Epidemiological Investigation on Status of Reproductive Health of Married Women with Reproductive Age

Abstract:To investigate the status of reproductive health in married women with reproductive age a total number of 2712 married women aged 22~55 years old were investigated through questionnaire and gynecological examination. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS/PC 9.0 statistical software. The status of pregnancy partus abortion contraception and common gynecological diseases were investigated and analyzed. In farmer group there is a higher proportion of high number of pregnancy and partus and lower proportion of abortion than other occupational groups. There is a lower proportion of pregnancy and partus in the group with age =30 than other age group. For the contraception method there is a higher proportion of adopting male and female sterilization and lower proportion of IUD condom and pill in farmers group than other occupational groups. For common gynecological diseases the prevalence rate of reproductive tract infections in womens population is quite high (46.5%). The others are dysmenorrhea irregular menstruation leiomyoma - uterus and tumor of ovary respectively. The problem of reproductive health in married women is serious thus more attention should be paid to married women and relevant clinical and health workers. (authors)
