Abstract:Sciatic scoliosis can be seen in patients with lumbar disc herniation. Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) is a common surgical method for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. The difference between single-segment lumbar disc herniation and double-segment lumbar disc herniation with Sciatic Scoliosis in adults after PELD needs further study. The aim of this study was to compare the imaging features of single-segment and double-segment lumbar disc herniation with Sciatic Scoliosis in adults and to further explore the clinical outcomes of functional improvement and scoliosis imaging parameters of the two groups after PELD.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper aims to explore the differences in imaging features and clinical efficacy of percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) in adult patients with single - and double - level lumbar disc herniation accompanied by sciatic scoliosis. Specifically, the research objectives are: 1. **Compare the imaging features of patients with single - and double - level lumbar disc herniation accompanied by sciatic scoliosis after PELD treatment**: including the changes in parameters such as Cobb angle, apical vertebral translation (AVT), coronal balance distance (CBD), and sagittal vertical axis (SVA). 2. **Evaluate the clinical effects of PELD in the treatment of adult patients with single - and double - level lumbar disc herniation accompanied by sciatic scoliosis**: Evaluate pain relief and functional improvement through indicators such as the visual analogue scale (VAS), Oswestry disability index (ODI), and Japanese Orthopaedic Association score (JOA). 3. **Explore the clinical outcomes of postoperative functional improvement and scoliosis imaging parameters in the two groups of patients**: In particular, pay attention to whether double - level patients can obtain similar clinical efficacy as single - level patients, and the specific situation of scoliosis correction. Through these research objectives, the author hopes to further understand the feasibility and effectiveness of PELD in the treatment of patients with double - level lumbar disc herniation accompanied by sciatic scoliosis, thereby providing a basis for clinical decision - making.
