Abstract:Treatment of cyclic ketone N-tosylhydrazones with chalcones in the presence of cesium carbonate at 110 degrees C affords spiropyrazolines with high selectivity and excellent yields. This protocol possesses many advantages such as readily available and stable starting materials, high selectivity, operational simplicity, and catalyst-free conditions.

Abstract:A mild, efficient, and environmentally benign one-pot synthesis of functionalized chromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-ones by a three-component domino reaction of 4-aminocoumarins, arylglyoxal monohydrates, and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in refluxing ethanol without the use of catalyst is reported. The present protocol features operational simplicity, short reaction time, good yields, and the absence of aqueous workup procedure and chromatographic separation. [GRAPHICS] .

Abstract:A concise and efficient synthetic approach was developed for the synthesis of functionalized chromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-ones via a one-pot, three-component reaction of 4-aminocoumarin, arylglyoxal monohydrates, and aromatic amines promoted by KHSO4 in toluene under reflux condition. The attractive features of this protocol are operational simplicity, short reaction time, easy purification of products and good to excellent yields.

Abstract:A convenient copper-catalyzed approach has been developed for the synthesis of substituted spiro-fused pyrazolin-5-ones from readily available cyclopropyl O-acyl ketoximes via an intramolecular N-N bond formation reaction. Abstract:A cobalt-catalyzed oxidative coupling of benzoic hydrazides with maleimides by utilizing 2-(1-methylhydrazinyl)pyridine as a bidentate directing group has been developed. This C-H functionalization/spirocyclization cascade protocol shows high efficiency and remarkable functional group tolerance, and the ubiquitous spirosuccinimides were obtained in good to excellent yields with high regioselectivity. This strategy also provides a novel and efficient access to diverse symmetric and unsymmetrical bisspirosuccinimides.

Abstract:An efficient enantioselective synthesis of spiro[indoline-3,4'-pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole] derivatives by a cascade reaction between pyrazolones and isatylidene malononitriles is described. With only 1 mol% of (DHQD)2PYR, chiral spirooxindole derivatives have been produced in excellent yields (96-99%) with good-to-excellent enantioselectivities (up to 91% ee).

Abstract:A novel type of highly efficient chiral C2-symmetric bipyridine-N,N’-dioxides catalysts to catalyze Michael addition/Cyclization of 5-aminopyrazoles with α,β-unsaturated 2-acyl imidazoles has been developed, affording the corresponding adducts in 85-97% yield with up to 99% enantioselectivity. Remarkably, this protocol exhibits extraordinary advantages in terms of reactivity and enantioselectivity, given the fact that as low as 2.2 mol % of L1 and 2.0 mol % of Ni(OTf)2 can promote the title reaction on gram scale to afford desired product with excellent enantioselectivity.

Abstract:An organocatalyzed stereoselective domino reaction as a facile approach to multicyclic spirooxindole derivatives bearing two stereogenic quaternary carbon atoms is reported.
