Formerly small-scale marketing approaches, such as providing free samples at local events, may now have a global reach when paired with live streaming on popular social media sites. The regulation of these live streaming platforms is hugely challenging and likely to remain so in the foreseeable future. To ensure that 'unhealthy' messages are not the only content seen by social media users, public health campaigns should invest in similar technologies in disseminating health promoting messages.

Abstract:Live commerce is creating a new paradigm for e-commerce platform economy. This study aims to provide effective strategies that can be used for live commerce platform operation and management by analysing factors that influence consumer intentions to purchase. As a combination of e-commerce and live streaming, live commerce allows businesses to demonstrate products, answer customer questions, and provide personalized recommendations in a way that replicates the in-store experience. Thus, this study aims to provide effective strategies that can be used for the new e-commerce platform economy and market competition that live commerce platforms build by analysing factors that influence consumer intentions to purchase. This study was conducted using structural equation modeling (SEM) based on a survey of 237 live commerce users. The results of this study lend platform-providers a more comprehensive understanding of the functional and social factors that influence consumers’ decisions to make purchases on such platforms. The outcomes can further serve as a basis for improving platforms, providing consumers with a better consumption experience, and offering theoretical support for consumers to use related services rationally and efficiently.

Abstract:Live streaming e-commerce, as a kind of new information technology-based business model, is currently the most popular marketing approach, especially in China. This research divides live streaming interactions into three dimensions, interactions for obtaining product information (IPI), interactions for grasping the purchase dynamics of others (IPD), and interactions for obtaining monetary incentives (IMI), and proposes a comprehensive framework to examine whether live streaming interactions with consumers promote both social presence and consumer conformity, and thereby enhance their purchase intentions. Covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) with AMOS was conducted to analyze data collected from 576 Chinese consumers. The main findings are that, first, both IPI and IPD can exert a direct impact on social presence and consumer conformity; second, IMI has a positive impact only on social presence; third, among the three dimensions of interactions, both IPI and IPD tend to increase purchase intention through social presence and consumer conformity, while IMI increases purchase intention only via social presence. Furthermore, given the differences between experience and search products, the results of the multigroup analysis indicate inconsistent path coefficients between the two product groups. This study provides a novel perspective on live streaming e-commerce with evidence on how interactions matter in driving purchase intentions, enriches the content of live streaming e-commerce literature and explores the practical implications for marketing managers are looking for marketing by live streaming.

Abstract:E-commerce live broadcast is a kind of video live in the e-commerce platform. As an innovation of entrepreneurial marketing in the new media era, it quickly becomes the most important marketing method for many e-commerce sellers. Based on the characteristics of web live broadcast, this paper studies the path model of relationship between live video and customers’ purchase intention from the perspective of telepresence. Through the empirical analysis, it is found that the vividness, interactivity and authenticity of live video enhance consumers’ purchasing intention by affecting consumers’ sense of immediacy and trust. Research results affirm the rationality for e-commerce sellers to introduce live broadcast marketing. Studies of detailed influencing paths allow sellers to evaluate marketing activities from the perspective of customers’ mentality, to better understand the effect of live broadcast and finally to optimize marketing strategies.

Abstract:With the rise of artificial intelligence and the public's attention to environmental issues, live online promotion of green products has become a new marketing method. It has become a key issue for enterprises to choose the appropriate information framework to motivate consumers' green purchasing behavior through different forms of live broadcasting. Combined with laboratory experiments, this study analyses the interaction between the type of live streaming and message framing on green purchase intention based on explanation level theory. Three experiments results show that using loss-framing message real anchors are more likely to promote consumers' green purchase intentions, and AI anchors are more suitable for using gain frames. Besides, consumer innovativeness moderates the influence of message framing and live streaming form on green purchase intention, and green perceived value plays a mediating role in this process. Our findings can not only guide the formulation of enterprise marketing strategy, but also provide countermeasures and suggestions for the future development of live marketing.

Abstract:This quantitative research study explores the impact of live marketing on consumers' irrational consumption behavior within the context of the new economic era. Adopting a structured approach, data were collected from 236 consumers through structured questionnaires utilizing Likert scale responses. Simple random sampling ensured a statistically representative sample across diverse demographics. The questionnaires comprehensively addressed various dimensions including exposure to live marketing events, emotional engagement, social media influencer impact, cognitive dissonance, socioeconomic factors, innovative marketing technologies, and irrational consumption behaviors. The data analysis was conducted meticulously utilizing SPSS and SmartPLS, involving various statistical techniques like summary statistics, correlation study, validation of factor analysis, and structural equation modeling, as well as comparative, moderation, and mediation analyses. The study uncovers novel insights, particularly highlighting the role of social media influencers in live marketing, elucidating how their involvement significantly amplifies the impact of social influence on consumers' irrational consumption decisions. Furthermore, findings reveal that consumers perceiving live marketing as immersive and memorable are more inclined towards engaging in irrational consumption behaviors. Additionally, the adoption of innovative live marketing technologies emerges as a key driver of brand perception, consequently leading to heightened levels of irrational consumption behaviors. Moreover, cognitive dissonance following such behaviors is identified as a significant factor contributing to increased repeat purchases. This research contributes to a more profound comprehension of consumer behavior within marketing contexts, providing valuable insights for marketers navigating the complexities of the contemporary economic landscape.

Abstract:Live streaming has recently become a popular direct selling channel which offers small, self-employed sellers unseen levels of consumer interaction and engagement. While the extant research focused on consumer motivation and intention to shop via live streaming, little is known from the seller's perspective. Indeed, the potential advantages of live streaming commerce are accessible to everyone, but sellers experience different levels of success with this medium. Using a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach, this study analyses Facebook data of live streaming sellers to assess the nature and extent of engagement metrics, and delineate the dynamic, interactive live streaming sales process. We identify four sales approaches and twelve strategies adopted in acquiring and retaining customers. This typology of sales approach representing seller-focused antecedents is mapped against the relationship process and outcomes to provide a framework for understanding relationship mechanisms in live streaming commerce.

Abstract:Purpose The author listened to many major corporate players discuss the brave new world of brand conversations and content engagement at the 2011 CM (“Conversational Marketing”) Summit in New York. This paper aims to reveal his conclusion is that we have a lot of new lessons to learn about social media. Design/methodology/approach The author reports on eight conference presentations by leading marketers from Facebook, Twitter, PepsiCo, Sony, VISA and others. Findings The theme of scalable real time analysis of metrics and messages, and strategic implementation of user‐friendly and effective communication based on that endless river of data, ran through most of the comments made at the conference. Practical implications The social network business proposition can be driven by either of two approaches, hi‐tech artificial intelligence or the personal‐folksy local experience, each enriching the communication between marketer and consumer. Identify the conversation customers want to have and to support their interests so that companies can create an ad that is, more or less, a “content experience.” Originality/value The paper explains how, as companies race to keep pace with the meteoric rise of social networking as a central matrix for human communications, they are learning to master this new commercial universe.

Abstract:In the digital age, understanding the marketing mentality of consumers is essential for effective marketing strategies. This abstract explores the marketing mentality and examines the disparities between Millennials and Gen Z consumers in terms of digital marketing. The marketing mentality encompasses consumers' attitudes, preferences, and behaviors towards marketing messages and brands. Both Millennials and Gen Z have grown up in the digital era, but they exhibit distinct characteristics that shape their digital interactions. Millennials, characterized as digital natives, value authenticity and transparency in marketing. Gen Z, also digital natives, shares this appreciation for authenticity but tends to be more skeptical of traditional advertising. Mobile dominance is a prominent feature of both generations, but Gen Z relies more heavily on mobile devices for various activities. Therefore, marketers must prioritize mobile optimization when targeting Gen Z consumers. Millennials follow established influencers, while Gen Z prefers micro-influencers or peers who are relatable and authentic. Content consumption patterns also diverge. Millennials lean towards long- form content, valuing in-depth information and storytelling. Understanding the marketing mentality and differences between Millennials and Gen Z consumers in digital marketing is crucial for marketers to tailor their strategies effectively

Abstract:This research explores the role of live streaming features in marketing strategy in the context of Marketing Strategy 5.0 and e-commerce live streaming. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach involving direct observation and secondary data analysis, this research identifies how live streaming not only functions as a tool to facilitate real-time product reflection, but also as a platform to build in-depth interactions with customers. Through the Marketing Strategy 5.0 approach, which emphasizes the use of technology to improve customer experience and personalization, the research focus is the TikTok account @serbagroosir with the consideration: this company has survived for more than 5 years with sales always increasing. Through the data analysis technique used, Manual Data Analysis Procedure (MDAP), from the results of interviews accompanied by triangulation of sources and theory, this research found that TikTok's live streaming feature allows companies to answer consumer questions directly, provide exclusive promotions, and encourage impulse purchases. Additionally, live streaming helps in forming a loyal customer community and expands market reach thanks to TikTok's algorithm that supports the discovery of new content. This research suggests that companies should increase the frequency of live streaming sessions and leverage data analytics to optimize streaming timing and content. For future researchers, it is recommended to expand the scope of the study by involving multiple accounts and platforms as well as conducting in-depth analysis of consumer behavior during live streaming sessions to provide more comprehensive insight into the effectiveness of this strategy in e-commerce.

Abstract:The introduction of the Internet and its rapid expansion in the 90s, coupled with technological advances in software and hardware, allowed the digitisation of virtually the entire value-chain of the music industry (Berry, 2006). The industry saw its traditional value exploiting methods, in particular CD sales, become less effective and in many cases obsolete. At the same time, new stronger and more direct relationships started forming between the artists and their audience, radically changing how many of the industry’s functions, such as its supply chain management, were undertaken. In this article, we discuss how information and communication technologies affect one aspect of the music experience, that of live and virtual performances. This choice allows us also to illustrate a change of attitude toward technology from all stakeholders, especially music labels. The article first presents a number of examples of “live” performances with “real” performers that were reproduced and repackaged using various multimedia technologies and then distributed through a number of online and digital channels. Following this, the article discusses the emerging phenomenon of virtual performances on Second Life and considers their potential implications.

Abstract:Despite the relative paucity of knowledge relating to consumer attitudes towards acceptance and use of mobile digital technology, organisations are investing in the technology capabilities to take advantage of the emergent opportunities in mobile marketing (m-marketing). This paper adopts a consumer perspective to increase our understanding of business-to-consumer marketing of (m-services, defined as both mobile commerce (m-commerce) transaction messages and information services accessed by mobile devices. Data were collected from a sample of 250 respondents using an online survey and a modified snowball procedure. Results show that consumers perceive mobile services (m-services) in terms of usage benefit types that the authors label ‘mobile life enhancers’ (MLEs). The research further establishes important patterns of relationships between mobile user characteristics and MLE types. Conclusions are presented and future research directions are discussed.

Abstract:Purpose The purpose of this paper is to review recent developments in online marketing strategy which demonstrate the growing power of online communities in building brand reputations and customer relationships. Design/methodology/approach The work draws upon the results of an ongoing research project which is investigating the use of new technologies by entrepreneurial businesses in the London area. A range of examples from our 30 case study businesses are drawn upon to illustrate some of the opportunities and threats associated with these new marketing priorities. Findings We conclude that social networks will play a key role in the future of marketing; externally they can replace customer annoyance with engagement, and internally they help to transform the traditional focus on control with an open and collaborative approach that is more conducive to success in the modern business environment. Research limitations/implications Further research should aim to track this activity as it integrates with more mainstream marketing over time. Practical implications Developments in the technologies themselves, as well as a reduction in costs, will mean that more and more information will be available to consumers. This results in unprecedented levels of transparency of dealings between businesses and their customers. A key challenge when engaging customers through these social networks is how to give away power and control while at the same time avoiding embarrassment to the company. Originality/value The paper provides practical guidance on the opportunities and threats associated with marketing through social networks, based on lessons learned from “early adopters”.
A Comprehensive Analysis of Customers’ Impulsive Buying Behavior in Live Commerce

Abstract:Purpose - The purpose of this study is to understand customer purchasing phenomenon in live commerce from the perspective of impulse buying. Design/Methodology/Approach - In this study, in order to study factors affecting impulse buying behavior in live commerce, factors affecting impulse buying behavior were classified into four characteristic areas using flow and perceived usefulness as mediators. The four characteristic areas are live commerce platform characteristics, information source characteristics, product characteristics, and individual characteristics. A total of 290 copies of valid data were collected through a questionnaire survey, which was empirically analyzed using structural equation modeling. Findings - As a result of the study, it was found that sense of reality, credibility, and entertainment affect flow, low price, trendy product, and high involvement product affect perceived usefulness, and perceived usefulness and flow affect impulse buying behavior. Research Implications - Practitioners that want to achieve business results by utilizing impulse purchases in live commerce first select products with high involvement, and during the broadcast process, they emphasize the practical benefits that consumers can obtain from purchasing products to make it fun instead of boring.
