Epub 2022 Nov 8This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief and the Executive Editor.After publication we were made aware of discrepancies between the trial registration and the published paper. No relevant changes to the protocol / registration were noted and deviations from the protocol were not described within the paper. What was published is, in effect, a different trial to that described in the trial registration and the registration number cited in the published paper is inaccurate. Inclusion of inaccurate information in the material submitted for peer review is a violation of publishing ethics standards. Moreover, this paper does not meet our requirement, as recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and specified in our guide for authors, that all clinical trials are prospectively registered which is important to maintain the integrity of science.Apologies are offered to the readers of the journal that discrepancies between the trial registration and the published paper were not detected during the peer review process.
