Curriculum Development of "questionnaire Design" in Practice Teaching of Preventive Dentistry

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of curriculum development of "questionnaire design"in practice teaching of preventive dentistry.Methods MindMapper software was used in questionnaire design training for eight-year students in Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology.The process included three steps,which were "centralized introduction","group training" and "uniform application".Basic investigation and evaluation were also carried out in the study using questionnaires.SPSS 13.0 was used in data analysis.Results Accuracy rate of the knowledge about "questionnaire design" increased from 61.2％ to 79.8％ with statistical difference (t=7.988,P＜0.001).Before training,87.3％ students never heard of MindMapper software,while after training 83.5％ students understood and could make use of the software.Most students (96.2％) considered that they need the training of "questionnaire design",and 92.4％ students were satisfied with the training.The evaluation of the content,methods and effect of the training by students and teachers were all positive,and the rate of "good" or "very good" assessment varied from 96.7％ to 100.00％.Conclusions The teaching reform of "questionnaire design" using MindMapper software was successful,and worth to be popularized.
