Abstract:The Code of Medical Ethics of the Chinese Medical Association and the Code of Medical Ethics of the American Medical Association are the first documents on medical ethics formulated by the two organizations.They both discussed the requirements of medical profession to physicians,doctor-patient relationship,doctor-doctor relationship and the duty of physicians to the public.Meanwhile,their differences due to the different social conditions and cultures of the two countries.Social conditions should be taken into account when formulating medical ethics and necessary institution and effective supervision should be established.
