SU($N$) principal chiral model is asymptotically free and integrable in $1+1$ dimensions. In the large-$N$ limit, there is no scattering, but correlation functions are {\em not} those of a free field theory. We briefly review the derivation of form factors for local operators. Two-point functions for such operators are known exactly. The two-point function of scaling-field operators has the short-distance behavior expected from the renormalization group. We briefly discuss non-vacuum operator products. The ultimate goal is to derive the Lagrangian field theory from this axiomatic quantum-field-theory formalism.

Abstract:Abstract We establish a systematic construction of the on-shell amplitude/operator basis for Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT) in D = 4 spacetime dimensions and with an arbitrary number of flavors N f . For kinematic factors, we employ spinor-helicity variables to construct the soft blocks, which are local amplitudes satisfying the Adler’s zero condition, as well as to take into account the reduction in the kinematic basis due to the Gram determinant, which arises at O(p 10) when the number of multiplicity N in an amplitude becomes large: N > D. For flavor factors, we include group-theoretic relations at small N f , N f ≤ N, which decreases the flavor basis. The result is obtained by adapting the Young tensor method of constructing the operator basis for generic effective field theories to the case of non-linearly realized symmetries. Working in the massless quark limit, we present purely mesonic operators for both even- and odd-parity at O(p 6) and O(p 8) for N = 6 and arbitrary N f , and establish a direct correspondence between the amplitude basis and the operator basis. Furthermore, the redundancy due to the Gram determinant is studied at O(p 10) for N = 6, 8 and 10.
