Abstract:Purpose: Involuntary weight loss is a common presenting symptom. Previous studies have shown that an organic cause is identifiable in around 30% of patients. CT is being requested increasingly as a first line investigation, but there is little evidence base to support this. The purpose of this study was to assess the role of CT in this group of patients.
