Abstract:Nanoscale field-effect transistors (FETs) represent a unique platform for real time, label-free transduction of biochemical signals with unprecedented sensitivity and spatiotemporal resolution, yet their translation toward practical biomedical applications remains challenging. Herein, we demonstrate the potential to overcome several key limitations of traditional FET sensors by exploiting bioactive hydrogels as the gate material. Spatially defined photopolymerization is utilized to achieve selective patterning of polyethylene glycol on top of individual graphene FET devices, through which multiple biospecific receptors can be independently encapsulated into the hydrogel gate. The hydrogel-mediated integration of penicillinase was demonstrated to effectively catalyze enzymatic reaction in the confined microenvironment, enabling real time, label-free detection of penicillin down to 0.2 mM. Multiplexed functionalization with penicillinase and acetylcholinesterase has been demonstrated to achieve highly specific sensing. In addition, the microenvironment created by the hydrogel gate has been shown to significantly reduce the nonspecific binding of nontarget molecules to graphene channels as well as preserve the encapsulated enzyme activity for at least one week, in comparison to free enzymes showing significant signal loss within one day. This general approach presents a new biointegration strategy and facilitates multiplex detection of bioanalytes on the same platform, which could underwrite new advances in healthcare research.

Abstract:Multiplexing, one of the main trends in biosensors, aims to detect several analytes simultaneously by integrating miniature sensors on a chip. However, precisely depositing electrode materials and selective enzymes on distinct microelectrode arrays remains an obstacle to massively produced multiplexed sensors. Here, we report on a "drop-on-demand" inkjet printing process to fabricate multiplexed biosensors based on nanostructured conductive hydrogels in which the electrode material and several kinds of enzymes were printed on the electrode arrays one by one by employing a multinozzle inkjet system. The whole inkjet printing process can be finished within three rounds of printing and only one round of alignment. For a page of sensor arrays containing 96 working electrodes, the printing process took merely ∼5 min. The multiplexed assays can detect glucose, lactate, and triglycerides in real time with good selectivity and high sensitivity, and the results in phosphate buffer solutions and calibration serum samples are comparable. The inkjet printing process exhibited advantages of high efficiency and accuracy, which opens substantial possibilities for massive fabrication of integrated multiplexed biosensors for human health monitoring.

Abstract:Graphene is a highly promising material for biosensors due to its excellent physical and chemical properties which facilitate electron transfer between the active locales of enzymes or other biomaterials and a transducer surface. Printing technology has recently emerged as a low-cost and practical method for fabrication of flexible and disposable electronics devices. The combination of these technologies is promising for the production and commercialization of low cost sensors. In this review, recent developments in organo-functionalized graphene and printed biosensor technologies are comprehensively covered. Firstly, various methods for printing graphene-based fluids on different substrates are discussed. Secondly, different graphene-based ink materials and preparation methods are described. Lastly, biosensing performances of printed or printable graphene-based electrochemical and field effect transistor sensors for some important analytes are elaborated. The reported printed graphene based sensors exhibit promising properties with good reliability suitable for commercial applications. Among most reports, only a few printed graphene-based biosensors including screen-printed oxidase-functionalized graphene biosensor have been demonstrated. The technology is still at early stage but rapidly growing and will earn great attention in the near future due to increasing demand of low-cost and disposable biosensors.

Abstract:Graphene, a single atom thick and two dimensional carbon nano-material, has been proven to possess many unique properties, one of which is the recent discovery that it can interact with single-stranded DNA through noncovalent π–π stacking. In this work, we demonstrate that a new strategy to fabricate many kinds of biosensors can be developed by combining this property with cascade chemical reactions. Taking the fabrication of glucose sensor as an example, while the detection target, glucose, may regulate the graphene–DNA interaction through three cascade chemical reactions, electrochemical techniques are employed to detect the target-regulated graphene–DNA interaction. Experimental results show that in a range from 5μM to 20mM, the glucose concentration is in a natural logarithm with the logarithm of the amperometric response, suggesting a best detection limit and detection range. The proposed biosensor also shows favorable selectivity, and it has the advantage of no need for labeling. What is more, by controlling the cascade chemical reactions, detection of a variety of other targets may be achieved, thus the strategy proposed in this work may have a wide application potential in the future.

Abstract:This study reports an economical and portable point-of-care (POC) monitoring device based on artificial multi-enzyme cascade systems for multiple detection purposes. The device was made up of a disposable three dimensional microfluidic paper-based analytical device (3D μPAD) with multiple detection zones and a smartphone readout. On-paper synthesis of a multifunctional mimetic composite, based on the CeO2 nanoparticles embedded in the amino-functionalized Fe metal-organic frameworks (CeO2@NH2-MIL-88B(Fe)), for cascade reactions was the main achievement of this work. The 3D μPAD was applied for simultaneous quantification of glucose, fructose, sucrose and maltose, and the detection process consisted of the enzymatic reaction of each sugar by anchored enzymes on the metal-organic frameworks (MOF) and successive oxidation of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). Utilizing the new artificial mimicking system improved the color development uniformity and resulted in a reliable detection tool, with excellent detection limits in the range of 20-280 μM. It was directly applied to analyze the sugars levels of human total blood, urine, semen, honey and juice samples with the relative errors of less than 7.7% compared with the HPLC method. The cost-effective and easy-to-use μPAD has a great potential to be used in either medical diagnostics or the food industry. Also, it can be considered as a competitive POC method for patients in disadvantaged communities or emergencies.

Abstract:Low-cost, rapid, and easy-to-use biosensors for various cancer biomarkers are of utmost importance in detecting cancer biomarkers for early-stage metastasis control and efficient diagnosis. The molecular complexity of cancer biomarkers is overwhelming, thus, the repeatability and reproducibility of measurements by biosensors are critical factors. Electrochemical biosensors are attractive alternatives in cancer diagnosis due to their low cost, simple operation, and promising analytical figures of merit. Recently graphene-derived nanostructures have been used extensively for the fabrication of electrochemical biosensors because of their unique physicochemical properties, including the high electrical conductivity, adsorption capacity, low cost and ease of mass production, presence of oxygen-containing functional groups that facilitate the bioreceptor immobilization, increased flexibility and mechanical strength, low cellular toxicity. Indeed, these properties make them advantageous compared to other alternatives. However, some drawbacks must be overcome to extend their use, such as poor and uncontrollable deposition on the substrate due to the low dispersity of some graphene materials and irreproducibility of the results because of the differences in various batches of the produced graphene materials. This review has documented the most recently developed strategies for electrochemical sensor fabrication. It differs in the categorization method compared to published works to draw greater attention to the wide opportunities of graphene nanomaterials for biological applications. Limitations and future scopes are discussed to advance the integration of novel technologies such as artificial intelligence, the internet of medical things, and triboelectric nanogenerators to eventually increase efficacy and efficiency.

Abstract:The reliability of analysis is becoming increasingly important as point-of-care diagnostics are transitioning from single analyte detection towards multiplexed multianalyte detection. Multianalyte detection benefits greatly from complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) integrated sensing solutions, offering miniaturized multiplexed sensing arrays with integrated readout electronics and extremely large sensor counts. The development of CMOS back end of line integration compatible graphene field-effect transistor (GFET) based biosensing has been rapid during the last few years, both in terms of the fabrication scale-up and functionalization towards biorecognition from real sample matrices. The next steps in industrialization relate to improving reliability and require increased statistics. Regarding functionalization towards truly quantitative sensors and on-chip bioassays with improved statistics require sensor arrays with reduced variability in functionalization. Such multiplexed bioassays, whether based on graphene or on other sensitive nanomaterials, are among the most promising technologies for label-free electrical biosensing. As an important step towards that, we report wafer-scale fabrication of CMOS integrated GFET arrays with high yield and uniformity, designed especially for biosensing applications. We demonstrate the operation of the sensing platform array with 512 GFETs in simultaneous detection for sodium chloride concentration series. This platform offers a truly statistical approach on GFET based biosensing and further to quantitative and multi-analyte sensing. The reported techniques can also be applied to other fields relying on functionalized GFETs, such as gas or chemical sensing or infrared imaging.

A Mediated Enzymatic Electrochemical Sensor Using Paper-Based Laser-Induced Graphene

Abstract:Laser-induced graphene (LIG) has been applied in many different sensing devices, from mechanical sensors to biochemical sensors. In particular, LIG fabricated on paper (PaperLIG) shows great promise for preparing cheap, flexible, and disposable biosensors. Distinct from the fabrication of LIG on polyimide, a two-step process is used for the fabrication of PaperLIG. In this study, firstly, a highly conductive PaperLIG is fabricated. Further characterization of PaperLIG confirmed that it was suitable for developing biosensors. Subsequently, the PaperLIG was used to construct a biosensor by immobilizing glucose oxidase, aminoferrocene, and Nafion on the surface. The developed glucose biosensor could be operated at a low applied potential (−90 mV) for amperometric measurements. The as-prepared biosensor demonstrated a limit of detection of (50–75 μM) and a linear range from 100 μM to 3 mM. The influence of the concentration of the Nafion casting solution on the performance of the developed biosensor was also investigated. Potential interfering species in saliva did not have a noticeable effect on the detection of glucose. Based on the experimental results, the simple-to-prepare PaperLIG-based saliva glucose biosensor shows great promise for application in future diabetes management.
Aerosol-Jet-Printed Graphene Immunosensor for Label-Free Cytokine Monitoring in Serum

Abstract:Graphene-based inks are becoming increasingly attractive for printing low-cost and flexible electrical circuits due to their high electrical conductivity, biocompatibility, and manufacturing scalability. Conventional graphene printing techniques, such as screen and inkjet printing, are limited by stringent ink viscosity requirements properties and large as-printed line width that impedes the performance of printed biosensors. Here, we report an aerosol-jet-printed (AJP) graphene-based immunosensor capable of monitoring two distinct cytokines: interferon gamma (IFN-γ) and interleukin 10 (IL-10). Interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) with 40 μm finger widths were printed from graphene-nitrocellulose ink on a polyimide substrate. The IDEs were annealed in CO2 to introduce reactive oxygen species on the graphene surface that act as chemical handles to covalently link IFN-γ and IL-10 antibodies to the graphene surfaces. The resultant AJP electrochemical immunosensors are capable of monitoring cytokines in serum with wide sensing range (IFN-γ: 0.1-5 ng/mL; IL-10: 0.1-2 ng/mL), low detection limit (IFN-γ: 25 pg/ml and IL-10: 46 pg/ml) and high selectivity (antibodies exhibited minimal cross-reactivity with each other and IL-6) without the need for sample prelabeling or preconcentration. Moreover, these biosensors are mechanically flexible with minimal change in signal output after 250 bending cycles over a high curvature (Φ = 5 mm). Hence, this technology could be applied to numerous electrochemical applications that require low-cost electroactive circuits that are disposable and/or flexible.
All-printed Multiplexed Electrocatalytic Biosensors with Rationally Designed Nanoparticle Inks

Abstract:Inkjet printing, capable of rapid and template-free fabrication with high resolution and low material waste, is a promising method to construct electrochemical biosensor devices. However, the construction of fully inkjet-printed electrochemical biosensor remains a challenge owing to the lack of appropriate inks, especially the sensing inks of bioactive materials. Herein, we demonstrate a fully inkjet-printed, integrated and multiplexed electrochemical biosensor by combining rationally designed nanoparticle Inks. The stable gold (Au) nanoparticles ink with lower sintering temperature is prepared by using L-cysteine as stabilizer, and it is used to print the interconnects, the counter electrodes, and the working electrodes. The SU-8 ink is used to serve as dielectric layer for the biosensor, whereas the silver electrode is printed on the Au electrode by using commercially silver nanoparticles ink before it is chlorinated to prepare Ag/AgCl reference electrode. Moreover, we synthesize an inkjet-printable and electroactive ink, by the "one-pot method", which is composed of conductive poly 6-aminoindole (PIn-6-NH2) and gold-palladium (Au-Pd) alloy nanoparticle (Au-Pd@PIn-6-NH2) to enhance the sensing performance of gold electrode towards hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Especially, the amino groups in PIn-6-NH2 canbe further used to immobilizing glucose oxidase (GOx) and lactic acid oxidase (LOx) by glutaraldehyde to prepare printable sensing ink for the detection of glucose and lactate. The fully inkjet-printed electrochemical biosensor enabled by advanced inks can simultaneously detect glucose and lactate with good sensitivity and selectivity, as well as facile and scalable fabrication, showing great promise for metabolic monitoring.

Abstract:Biosensors with high sensitivity, selectivity and a low limit of detection, reaching nano/picomolar concentrations of biomolecules, are important to the medical sciences and healthcare industry for evaluating physiological and metabolic parameters. Over the last decade, different nanomaterials have been exploited to design highly efficient biosensors for the detection of analyte biomolecules. The discovery of graphene has spectacularly accelerated research on fabricating low-cost electrode materials because of its unique physical properties, including high specific surface area, high carrier mobility, high electrical conductivity, flexibility, and optical transparency. Graphene and its oxygenated derivatives, including graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO), are becoming an important class of nanomaterials in the field of biosensors. The presence of oxygenated functional groups makes GO nanosheets strongly hydrophilic, facilitating chemical functionalization. Graphene, GO and rGO nanosheets can be easily combined with various types of inorganic nanoparticles, including metals, metal oxides, semiconducting nanoparticles, quantum dots, organic polymers and biomolecules, to create a diverse range of graphene-based nanocomposites with enhanced sensitivity for biosensor applications. This review summarizes the advances in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) graphene-based nanocomposites as emerging electrochemical and fluorescent biosensing platforms for the detection of a wide range of biomolecules with enhanced sensitivity, selectivity and a low limit of detection. The biofunctionalization and nanocomposite formation processes of graphene-based materials and their unique properties, surface functionalization, enzyme immobilization strategies, covalent immobilization, physical adsorption, biointeractions and direct electron transfer (DET) processes are discussed in connection with the design and fabrication of biosensors. The enzymatic and nonenzymatic reactions on graphene-based nanocomposite surfaces for glucose- and cholesterol-related electrochemical biosensors are analyzed. This review covers a very broad range of graphene-based electrochemical and fluorescent biosensors for the detection of glucose, cholesterol, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), nucleic acids (DNA/RNA), genes, enzymes, cofactors nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP), dopamine (DA), ascorbic acid (AA), uric acid (UA), cancer biomarkers, pathogenic microorganisms, food toxins, toxic heavy metal ions, mycotoxins, and pesticides. The sensitivity and selectivity of graphene-based electrochemical and fluorescent biosensors are also examined with respect to interfering analytes present in biological systems. Finally, the future outlook for the development of graphene based biosensing technology is outlined.

Abstract:With the advent of flexible electronics, the old fashioned and conventional solid-state technology will be replaced by conductive inks combined with low-cost printing techniques. Graphene is an ideal candidate to produce conductive inks, due to its excellent conductivity and zero bandgap. The possibility to chemically modify graphene with active molecules opens up the field of responsive conductive inks. Herein, a bioresponsive, electroactive, and inkjet-printable graphene ink is presented. The ink is based on graphene chemically modified with selected enzymes and an electrochemical mediator, to transduce the products of the enzymatic reaction into an electron flow, proportional to the analyte concentration. A water-based formulation is engineered to be respectful with the enzymatic activity while matching the stringent requirements of inkjet printing. The efficient electrochemical performance of the ink, as well as a proof-of-concept application in biosensing, is demonstrated. The versatility of the system is demonstrated by modifying graphene with various oxidoreductases, obtaining inks with selectivity toward glucose, lactate, methanol, and ethanol.

Abstract:Carbon nanomaterials field-effect transistor (FET)-based electrical biosensors provide significant advantages over the current gold standards, holding great potential for realizing direct, label-free, real-time electrical detection of biomolecules in a multiplexed manner with ultrahigh sensitivity and excellent selectivity. The feasibility of integrating them with current complementary metal oxide semiconductor platform and a fluid handling module using standard microfabrication technology opens up new opportunities for the development of low-cost, low-noise, portable electrical biosensors for use in practical future devices. In this article, we review recent progress in the rapidly developing area of biomolecular interaction detection using FET-based biosensors based on the carbon nanomaterials single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and graphene. Detection scenarios include DNA–DNA hybridization, DNA–protein interaction, protein function and cellular activity. In particular, we will highlight an amazing property of SWNT- or graphene-FETs in biosensing: their ability to detect biomolecules at the single-molecule level or at the single-cell level. This is due to the size comparability and the surface compatibility of the carbon nanomaterials with biological molecules. We also summarize some current challenges the scientific community is facing, including device-to-device heterogeneity and the lack of system integration for uniform device array mass production.

Abstract:Purpose This study aims to improve detection efficiency of fluorescence biosensor or a graphene field-effect transistor biosensor. Graphene field-effect transistor biosensing and fluorescent biosensing were integrated and combined with magnetic nanoparticles to construct a multi-sensor integrated microfluidic biochip for detecting single-stranded DNA. Multi-sensor integrated biochip demonstrated higher detection reliability for a single target and could simultaneously detect different targets. Design/methodology/approach In this study, the authors integrated graphene field-effect transistor biosensing and fluorescent biosensing, combined with magnetic nanoparticles, to fabricate a multi-sensor integrated microfluidic biochip for the detection of single-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Graphene films synthesized through chemical vapor deposition were transferred onto a glass substrate featuring two indium tin oxide electrodes, thus establishing conductive channels for the graphene field-effect transistor. Using π-π stacking, 1-pyrenebutanoic acid succinimidyl ester was immobilized onto the graphene film to serve as a medium for anchoring the probe aptamer. The fluorophore-labeled target DNA subsequently underwent hybridization with the probe aptamer, thereby forming a fluorescence detection channel. Findings This paper presents a novel approach using three channels of light, electricity and magnetism for the detection of single-stranded DNA, accompanied by the design of a microfluidic detection platform integrating biosensor chips. Remarkably, the detection limit achieved is 10 pm, with an impressively low relative standard deviation of 1.007%. Originality/value By detecting target DNA, the photo-electro-magnetic multi-sensor graphene field-effect transistor biosensor not only enhances the reliability and efficiency of detection but also exhibits additional advantages such as compact size, affordability, portability and straightforward automation. Real-time display of detection outcomes on the host facilitates a deeper comprehension of biochemical reaction dynamics. Moreover, besides detecting the same target, the sensor can also identify diverse targets, primarily leveraging the penetrative and noninvasive nature of light.

Novel Graphene-Gold Nanohybrid with Excellent Electrocatalytic Performance for the Electrochemical Detection of Glucose

Abstract:Graphene-gold nanohybrids have become a hot research topic in material science, because the hybridization can be an effective strategy to enhance the functionality of materials and the integration of nanomaterials on graphene nanosheets potentially paves a new way to improve their electronic, chemical and electrochemical properties. The study reported a novel graphene-gold nanohybrid with excellent electrocatalytic performance for electrochemical detection of glucose. First, the monodisperse gold nanoparticles (GNs) were prepared via the citrate reduction associated with pH-shifting. The resulting GNs give an average particle size of 6 nm and narrow size distribution. Then, one part of the GN solution was mixed with the graphite oxide solution, which followed by the ascorbic acid reduction and unidirectional freeze-drying to prepare graphene aerogel@GNs (GA@GNs). The formed GA@GNs offers a well-defined three-dimensional and orientated porous structure. In addition, the most of GNs in the aerogel was embedded in the intertwined graphene sheets. Finally, another part of the GN solution was sucked into the GA@GNs to obtain GA@GNs/GNs. It was subjected to freeze-drying and thermal annealing in air at 180 degrees C to remove the citrate modified on the surface of GNs. Because their active sites were well exposed outside, the adsorbed GNs are of high catalytic activity. The study shows that the as-prepared GA@GNs/GNs gives high electrical conductivity (15.4 S m(-1)), specific surface area (291.6 m(2) g(-1)) and apparent heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant (14.8 +/- 0.12 cm s(-1)). The sensor based on the GA@GNs/GNs displays ultrasensitive electrochemical response to glucose, owing to largely enhanced electron transfer, mass transport and catalytic activity. Its peak current linearly increases with the increase of glucose in the range from 0.01 to 16 mM with the detection limit of 0.004 mM (S/N = 3). The analytical method presents the advantage of sensitivity, repeatability and stability compared with present glucose sensors. It has been successfully applied in the detection of glucose in serum samples with the spiked recovery of 95.7-104.2%. The study also provides a promising approach for building on various graphene-metal nanohybrids with excellent electrochemical performance for sensing, catalysis and energy storage/conversion devices. Abstract:Recent advances in graphene field‐effect transistor (GFET) biosensors are summarized, including device design and operation, biomarker analysis, and prototypical applications. The advantages and limitations of GFETs and the possible technical solutions to existing challenges are discussed, providing suggestions on the future development of GFET biosensors in biomarker analysis and healthcare monitoring applications. Biomarkers are primary indicators for precise diagnosis and treatment. The early identification of health biomarkers has been sustained by the evolutionary success in sensor technologies. Among them, graphene field‐effect transistor (GFET) biosensors have exhibited major advantages such as an ultrashort response time, high sensitivity, easy operation, capability of integration, and label‐free detection. Owing to the atomic thickness, graphene restricts charge carrier flow merely at the material surface and responds to foreign stimuli directly, leading to effective signal acquisition and transmission. Here, this review summarizes the latest advances in GFET biosensors in a comprehensive manner that contains the device design, working principle, surface functionalization, and proof‐of‐concept applications. It provides a comprehensive survey of GFET biosensors with regard to biomarker analysis at the single‐device level and integrated prototypes that include wearable sensors, biomimetic systems, healthcare electronics, and diagnostic platforms. Moreover, there is discussion on the long‐standing research efforts and outlook for the future development of GFET sensor systems from lab to fab.

Ultrasensitive Field-Effect Biosensors Enabled by the Unique Electronic Properties of Graphene

Abstract:This review provides a critical overview of current developments on nanoelectronic biochemical sensors based on graphene. Composed of a single layer of conjugated carbon atoms, graphene has outstanding high carrier mobility and low intrinsic electrical noise, but a chemically inert surface. Surface functionalization is therefore crucial to unravel graphene sensitivity and selectivity for the detection of targeted analytes. To achieve optimal performance of graphene transistors for biochemical sensing, the tuning of the graphene surface properties via surface functionalization and passivation is highlighted, as well as the tuning of its electrical operation by utilizing multifrequency ambipolar configuration and a high frequency measurement scheme to overcome the Debye screening to achieve low noise and highly sensitive detection. Potential applications and prospectives of ultrasensitive graphene electronic biochemical sensors ranging from environmental monitoring and food safety, healthcare and medical diagnosis, to life science research, are presented as well.

Abstract:As an atomic-thick layer material, graphene has a large specific surface area, high electron mobility, and high sensitivity to electronic perturbations from the binding of molecules, all of which are attractive properties for developing electronic sensing devices. This article focuses on graphene-based electronic sensors [field effect transistor (FET) sensors] for detecting biomolecules, including DNA, protein, and bacteria, among others. This article will cover three morphologies of graphene materials in biosensing applications: graphene nanosheet, graphene nanoribbon, and vertically-aligned graphene. The unique structure and electronic properties of graphene enable the FET sensor for the low concentration and rapid detection of biomolecules, thereby addressing the limitations of conventional optical sensing technologies such as ELISA, Western Blot, and electrochemical method. The advantages of graphene-based sensing technology are highlighted and recent progress on graphene-based electronic sensors for detecting biomolecules is reviewed and discussed.

Abstract:Wearable glucose sensors, regardless of invasive or non-invasive, show tremendous demands of accuracy, long-term stability, flexibility, and comfortability. Because of the unique structure and excellent electrical performance of monolayer graphene, the graphene field effect transistor (G-FET) has been successfully applied into the fabrication of the high-performance glucose sensor. However, most of the developed G-FET devices are enzymatic, of which the accuracy and the stability usually suffer from the inevitable enzyme deactivation. Besides, they are usually fabricated on solid substrates (e.g., silicon or glass), which severely limit the wearable applications. In this work, an ultrathin flexible affinity-based G-FET is realized for the non-enzymatic glucose detection. The device fabrication was achieved on an adhesive support, which made the device can be easy to peel off and simplify the process. The graphene channel was functionalized using the specific pyrene-1-boronic acid (PBA). As the glucose solution was injected, glucose molecules were recognized by electron-withdrawing PBA molecules to form electron-rich glucose-boronate ester complexes, thus inducing the variation in the conductivity of graphene channel. The fabricated glucose sensor shows a wide detection range of 1 mu M-5 mM, a high sensitivity of -0.6695 mu A/decade, and a low detection limit of 0.1 mu M (S/N = 3). The findings indicate the great potentials of such the ultrathin flexible device for the sensitive detection of small molecules in various biofluids, such as sweat, tear, saliva, and blood.
