Abstract:α,α,γ,γ-Tetrafluoro-β-hydroxy ketones and α-fluoroacetophenones are widely used in the fields of organic chemistry,agrochemicals,and pharmaceuticals.A mild and excellent method to synthesize α,α,γ,γ-tetrafluoro-β-hydroxy ketones and α-fluoroacetophenones via various 1,3-diaryl-1,3-diketones has been developed.With the modification of reaction conditions,two different products could be obtained in moderate to good yields,respectively.

Abstract:A simple and efficient method was developed for the synthesis of 2,20-arylmethylene dicyclohexane-1,3-dione derivatives via the Knoevenagel–Michael cascade reactions of aromatic aldehydes and 1,3-cyclic diketones catalyzed by ‘‘Amano’’ lipase DF, which expands the application field of enzyme catalytic promiscuity. This protocol provides several advantages over the traditional chemical synthesis, such as simple work-up procedure, high yields（up to 94%） and environmental friendliness.

Abstract:A highly efficient synthesis of α-diazoketone was achieved by simply stirring the mixture of 1,3-diketone, TsN3, and MeNH2 in EtOH. It was a tandem reaction including a novel primary amine-catalyzed Regitz diazo transfer of 1,3-diketone and a novel primary amine-mediated C-C bond cleavage of 2-diazo-1,3-diketone.

Abstract:A novel and simple synthesis of 3-aroyl-2,5-diaryl-2,4-cyclopentadiene-1,1-dicarbonitriles is described. The reactive 1:1 zwitterionic intermediate, formed by the addition of triphenylphosphine to diaroylacetylenes, was trapped by arylidenemalononitriles to produce the title compounds under mild reaction conditions in fairly good yields.

Abstract:The Acylase "Amano" (AA)-catalyzed synthesis of valuable pyridin-2-ones via domino Knoevenagel condensation-Michael addition-intramolecular cyclization-oxidization reaction between aldehyde, cyanoacetamide and ethyl acetoacetate or cyclohexyl acetoacetate was developed in the sense of a one-pot strategy. Various aliphatic, aromatic and hetero-aromatic pyridin-2-ones could also be produced in the reaction. The mechanism was illustrated according to the controlled reaction, pyridin-2-one was formed via the oxidization by oxygen at the final step. This simple and efficient enzymatic domino reaction not only widens its application of AA to organic synthesis, but is also an attractive way for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds.

Abstract:A new strategy for the synthesis of 1,1-diaryl and triarylsubstituted alkenes has been developed utilizing B(C6F5)(3)-catalyzed hydroarylation of alkynes with phenols. The method provides a direct route to ortho-alkenylated phenols with both terminal and internal alkynes. The reactions show excellent regioselectivity, and good stereoselectivity was observed for the hydroarylation of internal alkynes. Computational and experimental studies suggest that for the reaction of internal alkynes and phenols, an acid-catalyzed isomerization mechanism involving two tertiary carbonium ion intermediates is responsible for the formation of Z-triaryl substituted alkenes.

Abstract:A new method for the synthesis of 1-aryl-2,3-diaroyl cyclopropanes has been developed by iodine/DBU-mediated cyclization of 1,3,5-triaryl-1,5-diketones. The alcohols derived by the reduction of these cyclopropanes, when treated with conc. HCl, afforded a series of 1,3-dienes through cyclopropyl ring-opening and subsequent fragmentation. Overall, the synthetic sequence represents a new non-Wittig methodology for the synthesis of 1,3-dienes from 1,5-diketones.

Abstract:An efficient method for asymmetric synthesis of acyclic α-tertiary amine derivatives has been achieved through enantioselective aminations of α-branched ynones with azodicarboxylates enabled by chiral phosphoric acid catalysis. Moreover, kinetic resolution of racemic starting material was realized under these conditions, which gave access to valuable enantioenriched α-substituted ketones. A wide array of α-aryl and alkyl-substitutions, and the substituted alkynyl groups were well compatible with this method, producing both the amination products and the recovered ketones with good to high enantioselectivities.This article is protected by copyright. Abstract:A series of 1,3-diaryl-1-oxo-propylene compounds(1a~1j)were obtained from substituted acetophenone and substituted aromatic aldehydes.Ten 1,3-diaryl-1-acetones(3a~3j)were synthe-sized by the reaction of 1a ~1j with 4-methylbenzenesulfonhydrazide(2).The structures were con-firmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR,IR and HR-MS(ESI).The effects of base,solvent,temperature and the ratio{γ[n(1a)/n(2)n/(base)]} on the yield of 3a were studied.The results showed that 3a could be obtained with the highest yield(80%)under the optimum conditions(γ=1/2/2, potassium phosphate as base,ethanol as solvent,reaction at 80 ℃for 4 h).

Abstract:Abstract Inverse-electron-demand-hetero-Diels-Alder reactions of alkenes with α,β-unsaturated keto compounds allow rapid access to the tetrahydropyran ring found in numerous natural products and bioactive molecules. Despite its synthetic interest, catalytic asymmetric versions of this process remain underdeveloped, especially regarding the use of non-activated alkenes reacting with α,β-unsaturated ketone or aldehyde, for which no report can be found in the literature. Herein, we describe the catalytic inverse-electron-demand-hetero-Diels-Alder reactions between neutral alkenes and an α,β-unsaturated ketones or aldehydes to produce a variety of trans-fused [5,6,8] tricyclic structures containing a central, chiral tetrahydropyran ring. This complex transformation, which is achieved using a chiral phosphoric acid, allows for the formation of four stereogenic centers in a single step with high regio-, diastereo- and enantioselectivity (up to 99% ee). Such level of stereocontrol could be achieved by a key remote double hydrogen atom bonding interaction between the linear substrate and the catalyst.

Abstract:Herein, a novel protocol was constructed for the synthesis of highly functionalized 2,4-diarylpyridines. In this reaction, α,β-unsaturated ketoxime acetates and enaminones were used as substrates in a one-pot cascade reaction, which included a Michael reaction, intramolecular cyclization, dehydrogenation, and the removal of HOAc. This reaction resulted in the formation and cleavage of two bonds by refluxing a mixture of the starting materials in toluene and in the presence of the catalyst Fe(OTf)3. As a result, a series of functionalized pyridines were produced through a complex cascade reaction. This protocol can be used to synthesize functionalized asymmetrical 2,4-diarylpyridines. This approach is suitable for the combinatorial and parallel syntheses of pyridine derivatives in a one-pot reaction rather than traditional tedious multi-step reactions.

Abstract:A concise and efficient synthetic approach to 3-arylaminopyrroline-2-ones from anilines and beta,gamma-unsaturated alpha-ketoesters in boiling dichloromethane has been developed. This protocol possesses many advantages such as short reaction time, high isolated yields, and expanding substrate scopes. According to the isolated intermediates and controlled reactions, the reaction was tentatively proposed to involve the Michael addition/condensation and subsequent intramolecular cyclization. The structures of the title compounds were unambiguously confirmed by various spectral data such as X-ray crystallographic analysis.

Abstract:The enantioselective synthesis of axially chiral biaryls by a copper-catalyzed Diels–Alder/retro-Diels–Alder reaction of 2-pyrones with alkynes is reported herein. Using electron-deficient 2-pyrones and electron-rich 1-naphthyl acetylenes as the reaction partners, a broad range of axially chiral biaryl esters are obtained in excellent yields (up to 97% yield) and enantioselectivities (up to >99% ee). DFT calculations reveal the reaction mechanism and provide insights into the origins of the stereoselectivities. The practicality and robustness of this reaction are showcased by gram-scale synthesis. Abstract:Diarylacetates are privileged structures of many bioactive natural products and pharmaceutical compounds. A time‐economical synthesis of diarylacetates by TfOH‐catalyzed arylation of α ‐aryl‐ α ‐diazoesters with arenes is described. This protocol provides a variety of diarylacetates in good yields with broad substrate scope, excellent functional group compatibility, and mild reaction conditions. Also, a new mechanism for the arylation reaction of α ‐aryl‐ α ‐diazoesters with arenes under TfOH catalysis is presented.
