Effect of Electro-Acupuncture on the Changes in the ECG of Acute Myocardial Ischemic Injury in Rabbits.

Abstract:> Fifty rabbits were divided at random intofour groups:the Ximen(P4),the Weishu(UB21),the Zhongdu(Liv 6)and the control.Acutemyocardial ischemic injury was induced byligating the ventricular branch of the leftcoronary artery for 10 min.The potentialchanges in ST II and STa VF recorded by elec-trocardiogram were taken as indices of theeffect of electro-acupuncture on myocardial in-jury.Acupuncture of the“Weishu”and“Ximen”points markedly inhibited the development ofmyocardial injury and promoted recovery.Acu-pucture of the“Zhongdu”point did not producethese results.This indicates the relative speci-ficity of these acupuncture points.
