Abstract:The prehospital use of adrenaline (epinephrine) in patients in cardiac arrest is associated with an increased risk of death or debilitating brain damage, a large cohort study in France has found. Guidelines recommend giving adrenaline every 3-5 minutes during resuscitation of patients in cardiac arrest, as it increases the likelihood of restoring spontaneous circulation.
