Abstract:Myocardial infarction (MI), atherosclerosis and thrombosis are common cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the cardiovascular system. Typically, myocardial infarction represents the primary cause of morbidity and mortality in the world, which is the culmination of long-standing diseases such as hypertension and ischemia from atherosclerosis and thrombosis. These findings suggest that CVD is a multi-factorial progressive disease with complicated pathogenesis, thus it is likely that multiple methods and multiple drugs will be the best therapeutic approaches to address the varied pathological aspects of the disease. Based on the characteristics of CVD, Chinese herbal extracts are still the drugs of choice for the therapy of CVD because of their potential benefits. Therefore, this study established a series of analytical methods to screen and evaluate potential anti-cardiovascular drug candidates from traditional Chinese herbs and explained their possible mechanisms of cardiovascular effective effects.
